I’ve been there today morning to have some breakfast with my relatives. The menu does not contain many options. Why I didn’t like it? We asked the waitress to change croissant for bagel(in the continental breakfast option) and she said as it wasn’t on the menu, it was not possible. Then we agreed with the croissant. She returned 3 minutes later saying that they were out of croissants! The only option was wheat toast. In my opinion that’s what you get when people don’t try to help costumers and don’t care If you had a good or a bad experience.

I rate my restaurants on quality food, good service and atmosphere with this said I am stretching to give this place 3 stars. The service is extremely poor, we had to ask for water 3x’s and each time we did they seemed to be bothered by the idea. The food was slow to come out and when it finally arrived we were disappointed on the size of the salad. It was an «entrée salad» which consisted of 4 romaine lettuce leaves and some fixings on top. The other dishes were fine, nothing to rave about. Out of the 5 of us dining the best thing that we had was the hamburger!?! Really? I like a good burger however this isn’t why we came to this type of restaurant. We come to South Beach about 6 times a year and won’t be coming back to this restaurant any time soon. Save your money and time and go some where else.

I came here for brunch with my best friend before a day of beach fun. Although the parking was a nightmare(hello it’s the beach) the place seemed quite promising. The music was fun and the atmosphere was clean and modern. Plus it wasn’t filled with a bunch of tourists. It actually wasn’t filled with much of anybody… We ordered a mimosa for each instead of the unlimited Mimosa’s, Bloody Mary’s and Bellini’s, considering we were recovering from a hangover the previous night. However, god knows how much one mimosa is, for $ 20 you can mix and match. So we changed our minds… only to have the waitress repeat to us three times that that’s why she asked us in the first place if we wanted unlimited. Yikes lady, we are sorry… I ordered 2 fried eggs with a tortilla, salsa, guac and refried beans. Yummy… for a baby bird. Brunch is for hangovers, brunch is for drinking, but more importantly drunk is for munching. I mean brunch! The mac and cheese was really good, but the drinks meh. No wonder they’re unlimited. However I will say it was refreshing to be able to sit down and not be rushed out of an establishment. Even after we paid the drinks kept coming. I would be interested to try other items besides brunch. All in all not bad for the beach and def worth a shot.

I think I could definitely have liked this place more if the service wasn’t so weird. In the plus column: *The food was really good. I ordered the smoked salmon plate, and split a mac & cheese with my friend — both were excellent. *They offer $ 20 bottomless mimosas and keep serving you even after you’ve paid as long as you’re still sitting down which I always appreciate. *The music was great — old school rap mixed with indie tunes and who knows what else, but it was definitely fun. Unfortunately our waitress was really odd. At first we had just ordered one mimosa each, and then we decided f*** it, who are we kidding, we’re going to go bottomless. The waitress seemed really offended by this because she mentioned 3 times that she had made sure we didn’t want the bottomless offer. I could understand if the restaurant was busy(because she has to take off the other items she already charged), but it wasn’t. At 2pm on Sunday we were the only table in the entire place(which, in retrospect, didn’t really add anything positive to the experience, but I digress). Then when I went to order my food I asked for my smoked salmon plate without capers. She was like«are you sure?» and when I asked why her response was«oh it’s just because I’ve had it without capers and it’s not really good without them». I don’t know if she thought we were going to be sharing my bagel, because I have no other idea as to why she thinks I would care whether she likes the food I want to order or not. I would give it another chance because I really enjoyed the food and feel that the place has potential, but hopefully by that point the waitress with no customer service skills has moved on.

Went for Miami Spice lunch but ordered off the regular menu. The good: Quinoa Fried Rice with a option for Pork Belly was amazing. Dish is served to you with 2 sunny side up eggs beautifully presented to you on top. The dish could have been good without the pork, but pork lovers WILLNOT be disappointed. The bad: I also ordered a salmon burger. It comes with a side of fries which were delicious. When your side is better than your dish… Oh boy! To start, salmon is a fish which when you put a thick patty in a bun, there may be a tendency to over cook. And yes it was. No matter how much sauce or mango chutney you put over the patty, an over cooked patty is an over cooked(dry) patty. Just left half of it on the plate and paid cheque. But really enjoyed quinoa fried rice!

A small group of friends visited Charles Street for a tasting menu. Incredible food, fresh and creative along with great cocktails that only an expert mixologist can achieve. Salted beats with goat cheese and olive oil, risotto faro mushroom with oysters, brussel sprouts salad with avocado, scallops with roasted cauliflower with walnuts and NY Strip Steak with braised Short ribs with blueberry BBQ sauce. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

By far delicious food! Came for Sunday brunch because I’m a mimosa lover. The mimosas took longer than the food to Come out, I’m not sure if they had to go out and pick the oranges from the tree or not Bc it took so long. Our waitress was extremely rude and would ignore us(little French lady wearing glasses) If it wasn’t for her I would have given a better rating! The cblt(something like that) was delicious!

Came in for Sunday brunch and to watch the football playoffs. I had read reviews about slow service. Not in our case. We did sit at the bar though. The quality of the food, and the friendliness of our bartender Mike, completely won us over. The refried beans in the huevos rancheros were probably the best I’ve ever had. The vodka in the Bloody Mary is infused with jalapeños in house. The décor is clean, modern, and comfortable. The industrial style light fixtures and bar chairs give it a fun hipster vibe. And… as if it couldn’t get better, when I checked in on Unilocal,I got a 15% off dinner coupon, which I plan on using before the end of my trip. Did I mention $ 20 all you can drink mimosas and bloody Mary’s!!!

Came here late night after an event. We weren’t that hungry but wanted a bite to eat. I loved this little place. We ordered the garlic shrimp which were so different and delicious! We also ordered the risotto — YUMO. Winner. The waiter was so great. The atmosphere, the service and the food were exceptional here. You can’t go wrong. I would definitely come back.

Charles St. has deceptively high Unilocal ratings. If you do decide to go, be prepared for extremely slow service and so-so food. Oddly brushed-off by one of the waiters when we came in with our reservations. then when finally seated, we had to wait more than 20 minutes for them to give us water and even longer to get a menu. Seriously? You can imagine how long it took for the food to come out. I enjoyed my quinoa dish(it’s a bit oily), but everyone else’s dishes were barely satisfactory. The portions are pretty small for the price, so chances are you may leave hungry. Bah, the pancakes even came out lukewarm. The service is oddly disjointed and you have to ask for basic things, like cream to go with coffee.

As my San Diego friends will attest to, a lot of my Unilocal review is influenced by a brunch joint’s coffee service. Charles St. fell flat on that front as well as a few others. It all started when I walked in the place and waited at the counter for far too long to be seated. They only have a few servers and no hostess, but they should have just told me where to sit before they attended to their seated customers. My first coffee arrived quickly, only for me discover a dirty mug with lipstick on it. This was replaced, but my second and third cup I had to flag down my server for while the lady next to me was being offered more coffee by her waitress before she even finished. I had the eggs benedict per my server’s recommendation. It was good, but not the best I ever had. And at $ 12, I found the portion a bit small. I guess this is South Beach. I was also brought the wrong check. No big deal but just another customer service thing to illustrate why I didn’t rate this place higher. I expect a little more adetailon to detail, especially when they add a mandatory 18% gratuity.

Found this place on Unilocal and got all excited to try a possible hidden gem in south beach. Yeaaa, no. The service was terrible from the moment we sat down. It took an absurd amount of time to bring out each average tasting dish we ordered. I was nostril flaring by the time the entrée finally came out. In fact, I wrote this whole review during the time it took for the dessert to come out. The soup was terrible and the«jumbo lump crab» inside of it tasted like a tiny lump of cheese. The chicken sandwich wasn’t too bad but the s’more dessert was barely worth the calories. I could’ve made a better s’more at home with my microwave. Not returning to this place.

We came here based solely on Unilocal reviews while driving around the beach trying to think of a great place for lunch that wouldn’t kill our wallets. Charles St. was a great little spot with chic clean décor that I would go to again. Unfortunately the restaurant was completely empty except for the two of us and the bartender/server! Not that it matters that there weren’t other patrons, but a restaurant with a busy vibe can set the stage for the dining experience. My boyfriend ordered the Charles St Burger on brioche with french fries. It was HUGE and super delicious. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich on 8-grain with roasted red peppers, bacon, goat cheese(!!!), etc. Everything was fresh, prepared thoughtfully, and nicely presented. The beers came in giant cold mugs that were most refreshing on these hot Miami summer days. We shared one cocktail the Jalisco Flower… the st germain, fresh grapefruit, and tequila were perfect together, that being said the bartender had serious skills. Even when armed with a great cocktail list, badly measured proportions can ruin a drink. This one had us both raving. We didn’t stay too long because our service was so fast, but I can see why Unilocalers gave this place such positive reviews. Hopefully next time we return it will have more business!!! Almost forgot to mention the GREAT prices… for the quality, location, service, and vibe the price point was amazing. $ 6+ for beers, cocktails all around $ 12, nice wine list, and the most expensive entrée was around $ 27 I believe.

My friends and I came to Charles St. for lunch last Friday and was pleased with the overall experience. This is a small restaurant, but it has a lot of character, which I like. The drinks were great, and the waiter was nice. We all ordered Salmon Burgers, and we each had the same opinions. The burgers were good, but definitely not great. There was so much going on in the burger that the buns turned soggy. I do not like soggy bread, so I suggest that substitute the current bun for a heavier dough that can take all of this wetness. I also had a salad, and it was very light and refreshing. I would visit this place again, so I recommend it to all!

Went here for breakfast this morning and it was great music, very cool vibe, and great food. I had a CPR drink and a eggs Benedict then ordered the Nutella French toast to go! I totally needed to eat a lot because of my disappointing dinner. I had a taste of my brother’s bacon and hash brown quesadilla which was also yummy! I loved how close this place is to our hotel… just walking distance…

My girlfriend and I stayed across the street at the Shore Club for a girls getaway weekend. We found St. Charles right on our first day and we went there for breakfast every day after. On the strip it is affordable, delicious, consistent and has excellent service. I got a cappuccino and it was absolutely amazing(I like strong, intense coffee and that’s what I got). I also ordered the St. Charles omelette(egg whites, spinach, mushroom and feta) and also made my own omelette, another time. I am picky about my breakfast food and I was pleased with both options. I would highly recommend! And if I am ever back in town, I will definitely be stopping by again.

Charles St. is the new spot located on Collins at the Boulan hotel. Best price point chic restaurant in the area. The food, ambiance, and staff are delightful! Drinks/Bar: Full bar that is hosted by personable and friendly bartenders. They go out of your way to make your drink feel special. Dinner Menu: MUST try the branzino or the Salmon. Words can not describe how tasteful these dishes are. The tomato mozzarella and meatball apps are great starters! Lunch & Late Night: Salmon or Charles st Burgers are a prime selection. Breakfast: Absolutely delicious pancakes and omelet. Happy hour special 2 for 1 from 5 – 7:30p and they apparently have Sat/Sun bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s for brunch. $ 20! I’m there next Sunday!

The restaurant itself is beautiful. The location is good as well. The food and service, however, are unremarkable. We live nearby and finally stopped in for some late evening snacks. I had 1 glass of wine, and we shared the tuna tartare, sauteed mushrooms, and sauteed kale. The tuna tartare was fresh, but flavorless. The mushrooms were greasy, and the kale had some red pepper flakes thrown in. Even though we were the only diners in the restaurant, the waitress was no where to be found when I wanted to request some lemon to flavor the tuna. Even asking for the check seemed to be a bother. The price was also pretty inflated considering our order.

Driving around South Beach looking for a place to eat quickly and we stumbled into Charles St. It just opened, had a welcoming, trendy décor and filled with a lot of really good looking ppl, so naturally– we fit right in! :P We started with the tuna tartar, which was seasoned well and quite yummy. My husband ordered short ribs, which was sweet, soft and plentiful. I would def recommend trying if you are into ribs. I ordered fish with a light salad. It was light, refreshing and quite good. I wouldn’t mind if it came with a little extra salad. As far as service, everyone was very nice and accommodating.
