I always enjoy stopping by to thumb through the used books and records, and shop for unique gift items. I do wish that they had more expanded hours, it would be nice to stop in after dinner on some evenings.

Wow, a true gem. I loved this place. Im in love with Metuchen in general but this shop is a place you must not miss if you feel passionate about reading, drinking coffee, listening to good music(it was live when I was visiting) and vintage clothing. Yes, I said vintage clothing. They have a downstairs part where they have a little boutique full of beautifull vintage clothing. The selection is of wonderfull taste, its in excelent vintage condition. The upstairs part is where the coffee shop/bookstore/live music take place. I made a quick stop here on my way back from the mall, I only had 20 minutes before my train arrived, the train station is conveniently located very close, so you dont even have to bring your car. I couldnt stay longer or shop like I would haved looooved but this place is so unique and worth visiting, Im definatly coming back next week and Ill b sure to have the time becouse they reeeally have great things that I would like to explore more and possibly purchase. The prices were great really. Like you dont even have to spend much to walk out with something great, besides the delicious $ 1 expressoo. The owners, a young couple, were present and very welcoming. The crowd was very nice also, like I said, I wasnt there long but it all felt very nice and heartfull

This was my first chance to come back since my visit in November 2014, the records have been on my mind. I knew that most of what they had I wouldn’t be interested in but I had found that copy of Graffiti for $ 3 so it should be worth a look. It wasn’t. You know I have the feeling I had already purchased the only $ 3 in the place. Their low prices seem to be $ 7.99, many albums are $ 9.99 and many more are even higher. I saw Beatles albums for $ 29.99, a Buddy Holly $ 75.00, you can tell that they use a price guide or eBay for their pricing. Are there Beatles albums worth $ 29.99? Yes, and even more but all of these, Beatles ’65, Beatles VI and Yesterday and Today were later pressings with the gold record award emblems. I couldn’t vouch for their grading on the vinyl, I didn’t bother to look I left without buying anything and doubt that I’d return, I already have places I go and find albums more to my liking and for better prices. Please understand, I know it’s their business and their records and they have the right to price them as they see fit, that’s understood. My comments are based on my own experience in buying records for the past fifty years and what I see in other shops that I frequent currently.

I thought it was a nice little place. Clean and the owner was very friendly and kind. I was able to find what I needed too. It seems like a nice place to hang out.

The successor to Raconteur. Cleaner with more space. I got some cheap comics there, but I’m not crazy about the vibe, especially when the owner kept trying to sell me overpriced desserts. Actually surprised it’s still around. If you go further down Main Street towards Route 27, there’s another unassuming used bookstore. Check that place out instead.

Live music, poetry readings, book readings, comedy shows, Judaism Classes every Monday night @6.30pm. Eclectic, diversity is always on the front door of the store, all that one would want to have a local book store. They keep adding and changing to the list of events and now with the summer starting you know it will be a great time to see what they have to offer.
