Surprisingly good snowballs for a small location hidden on a side street. Came here with a friend and decided to try something other than my usual cherry with sweetened condensed milk. I ordered the strawberry shortcake stuffed with frozen yogurt. The syrup was really good and the prices are very reasonable. Overall staff was nice and the snowball tasted really good. The ice isn’t as fine as Sno-la and the service is a little slow but still a solid place for snowballs and i’ll defintely be back.

This is by far my favorite snoball stand. no, they don’t have any super fancy signature flavors, but that’s okay because it allows them to perfect the classics. i get their groom’s cake(chocolate and wedding cake) usually, or i just get wedding cake crème with condensed milk. either way, the flavor is perfection. they have the best ice, which is shaved about as thin as possible. the prices are actually average to low, and that’s considering they just raised each cup price about 25 cents. they have a nice variety of sugar free options. they have 2 locations, which is bonus. they stay open at least an hour later than many snoball stands. the employees are all really great, but there’s one girl in particular, whose name i can’t seem to remember at the moment. she’s been at the papworth location for at least 3 summers, and she’s very sweet. i wish i could remember her name, so i could give her some props for doing a great job, especially because she’s trained many(if not most/all) of the other employees. i highly recommend lou-lou’s! i truly believe that many people over pay for some fancy snoball from some famous place that’s been on the food network too many times(like plum st. snoballs). lou-lou’s has the friendliness, the flavors, the ice, the prices, the hours, and the two central locations. it’s everything all rolled into one awesome snoball stand! enjoy!

The only snowball stand that I have seen so far that offers pomegranate as a flavor as well as 15 different sugar free flavors, most of any stand around. I love the pomegranate flavor, they are generous with syrup. Prices are about the same compared to other stands.

These are the best snowballs north of Plum Street. The best and softest ice of any stand in the greater NO area! They offer a wide variety of sugar free flavors which taste great, and are sweetened with Splenda, which is not the case at most other places. For the kiddos: they even offer clear flavors which Moms love and kid size too! I have heard that the nachos are pretty awesome although I have not tried them! This is my go to place for snowballs all year!

I would have never even known that this place existed except for the fact that I work in the area and do business with a couple of places on Papworth, and thus have driven by more than a few times. If they’re open, there is always at least one customer there… and usually there’s a crowd. So, when summer hit this year and brought the sno-ball urge with it, so I finally decided to try out Lou Lou’s. I’m pretty boring when it comes to flavors, so I can’t speak for anything fancy, stuffed or with condensed milk. But the flavors I have had have all been good and amply applied. Of course, the real test for when it comes to a sno-ball is the ice. I’m no expert, but to my mouth, Lou-Lou’s is pretty spot on. No chunks, no crunching, just snow flake like flecks that melt on your tongue. I wouldn’t make the drive to Metairie just to go here, but I definitely have been hitting them up on the regular since my first visit if I’m at work and craving an afternoon pick-me-up.

If I didn’t have a wife that wasn’t a snowball connoisseur, I would have never known that Lou-Lou’s even existed. Located on Papworth Street in Metairie, this small stand is just a hundred feet off the«river side» of Veterans Memorial Blvd. In the world of NOLA /Metairie snowball stands, this place is relatively new and offers most standard flavors; including a dual flavored soft serve ice cream machine. The only flavor I have sampled so far was the chocolate cream; which was pretty good. The chocolate was not so sweet that all you tasted was sugar; so the real chocolate taste came through. They’ve got the ice perfect, and you’ll never confused this with shaved ice, as it literally disappears as soon as it hits your tongue. I also had the opportunity to try the vanilla soft serve ice cream and it was also good to go. The best thing about Lou-Lou’s is the location, as it’s one of the few locations located at the foot of Vets. And there was also no real line to speak of, so I was able to walk right up and get my fix.
