After a private party at STK we strolled over to Coco de Ville. We were a large group so we walked right in. We saw most of the people from the other private parties at STK in this smaller SOBE club which appears perfect for a private party. The bartenders were friendly and had no problem of keeping track of bill. The doorman were also very courteous. If you don’t want to valet park at the hotel, you can usually find metered parking in front of the W Hotel or the library. Make sure you over feed your meter.

I came here on a Monday with a group of friends. We get to the door and there is absolutely no line and it is damn near 1am. The bouncer opens the door for us when all of a sudden he realizes he miscounted how many guys were in our group. He counted three guys instead of four guys and immediately tried to pull ’ the only way to get in was for us to bottle service’. Well, I sort of have a slick tongue and replied, «bottle service on a Monday night at a dead-ass place.» «i do not think so». Plain and simple, he was trying to dupe us into spending more money then what was initially required to get in. I was not falling for it even if my friends were willing to buy the bottle. Immediately after my smart ass comment my friends said they wanted to do the bottle service, but the damage I had caused was done. He turned us away because his power trip ego was offended by me. 2.5 Stars Dear Coco De Ville, I am not sure where to start, so I guess the beginning is the best place. We came here as the first stop of a Bachelorette party, and a friend of ours had a hook up. We arrived around 11:30pm, still early by SoBe standards, and you were still rather empty, without much of a line at the front door. Your doorman, who was literally wearing flaming pants, was rather appalled that the Bachelorette was wearing the traditional tiara and veil, and asked to have it removed before we came inside. I was definitely not pleased by this and thought it was rather pretentious of him to ask. Definitely a buzz kill to the start of our night. Once inside, we grabbed a seat at a far table and regrouped, with my friend putting her veil back on as priority #1. Then we all grabbed drinks; a perfect follow up, until I paid for my Black Label on the rocks… Really, $ 18?! Ugh… Why?! Your décor is quite nice, I will say, and I had heard that this was your grand re-opening night after having some renovations done. The couches were soft and plush, although the tables were small and close together, so there wasn’t much room for sitting, and makes for a rather cramped table experience. Through our friend, the Bachelorette was treated to a bottle of vodka, and I have to say, the bottle setup was pretty nice, complete with individually wrapped Swedish Fish. A nice touch. We were very grateful for your courtesy, although we were still upset at how we were treated at the door. The only other thing we weren’t feeling was the music/DJ, but I guess it was because it was still early in the night. I expected to be treated a little better since it was a special night, however it seems that it didn’t really matter to you doorman. But, your staff inside definitely made up for it. Overall I would have to say this was just a satisfactory experience. Hopefully we’ll have better luck next time we come. Sincerely, SabrinaAnna*

I went this past weekend for the first time and I liked it, although I was surprised that the place wasn’t more crowded. Def a good mix of music, great venue, and strong drinks. I’d check it out again.

Question: What do Kojak, Lil Wayne, The Chordettes, and Coco Deville all have in common? Answer: They’re all lollipop fans. Free candy at a nightclub usually wouldn’t seem like a good idea but thanks to several glass jars full of sugary treats, it’s almost impossible to pass up. I’d recommend grabbing a Tootsie pop and finding out: How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop while dancing and drinking at Coco De Ville. Tragically, I hadn’t been to Coco until this past weekend. Yes, I was long overdue for a visit to this place. Although it’s no longer the newest, hottest venue Coco still scores points in my eyes for being a small, intimate, space with dance friendly music and an atmosphere designed for those looking to have fun without the pretense. I was surprised to see the lines for nearby neighbors like Louis when Coco seems to provide a simpler, better, less crowded time. As far as the front door and lines: It all seemed pretty laid back. There seems to be an experienced group of long-time, nightlife pros running the house at Coco de Ville. All hail those who know simple is better and provide free sugar highs.

Wow. I came here for a WMC event that was pretty unknown, the artists page said the show started at 11 so we got to the venue at around 1030 thinking there would be a line, however they didn’t open till 1130 so they sent us away. Whatever. We went to another bar and came back at 1130 and were the 2nd people in line. They did the typical South Beach thing and let in all the groups of slutty girls and people on the«guest list» which was not a shock. The bouncer went out of his way to be a real asshole though it was insane. Even though we were right there he was saying he didn’t know if he could let us in because it had a small capacity and got really rude about it. They were trying to con us into getting the overpriced bottle service, they were saying if we bought it they would let us in. My friend flipped the hell out and argued with him and decided he didn’t even want to see the show here because of the bouncer. I stayed because I had other friends on the way. It got to the point where even the artist performing came outside said that it was messed up and he would do what he could to get us in. There were people from Boca Raton also in line that came for the show in the same situation as us and some others. Eventually another person I knew showed up and we got in. Inside it is real small and holds about 150 people. Its mainly a big dance floor with some seating around it. The drinks are overpriced… even for South Beach. It was $ 17 or $ 18 for mixed drinks which is bogus. I had fun because of the concert but I would NEVER in my life come back here. NEVER. It is a hole in the wall nightclub attached to the side of the hotel that is tiny and WAY expensive. I have met asshole bouncers before but NEVER like this and for what a small place this was it was crazy.

Went there last night, and I had mixed feelings about it. A cute little place, with a lounge vibe and feel to it. Dimly lit and nicely decorated. Showed up around midnight, was not on any list and didn’t have any problem getting me and my 2 guests in. For some reason, all these hotel bars and clubs seem to think that 20 bucks a drink is fine, but I think the only people who are ok with that are tourists. I was raised in Miami, so I know drinking in South Florida can be expensive, but $ 59 for 3 drinks is too much. I try and stay away from anything on collins because of that. Also, collins seems to have a very high douche bag ratio, and last night did not disappoint lol. I am going to put this place under my «Try it once» file, and call it a night. It’s a cute place, but just not my cup of tea.

great new spot. small, lounge-y, intimate. Gets going around 1 am depending on the night, get there early to get in with less hassle. It gets very exclusive after 12:30. Good for Tuesday night, or friday or saturday. Bartenders and bottle service staff are attentive and actually give good service, imagine that! Door is right next to entrance to STK, so its a perfect and natural conclusion to a meal there.
