Good food and service are good. We eat here quite often and have rarely had any issues. The prices are fair for the portions and quality — for the best deals, you cannot beat the late-night-menu specials.

How can you beat a full prime rib dinner for $ 6.99. I’ve eaten this special several times and I will keep coming back. The Rib basket is also excellent. It’s not fine dining and not worth driving an hour to get to, but if you are passing through Mesquite this is the place to eat.

I would like to say that the coffee has gotten better. It served right away, it is hot and fresh. I have noted that in the past few months, the giant ham steak is much fresher than before. All in all, a nice place to have breakfast at a very reasonable price!

Great food, excellent service, incredible price, what else can you ask for? $ 6.99 prime rib between 4−10pm, $ 3.99 breakfast, best café restaurant in Nevada!

Our family comes once or twice a year if not more to the Tuacahn in St. George. Mesquite is only a short drive away and since the hotels are cheaper, we stay in Mesquite and make the commute to St. George to see the plays. My family loves the Ham Steak special and it is a great value for the amount of food you get. Tonight we ate for dinner and it was just as great! The service is usually fast and friendly, the casino gets busy therefore sometimes there is a longer than usual wait but definitely worth it. We are and will continue to be repeat customers.

This place is great for the price and if you have an rv there is parking for your rig across the street. This was a plus for me. $ 2 parking. It’s not the best food in the world but better than McDonalds. The service was great and my kids loved the soft serve ice cream.

Now I was not happy with my room at the Virgin River, but dinner was not too bad. I was exhausted from being on the road for 12 hours so in hindsight if I had been willing to drive I probably would not have eaten here, but starving and sleepy this was just fine. The price was decent, the portions were good, and the service was polite. I had their chicken strips which were good and everyone around me was raving about their prime rib.

A dump, but 6.99 prime rib? Can you beat $ 6.99 prime rib? No. No you can’t. Because here’s the rub – prime rib, and the beef rib cap, and the ribeye roast, are such fantastic cuts of meat, you really can’t go wrong. As long as you don’t overcook it. Whatever you do, don’t overcook it. Even though the casino was one large, depressed, rundown, completely uncomfortable and entirely unattractive hotel(think Circus Circus rather than, well, anyplace else), they didn’t overcook it. They overcooked the beans and the roll while undercooking the potato, but the star or the show, that little slice of beef heaven, was a perfect medium rare. Jackpot.

Great breakfast spot. 3 pieces of bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs(seemed like 3), hash browns, and 2 pancakes for $ 3.99! My dad got ham steak, 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast for $ 4.99. The service was great. My coffee cup was never empty.

Stopped here for lunch on the way from Vegas to Zion National Park with friends — the food was so-so but we had great service, so I’m bumping it from 3 to 4 stars! It’s located within the Virgin River Hotel/Casino, pretty visible on the front left side as soon as you enter. The food is pretty standard American diner/café food and quite cheap(most dishes between $ 6 – 11). Between my dish and tasting some of my friends’, I tried: — River Burger(burger with cheese, Canadian bacon, and fried egg): for some reason the fried egg was huge and poking out of the burger. They didn’t ask how I wanted the burger done(I usually get medium) so it was pretty well-done and dry, which made it a below-average burger for me. The side wedges were yummy with some salt, pepper, and ketchup. — Grilled cheese and soup: the grilled cheese was also pretty average/nothing extraordinary, would have been better with tomato soup. The corn chowder that it did come with was actually pretty good by itself. — Asian chicken salad: the lettuce was mostly iceberg I think but I did like the overall flavor of the oriental dressing. I was impressed with the service that we received here. In particular, they graciously made up another dish for one of my friends after there was a mix-up with it not being vegetarian. They also automatically split the bill for 11 people without extra charge, which was great. Our waitress was friendly and came back frequently to see if we needed anything. Overall, not a bad place to stop on the road for some food and maybe some gambling. Just don’t go in expecting amazing 5-star food.

Ohhh River Café, let me first say, in a world where restaurant jam dispensaries only hold the unwanted concorde grape and orange marmelade, your well-stocked supply of blackberry jam was impressive. Bravo! Unfortunately, it could not outweigh the soggy, inedible pieces of chicken you flattered with the title of «chicken fingers.» They were, according to the wise words of my brother, «soft.and mushy. and disgusterfacing.» My mother’s french toast received her choice words of «least favorite french toast ever.» However, Dad IS a fan of your ham steak! It is just a shame he had to share it with the rest of the family who could not eat from their plates of inedibleness. Served with a side of hashbrowns, clearly heated from the freezer, and a pair of eggs that could easily have bounced and escaped off the plate. Fortunately, the eggs were flat, so this did not occur. Despite the dry chicken, I am very pleased with the Marty’s Salad I ordered. It was the first time I have found a salad to be the most appetizing order on the table. Keep chopping those salads Marty. P. S. It also disappointed my father greatly that the kids behind us received crayons and he didn’t. Real men like coloring too.

You can’t miss the River Café, the Virgin River Hotel & Casino post billboards for it miles before you reach Mesquite. You can’t beat the cheap prices, but don’t expect fine dining. We stopped here for a late breakfast – $ 3.99 for eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and pancakes. A lot of mediocre food for very little money. So, if you’re just trying to fuel up, rather than dine, this is a great place to stop along I-15.

The food was really good. Most of us got the fried chicken basket which was on special for 5.99, and it was really good. I got the French dip and it the prime rib and au jus both had good flavor. Specials are priced well and the regular menu items aren’t too expensive either. The restaurant isn’t anything fancy, but the people were nice.

On par with a Denny’s, this home style café served up yummy breakfast super quick. Deuces special was tasty with fluffy pancakes and perfectly cooked eggs. SO much food for $ 3.99! We grabbed coffee at Starbucks and brought it in. Great value, and very kind, friendly staff.

Ok it’s pretty good. I ordered the prime rib special and my friend ordered the fried chicken basket and chili. The prime rib was served as ordered(rare) but it was a very thin slice. The baked potato could have used a minute in the microwave. The fried chicken was a bit over cooked but the crust was acceptable. I’m from the south so acceptable is pretty good for fried chicken. Good bargain if you order the specials! I did try going to this restaurant twice before but was put off by the long lines. The first time we bagged it in and went to the buffet instead. Wow THAT was a very good choice. I highly recommend the buffet!

Good food and great prices. Reminds me of Denny’s of old with a 3.99 good breakfast.

I don’t think this place is actually called the Chuckwagon any more, but it’s probably the same place. Basically, if you serve me a cheap, tasty breakfast I’m going to be happy. I ordered the Dueces Specail — 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, hashbrowns and toast(which I didn’t get) all for like $ 3.99? Hell yeah. ESPECIALLY coming from Vegas where just thinking about a meal like that will cost you $ 10. I was really hoping my brother would have ordered the fish and chips — if this is the same place, it looks AMAZING.(instead he had tacos that he said were pretty good.)

Portions are ridiculous. Fish and chips could easily serve three people… And it’s delicious. Planning on returning every time I am traveling through… And really cool with my five year old ;)

Deuces special for $ 3.99(2 eggs, sausage, bacon, and hot cakes) all day. Steak and eggs special $ 5.99 from midnight– 5AM. The ham steak breakfast is huge. I always share this. It’s a huge portion that comes with hash browns, 2 eggs and toast for $ 4 bucks. Perfect place to grab breakfast if you’re staying at the Virgin River. The entire menu is cheap. We always eat here before heading to Zion. Perfect for big or small groups.

I don’t really know what you are expecting. It’s cheap food. It felt like something out of a bad 70’s movie. Like were all just sitting around waiting for Las Vegas to throw up on us. Get me some gold horned rimmed glasses, a white leisure suit, and some aligator boots baby because I am coming to Mesquite and I am going to rock this town! Everything was cooked. It was dones. I got those pancakes, you know, with the scoop of butter on them. I got the waitress in the red apron, with ehr hair done up and just charming as can be. For 3.99 I ain’t expecting much of anything except foods in my tummy.
