We looked at 15 different apartments in Metairie before choosing to live at Severn Pointe. What sold us on Severn Pointe were the recently updated appliances(you wouldn’t believe how outdated some apartments are), all the units have a washer/dryer combo, the property is gated, 24-hour maintenance is available, and it is extremely close to the interstate and essentially to New Orleans(I work across from the dome and it literally takes me 10 minutes to get to work on a typical day). The complex is also only a mile from Veterans Blvd. which has endless food and shopping for miles. The complex is seriously in a perfect location. A few honest complaints I have are that the walls are«painted» with that popcorn spray paint which is extremely unsightly and damages any furniture or body part you rub against it. A few of the people that live in the complex are pretty trashy(chicken bones and dog poop everywhere!!!), but thankfully every morning Severn sends out very friendly guys to pick up some of the trash on the property. I live in one of the few two story apartments with a balcony that I waited a year for — just know the balcony has absolutely no privacy and I recently have reported a problem with new, constantly-smoking neighbors which prevents us from even using our balcony anymore. We are hoping that issue can be resolved somehow in which case I will update this review. Overall, the staff is very friendly and we have been pleased the past 4 years living at Severn Pointe.
