Frederic States Hair Colorist

For about 10 years I’ve had this gorgeous color done (the color in my pictures) all done from high lift toning. But the problem is, my stylist is about a 4 hour drive from my house so I was looking for something a little closer for when I can’t go there, when I stumbled upon Fredric’s Unilocal page with raving reviews. Well, those before and after pics of blondes? Yeah, he made my hair the horrendous BEFORE one!
We specifically spoke about him NOT using bleach on my hair (the day before AND the day of). I told him that high lift toning takes longer, yes, I will book a longer appointment if you need me to, but I do not want bleach on my head! I was VERY serious about this and he rolled his eyes but promised he wounld not use bleach. So… guess what he does? Uses bleach on my hair! I am so disgusted!!! Do not let the pictures of hair «he» did fool you. That is not how your hair comes out! Not even close! I wish. Now my hair is a damaged mess, I can’t belive fell for it! If you are looking for a good stylist who won’t lie to you. stay far away from him!!!

I have been going to Frederic since October of 2014. I came to him with my hair fried from a bad highlight job. I lost about a third of my hair due to breakage. My hair felt like hay, synthetic like. After my first color with him my hair began to regain a little shine and gradually became soft again. Each time back I had great improvements with the feeling and shine of my hair. Six months later it is growing thick and is soft and healthy again. I am so grateful to him for saving the length and totally recuperating my severely damaged hair. The color is so rich and natural too. Finally someone who listens to what I want and gives me an amazing result.

If you desire brilliance, look no further than Frederic. Not only is he super friendly but his knowledge about all things hair colour puts you at ease. I came in after going from blonde to mahogany in San Francisco (stupid move… don’t do it) and desperately wanted to move back to blonde. Frederic stripped my hair in the most gentle way (twice) and got me to the best available colour option in the time we had. He did what I thought was impossible, explaining the whole process. Want dedication, knowledge and a perfect result, book in with Frederic. I would fly around the world again for his service.

Just don’t go to anyone else in Miami. I first went to Frederic when I arrived in Miami and then took on many other friends’ recommendations to other stylists and well… i’m back and should never have gone anywhere else. Frederic is the best.. he fixed a real bad blonde on me and since then, i trust him implicitly with my colour. The guy is a genius.
I’m leaving Miami soon but seriously, this is a guy I’d travel to see.

Amazing!!! I went to the salon with carrot color hair, which looks terrible on my skin color he explained to me how that tone hide my green eyes… and patiently worked with my hair and transformed it into a nicer shade, he also explained i will take some time to get it to the perfect tone but did miracles with what I showed up…

Frederic is THE BEST! I had the great fortune getting my hair done by Frederic for an article I was writing about natural dyes 5 years ago. From that point forward, he has been my GO TO for color.
He matches your hair color to your skin tone and eye color. His technique is so natural, people are usually surprised that to learn I dye my hair. The process is super easy, no foils, no bad smelling products, and I’m in and out pretty quickly. My hair grows out naturally, and even though Frederic doesn’t live in LA anymore, I wait for him to come into town because he is the best!

Frederic States salon is so laid back and yet you get such high quality service. I recently stopped in for a gloss treatment. My dark hair was washing me out and I need a little shine. I got that and more! From Frederic’s friendly demeanor to the way his product restored my hair’s moisture, I was sad to leave the studio but happy to step out that night with hair to die for. Even my guy close friend noticed my locks. IMPRESSIVE!

Frederic is the god of hair. Apollo or something, if Apollo were really into hair. He also actually *listens* to what you want and works with you to make sure the shade is right for your coloring and lifestyle. I can’t think of anything else good to say, because the word «perfect» is driving everything else out of my head… Plus the salon is right by the water, so not only are you happy and pretty again, but you’re already at the beach when you leave!
