The food is okay, not great. We moved from D.C. Where you have the best food from any cultural background. We were excited to hear about Mike’s. Unfortunately, it’s not working out for us.

Plus: They deliver to your hotel room even if they said that the hotel doesn’t let them through. Fast service. The food arrive earlier than the stated time. Huge servings. Person taking order was very attentive. Food was good. Thank you Mike’s China Beach!

This is a hole in the waLL masterpiece. Pickup and delivery only. Hits the spot every time. I’m stiLL trying to figure out Mike’s real name after 20 years. If Mike were a fictional character, he’d be Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat bc he’s the bomb and you just don’t waNNa meSS with him especially since his restaurant is located on a dark side aLLey. The General(tso chicken) is amazingly cOoked to perfection. Lunch and diNNer specials are like $ 7 and $ 10, respectively. It just doesn’t get beTter than Mikes Chinese on Miami Beach. Flawless victory. Finish him.

What a relief! Having tried all other Chinese restaurants in the Miami Beach area, this was such a godsend. After watching that Netflix documentary In Search of General Tso, I just had to have some, but i’m from the East Coast where Chinese restaurants serve GREATFOOD, ever since I’ve moved here i’ve tasted nothing but disappointment, so I decided to try Mike’s. Granted I didn’t expect much because of the name for a Chinese restaurant, it makes me picture a frat boy cooking with a yankees hat backwards, but anyways. As the food came in, I opened the General Tso immediately, you always take 1 piece before putting it on your plate for good luck, or just because i’m such a hungry bastard so it’s better to believe it has a meaning. The chicken was PHENOMENAL, came in very crunchy, tangy and this is the best part: NOTOVERLYSWEET! Numerous Chinese restaurants overload the sauce with sugar, not Mike’s. I could taste the garlic and mild peppery flavors very well. The other dish I had was the Pepper Steak. Oh my goodness, after having been served tire rubber disguised as steak in other restaurants, finally a steak I can eat and not have to chew for 30 minutes. It is seasoned well, the steak has great STEAK texture and not some mystery meat(hey and if it is, at least it tastes just like beef…) Now, this is not THEBEST Chinese food that i’ve had but this place is a top contender even with the best restaurants up North and that’s saying a lot. For the location and price, it damn sure deserves a 5 star review and a tip of my fedora. Hooked on it for sure. Try it, you won’t regret it.

I’m writing this review after reading all the other reviews. Felt I should give my thoughts on this place. I’ve been ordering from Mikes for as long as they’ve been at this site. Food has always been avg to above avg. Their Honey Chicken is quite good although several years ago they would crisp the fried chunks. Seems like they changed their breading but still a good dish. I love their Chicken Wings(toss them at home with a wing sauce) and their Spicy Red Honey Wings(excellent). Both are polar opposites in taste but highly recommended. We’ve ordered trays of the spicy wings for parties and games. Always a hit with friends! Lately, the Special Fried Rice has improved considerably from their previous ok rice. Lots of add-ins in the rice. They have Family Pack Specials that are a great deal. They include lg special rice, main dish(honey chicken, general tso’s chicken or sweet and sour chicken) and 2 egg rolls. $ 20. Easily feeds 3 but will allow for a fourth mouth. They have 2 other larger specials for $ 35 and $ 45 and you can feed an army. Honestly, they’ve been at this hole in the wall location for more than 15 years. No eat in due to size of locale so it’s take out. Soups are ok. The combo dinners include an egg roll(avg), a small fried rice(ham, chicken), main dish(32 to choose from) and soup or soda. All for $ 9.95 and enough for two. Also, there’s an up charge for special fried rice. Honestly, all the reviews are just that. Reviews. You win some and lose some. This place has consistently delivered throughout the years. I live in the area and could drive 15 minutes for very good Chinese here on the beach but why bother. I recommend this place. I just ordered for dinner the Kung Pao Shrimp combo dinner and it did not disappoint. 6 med shrimp in a mild spice sauce with vegetables. Very fresh and tasty. First time ordering this dish. Also with the fried chicken wings. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Called this place on a wednesday night based on some of the reviews here. Was staying the courtyard marriott. Got chicken lomein and szechuan chicken with wonton soup egg roll and spring roll. Was doubtful but im glad i was proved wrong. Delivery was within 30 min, it came hot(important) and straight to the hotel door. Utensils included and well boxed. Food tasted as good as i would expect from a chinese spot. Decent flavors, yummy egg roll. Soup was a little bland. Removing pne star for the soup and bc the szechuan chicken was not spicy at all and he forgot to include hot sauce. Would order again if in the area.

The delivery wasn’t as slow as some others experienced here. The food was nothing special but it was enjoyable. Lady on the phone was kinda short. Delivery came without utensils although they knew I was in a hotel.

Took 1.5 hours for deliver, food was cold & disgusting. Called to complain and the lady that answered said ‘Well what do you want me to do about it?’ Done. Scratching this one off the list.

It certainly isn’t designer cuisine but it was perfect for delivery to my hotel when a week of boring same bland room service wouldn’t do. Very friendly service and large portions. Great convenient option.

little tel aviv is surreal and so is this little chinese eatery that sits kindof hidden at a shopping plaza on 47th street. this is definitely a delivery place as you may get scared if you actually walk into their location. i called for take out. the lady who picked up the phone and took my order had no manners. she didnt even say the basic things like ‘hello’ or ‘thank you’. so i picked up my orange chicken and i ate it cause i was hungry. i worked in the area for over two weeks and i never went back to this place. its scary, but im sure they do great on christmas day.

Wholeheartedly unimpressed and underwhelmed. Delivery took over an hour, the lo-mein was dry and bland, the pork had a weird flavor. Total meh.

Good Chinese food is hard to find in Miami. Mike’s china beach is not authentic, nor is it amazing. It is good, and the cuisine seems fresh, but it is not comparable to Chinese food in other cities, but it is some decent delivery food. I ordered General Tso’s chicken. Well. it was a chicken breast in a sauce that resembles general sauce, however it kind of missed the mark in a lot of areas. It was ‘good’, but not what I was expecting. I requested extra spicy, it was not. I would skip this dish. The egg rolls were OK, they appeared fresh and not frozen. They didn’t have a great taste, but just like the tso it was edible. My girlfriend ordered the Sweet & Sour chicken. which was pretty good. She loved it, but she does not like ‘authentic Chinese’ which you can probably tell by the sweet & sour selection. This is americanized-chinese cuisine aimed at a demographic that doesn’t know what real chinese cusine should taste like. I will probably be forced to order it again. next time I will just skip the General Tso’s.

I ordered the $ 9.99 Honey Chicken dinner combo for delivery. Came with: wonton soup(other choices: hot & sour and egg drop), egg roll, chicken fried rice(other choices: pork or vegetable), & a standard fortune cookie. No utensils were included. Customer Service: Curt, straight to the point ordering. Accent was not the easiest to understand. Option of cash or credit card. Delivery: I believe the delivery fee for my area was $ 2(it was scrawled on the receipt and barely legible). Took ~45 minutes for the delivery to arrive. Food: Mediocre but hot. –The wonton soup came with those crunchy egg noodles which were sadly stale and very much the opposite of crunchy… –Egg roll: I like Yummy’s better because it’s crunchier, filled with more filling and comes with a delicious mango sauce. This was somewhat crunchy on the outside but lacking much filling and the inside was a little doughy. No dipping sauce. –Chicken fried rice: A little bland but you get a very large amount of it! –Honey Chicken: I’ll be honest– was not that impressed. I ordered it because it was the dish they said they were known for and it really just reminded me of a honey chicken sopapilla. For those of you who may not know what a sopapilla is, it’s a fried pastry that can be deliciously drenched with honey– but when it comes to my chicken, I want its savoriness to stand out more so than the honey. As much as I love honey, this chicken was a tad too sweet for my taste. Overall it was OK. Portions ARE large but unless you’re a quantity over quality person, I wouldn’t say that should be a deciding factor. I would say from this experience, Yummy’s has a slight edge over Mike’s, but both places are nothing really to write home about. They do the job, let’s just say.

I preface this to say that like a few people here, I’m a New Yorker — proud and blunt. Chinese food courses through our blood. It’s a friggin’ mainstay. Pizza(real NY greasy pizza), giant bagels, knishes and hot dogs and a serious cup of java do as well but that’s beside the point. Maybe San Francisco can compare… but, I digress. Anyway, I’ve lived on Miami Beach for a few years and have on occasion bemoaned the dearth of decent Chinese food here, much less Chinese Food Delivery, which I’ll call CFD. If I had $ 100 for every time I longed for CFD; well… I’d be back in NYC or in SF in my fabulous loft. Still it’s hard to ignore the primal urges that arise from time to time. That need to taste a decent General Tsao’s once again. Or maybe Kungpao. Or that desire to sip at a hearty-flavored wonton soup. Anything. I’ve tried most of the ones in SoBe. I’ll stop there. My mother raised me right — if you have nothing good to say, silence is golden. Then someone mentioned Mike’s China Beach. I admit I was skeptical at first. I mean — Mike? — but whatever. So I looked it up on Unilocal and read some of the reviews. Skepticism slowly shifted to intrigue. I went to the website. And laughed. There’s not a hint of flash, no Miami music pumping in the background, not even photos of food. Honestly, I find there’s something ultimately charming in such a no-frills website. And this one is a winner. Bottom line, they’re not trying to be anything but what they are. I admire that. It speaks of confidence. I picked up the phone and dialed. I sighed with delight when the guy who answered brought me back to Brooklyn. He talked fast, got the order right on the first try and hung up. Delivery was promised in 45 minutes. Happily anticipating digging in, CFD arrived in 20 minutes. A total treat! Barely 5 minutes later, I was scarfing it down like a frat boy in a beer haze. It looked amazing. It tasted awesome. Between periodic rumbles of glee, I barely stopped for breath.(Anyone who knows me knows I’m a picky eater and rarely finish what’s put in front of me.) Hey, I’m not perfect. In any event, that wasn’t the case here. I ordered enough to feed a small village. I figured: go for broke. I ordered their honey chicken(wasn’t in the mood for General), special fried rice, spicy red honey wings, wonton soup and a 2 liter bottle of Coke. Then I took a nap. When I woke up I went at again. Should I be embarrassed to admit that? Well, I’m not. Not when memories of Nirvana still swarm. I’m not a foodie, by any means, but this place hit me in the heart — in a good way. So… it’s now my «reach for the phone for take-out» spot.

Ordered from here based ONLY on Unilocal reviews. Bed bound so no going out. I trust on my Unilocalers… Keep you posted . So, here’s the review. I am fully amazed… My history of Chinese is New York, or rather BROOKLYN… where there is a Chinese take out place on every corner… food is $ 6, delivery is 10 minutes, and the food is drowned in MSG heaven… So here or mostly everywhere you either have to sit down at fancy Chinese place(mostly chains) in order to get an Americanized version of «chinese»… So I gave up on Chinese in S. FL… So based on Unilocal reviews I decided to give Mike’s a shot… Yes, yes, yes… Based on Unilocalers I ordered the General Tzo’s chicken, the appetizer plate, wonton soup and a chicken lo mein… Portions are huge. They were quick… awesome. I was really impressed. The broth for the won ton had a great flavor! The General Tzo’s chicken was amazing, they were literally fillet’s of chicken breasts, legit chicken! and so yummy… the app plate was up to par, simple and to the point, a little bit of something… The thumb downs is the lo mein… it looked fine but had a burnt taste, like as if the pot had been burnt prior… that was a shame. My second favorite thing is having leftover Chinese… Don’t think I’m nasty, but I love day old cold Chinese, but the lo mein was not… just not… So, excellent spot… just was dissapointed with the lo mein…

Relatively fast delivery — CHECK! Reasonably priced food — CHECK! Delivery that arrives with crisp, fresh vegetables — CHECKCHECK!!! I’m IN! The BF has ordered several times for lunch, but we did a Saturday evening dinner delivery and were impressed. The dinner combos were each $ 10 and they came choice of soup(eggdrop, hot and sour or wanton), choice of fried rice and choice of eggroll or spring roll. There was a bit of a language barrier on the phone and the BF said the woman got irritated with him when he asked her(politely! I heard his end!) to repeat herself, but other than that, A+ Food arrived reasonably quickly and it was not overly oily or greasy ATALL. I ordered tofu with veggies — I had the choice of fried tofu, which I should have picked, or plain, which I did pick. Veggies were plentiful and crisp. I opted for the hot and sour soup(excellent!) and the spring roll, which had an overly mushroom funk to it. BF enjoyed his eggroll, I sampled the eggdrop soup(good) and he had shrimp and lobster sauce, which he thought was OK. Would definitely order from here again!

A group of us were staying at the Fontainebleau and got a little hungry. We thought about throwing down for a nice meal at Gotham Steak or Hakkasan but after remembering the 26 dollars I spent on one cocktail at the pool bar earlier that day, that idea was quickly nixed. Next thought? Pizza. But then someone suggested Chinese and it was a done deal. When it comes to Chinese, I am happy with just about everything. We ordered lots of things from beef lo mein to kung pao chicken and mongolian beef. But what blew me away? The sweet and sour chicken! This is not like your normal sweet and sour chicken that you have to pour the sauce on yourself. This comes ready to eat and was honestly the best I have ever had. We also got a bucket of chicken fried rice and let me tell you, this is one big bucket! We couldn’t even make a dent on it before going out to LIV but you can bet the entire thing was devoured when we got back from the club. The food was hot and they provided us with lots of condiments and utensils to eat it with. With all the options in South Beach, Mike’s definitely stands out as a great one.
