I’m usually a fan of Church’s but it was very lacking today. The chicken wasn’t even warm and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. And to top it off the Dr. Pepper tasted funny.

Who doesn’t love fast food chicken once in a while? Especially when you are getting ready to watch the Saints game on TV. Not many arguments in NOLA anyways. The service at this location was running rather slow. Given the fact that they were busy and tons of other people including myself had ordered lots of chicken might have been why it took so long to get our stuff. To make up for our wait the manager came out and gave us all free soft drinks. Which I had no objections to. My biggest gripe about Church’s is that the chicken is usually so bland. Its not like Brothers, Popeyes or Manchu’s that use a lot of seasoning. Instead they try to be more like KFC. Sorry but I would rather go to the first 3 restaurants I just mentioned. In short this place is only good if you like bland, flavorless chicken.

I drive by this Church’s every day on my work commute. Finally I decided to stop and get a quick dinner on my way home. Boy was that a mistake. I ordered a chicken strip meal. My biscuit was tiny, barely 2 inches across and tasted like a lump of flour. I could barely detect the signature honey, which was part of whole reason I went to Church’s. My fries had a distinct chemical taste to them. I can only think it was from extremely dirty grease in the deep fryer. One bite and I had to stop eating them. The best part of the meal was the chicken, which is a sad state to be in. I must be spoiled with other chicken places. Church’s strips were bland. Super bland. Like no seasoning on them at all, not even some salt. The batter just slid right off the chicken with the first bite. I’m talking the whole of the batter, not just a small piece. Avoid this location.
