I needed to get my eyebrows and bikini waxed, and this place always looked nice from the outside, so I made an appointment. The woman who performed the waxing was very nice and thorough. BUT she used the same stick for the entire waxing session. I actually saw her re-dip the stick with hairs on it. Totally gross and unhygienic! My eyebrows looked good after, and I like that they use 3 different types of hard wax depending on the type of skin, but the whole double dipping thing is really unprofessional. After the waxing I realized I really needed a haircut too, so I looked at the menu and when I saw that it would only cost $ 40(for Miami Beach, that’s a steal!), I asked if they had anyone available to give me a haircut right then. They did! But you get what you pay for. I learned that the hard way! First of all, the guy who cut my hair was super creepy(but that’s a personal preference). He was all up in my face and kept calling me sexy, which made me more than a little uncomfortable. When he was doing the initial consultation, he found a grey hair and said«Ew! This is disgusting!» I have a sense of humor, so I could laugh that off, but still, I thought that was pretty unprofessional. After washing my hair, he had me sit down, and seemed to measure the length pretty carefully before actually cutting it, which was reassuring. But then, he took the scissors and just cut straight across my neck in one big chunk without any flair or layers or anything. The rest of the haircut went this way and the whole time I was thinking, «maybe he’ll shape it once it’s dry.» I thought wrong. He blow dried my hair in such a way that it looked like a big rat’s nest, and he kept saying«it’s so much more sexy when a woman has curly hair.» But my hair is NOT curly. It’s wavy. And trying to make it look curly just makes it look LIKE A RAT’S NEST! Plus, I couldn’t see the shape of the haircut like that, so I asked him to blow it straight so I could see the shape better and tell him if anything needed to be changed. When he blew it straight, it was obvious he hadn’t shaped my hair ATALL. It looked like he had taken a big bowl, put it on my head, and cut straight across. But instead of seeing that himself, I had to point out each and every piece that needed to be angled or softened. And the whole time he kept saying, «you should really use products in your hair because your husband will want to see something different. Don’t trust your husband if he tells you that you look beautiful as you are.» After having him re-cut and re-angle and re-blow dry several times, my hair looks okay, but only in the front. The back looks awful. Good thing my hair grows quickly!
