Visiting from Cali and came here for some empanadas and a chocolate filled croissant. The croissant was so good I ordered another one for delivery the next morning. The empanadas were okay, the beef one was kind of plain but the spinach and cheese empanada is to die for.

It was Christmas eve 2015. I just felt lonely and miserable. For the first time in my entire lifetime I was spending the night all alone. My children went to Argentina to vacation with their mother and it seemed that nobody cared enough about me in the whole world. EXCEPTONE. Facing the all too familiar discouraging dilemma of swallowing an insipid frozen dinner or to get dressed up to dine out with total strangers I received a phone call out of the blue. «Hello, it’ s Bettina ftom the ‘Bodegon’, «she said. «I wanted to thank you for the nice review you wrote in Unilocal about my ‘empanadas’. How are you doing?» «Not quite in the pink but I’ll try to survive this dreadful night,» I said. «Why are you so down? What are you going to eat.» «Nothing much. «I responded. «Don’t worry. We were about to close the shop but before we do, I’ll send you a nice dinner with my husband. Merry Christmas, dear.» Within half an hour her husband did show up with an oven baked stuffed pork sirloin(we call it a «carre de cerdo» in the River Plate region) and one potato and one mixed salads. The deliciuous meal magically transported me to the gone Christmas eves in our family home in Colon, Uruguay, where my dear grandmother Yolanda and my mother Gladys cooked together for the whole family. COMPLIMENTICARISSIMABETTINA. There may be hundreds of choices for Italian and/or Italian-American restaurants in the«Banana Republic of South Florida» but only a few carry the centennary exacting culinary traditions of the«tavola calda» of the peninsula. A hospitable place where the owners daily prepare exquisite food from scratch. A little recommendation to whomever msy be reading this and plans to visit the place. Don’t get fooled by its shabby exterior appearance. Just go in, sit down and say four words. «Salve…Please serve me.» You will be gladly surprised. ARRIVEDERCI.

Horrible. Never come here. We were skeptical about coming because the outside looked a little off but we decided that sometimes there are good hole in the wall places, and maybe this could be one of them. We were so wrong. The place itself was kind of dirty. The people that were there were just sketchy. The service was okay I guess. But the food. Omg. We got up and paid for our food and left without eating. The eggs were so greecy it was gross. The cooked ham I ordered came raw. And in the toast said it was Cuban style toast(as seen in the picture) and it was just regular white bread. My boyfriend ordered a choripan and the sausage was completely raw. Therefore we didn’t eat. Got up and paid the bill and left. A complete waste of $ 24.

Really tasty cortaditos!!! Can’t get enough. The food is okay not the best. I would probably not come back for the food but will be coming back for the cortaditos. I will at some point also taste one of there smoothies. They have a great selection! Reasonable prices, good service, mediocre food. Won’t hurt to come on and try it!

A little taste of Argentina on north beach. This is a family run business that just gets it. This is north beach and they understand that. Meaning, the prices are right and the empanadas hit the spot. They got a lot going on here including appealing decór and delicious smoothies and juices.

Great little spot on Normandy Island. Everything seems so fresh and homemade. I had a few empanadas at the counter. All were great with the spicy chicken really standing out. I will come back for more, but really cannot wait to try a tortilla. Their Spanish omelettes come in a wide variety and all look amazing.

Wonderful! Simple homemade food! You feel in South America. My favorite is the breakfast with coffee. Ask for Claudia! You feel at someone’s home!
