Ronny Aquinin, MD

Dr. Ronny Aquinin is a great doctor. He is friendly, very knowledgeable and definitely puts you as the patient at ease.
I unfortunately would have to review his office as a whole a 1 star due to my experience with his staff and in particular, the front office. I found Dr. Aquinin through my insurance provider which was Cigna at the time. I visited the office a few times and was told on my initial visit that my insurance was accepted. I was charged my initial in-​network co-​pay and went about my visit as normal. I visited his office three times in the span of 2 months ranging from vaccines to a physical. After my third visit, I received a phone call after leaving the office informing me that I needed to pay an additional $ 120 due to the fact that I somehow wasn’t covered by my insurance. I spoke to the receptionist and informed her that I had been treated as an in-​network patient the previous visits. She confirmed this and could not give me an explanation as to what happened. She then continued to bully me on the phone that I needed to pay the remaining balance on the phone so she could close the computer for the end of the day. I then received another bill from the office in the mail totaling over $ 600 for visits that I had originally been covered for. I explained to the receptionist that I had been treated as an in-​network patient and she informed me that she had made a mistake. The best she could offer was that she would deduct the $ 60 I had paid for my copays from the total bill. I told her that I thought it was unfair that I was being punished for a mistake she made and she simply did not budge pressuring me to pay the bill. I refused, sent an e-​mail to Dr. Aquinin that went unanswered, and called my insurance who informed me they couldn’t do much as it was an office error. At the end of the day, I ended up paying $ 300 for a physical and some vaccines that I had been told by the receptionist that I was covered for.
Although I recommend Dr. Aquinin as a doctor, I found his front office staff to be unprofessional and unfair for placing an office mistake on the patient; especially as the front office admitted that they had made a mistake.

Dr Aquinin gives you 100% of his attention during your appointment, and his staff is extremely helpful.
I can’t recommend Dr. Aquinin enough!
