I took my dog here 2 years ago. He was not breathing right. They kept him on oxygen for two days and it cost me 1500. They told me his heart was ok. I asked several times it we needed to prepare ourselves and they said no he just needed oxygen. We picked him up on Monday and the following weekend he had seizures. I took him to my vet on Monday to find out he had congestive heart failure. I asked why the emergency vet said his heart was fine and my vet said they do not know what they are doing. My best friend died 3 months later. They lie to get more money out of you and I trusted them!

I visited this clinic 2 times with both my dogs. I wish it would never happen to my babies but it did and I had nowhere to go. The staff and doctors are very professional and understanding. They will not only help your pet but also comfort you. There is no waiting line, help comes almost immediately. They will examine an animal and make an estimate for you. Prices are very high as anywhere in this business, so please expect to spend a significant amount of money here. After a help is done if needed they will give all required medication and advises — all written on a paper.
Ive met lots of people there while waiting — everybody was very happy with services and doctors.
So its a great place and I am very happy that we have it in Mesquite in case of any emergency.

I CALLED LAKE RAY HUBBARD EMERGENCY looking for care for a cat, this girl answering acted like she could not hear the question i was asking, A VERY SIMPLE ONE, which was care for a cat that was not mine, she proceeded with heartless fees and again i stated to her, what can be done for a cat i do not own, she was clueless when i asked questions and then the final question to her was, is there a clinic or shelter or anything she could point me to that would help this cat, HER ANSWER WAS NO, SHE WAS CLUELESS, then TIM — i name him because Unilocal IS DISCRIMINATING AGAINST MY POST FOR NOT PERTAINING TO THIS BUSINESS WHEN IT ABSOLUTELY DOES… got on the phone and all I got from him was a cold callous conversation — seeing in this company what i saw i proceeded to search elsewhere for someone not looking for money and actually cared to lift a finger to help this cat in dire need. It makes me wonder why those caring for animals are in the business and it makes me wonder, has this clinic ever accepted donations ?? WITHIN ONE MINUTE OF ENTERING THE DOOR OF TOWN AND COUNTRY off of Forest lane in Dallas, and I mean within minutes of my arrival, the doc helped me and the most important thing, HE CARED, HE GAVE THAT CAT LOVE AND TREATMENT, AND A COST I COULD AFFORD THAT MOMENT, I ALLOWED THEM TO KEEP THE CHANGE because it is not about money as it was so obvious to me at LAKE RAY HUBBARD EMERGENCY /​/​/​/​oh, and then TRAVIS from their company threatened me — an open ended threat that i am reporting to the police and my lawyer. SO, not only a bad place to consider asking for humane help but they threaten you as well.

Staff present 24 hours. Super nice staff. Very detailed about cost upfront. Basic visit fee about $ 100. Then very reasonable rates from there on. They will also give recommendations for lower cost vets if it not an emergency that does not need to be done immediately. Highly recommend, years of dealing with different vets and this place by far has been the best.

So thankful for this place. We had quite the scare with our cat late after all of the normal vet offices are closed.
After looking at reviews of several in the area, we found that most emergency vets seemed to be aimed at cost more than anything. Hesitantly, we drove to the animal clinc just down the road from here after speaking with them on the phone, only to be turned away as the doctor had left. They directed us to this clinic and I think it was for the best.
Our cat was treated by Sarah Stallman, and we could not be happier with the emergency care they provided. They were upfront about charges and the cost for injections was not any higher than our normal vet. Sarah provided us many options, explained in detail and drawing the explain what could be causing the issue. This was all after midnight!
We were so impressed by Sarahs treatment, we would love to have her as our primary vet. She showed great judgment, walked us through our options and showed genuine concern for our pet.

They are the best ever!

I had to bring my little Yorkie here at 10:30 at night due to a «honking» noise she had been making for many hours. It happens whenever she gets excited and always goes away after she calms down — but not this time. Unfortunately, I had no idea she had a condition known as collasping trachea which is a common condition in small breed dogs.
I sped from Rockwall to Mesquite frantic when I arrived at the hospital (especially when I didn’t see anyone manning the front desk!), but they have a 2-​way mirror and someone appeared within a few seconds and immediately took her from my arms to a back area for treatment. I was directed to an exam room where forms were waiting for me to fill out. Within a few minutes, a technician explained that they had given her medication to calm her down and would need to take a $ 200 x-​ray and asked if I was OK with that. I didn’t have much choice so I agreed. Later she came back with a list of approximate charges and two variations of what it would cost. While taking your beloved pet to an emergency clinic in the middle of the night is NOT cheap, I was grateful that they were open and were able to treat her. They were very upfront on the costs and had to keep her overnight on an IV drip and in an oxygen tank. They assured me that I could call anytime during the night to check on her (and I did!). I felt that my little Bella got excellent care and the doctor who treated her was very thorough explaining the prognosis and treatment.
On a sad note, this would be a hard place to work witnessing the heartbroken owners who break down crying because they can’t afford treatment and have to make the decision to stop CPR on their pet. I heard two people crying that night. Just heartbreaking.
I would give my review a 4.5 star rating but the only reason I’m not giving 5 is because I had to make a special trip to pick up her collar a few days later. I think they saved my little doggie’s life and for that I’m eternally grateful! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone facing a medical emergency with their pet.

Veterinary Referral Center of East Dallas is EXACTLY where you want to go for your pets emergencies. My baby IP was in very critical condition and though i was extremely stressed and frantic the team there were so compassionate and understanding and at the same time GREAT at their job. I had no problem trusting them with my pet the moment i walked in. This ER is highly recommended in my opinion. If it weren’t for the excellent doctors and excellent technicians i would not be able to cuddle with my pet today. Thank you so much LRH.

Yesterday I took my dog in because I discovered that he had obtained a very deep gash in his hind leg. Not sure where to take him I called around and the vet I called recommended this place to me. I called and was able to take him over to the animal hospital immediately. The staff was very nice and helped fix up my pup. The only thing I would say I did not like was the price of the stitches and medicine. However, being able to bring him in sooner than later was great and I will use them again for another pet emergency.

I ended up having this clinic recommend to me by a friend who is a vet. Ended up there in the middle of the night after my cat ate things he shouldn’t. He had surgery over night and the staff was great and the doctors were great. They kept me completely up to date on my cats progress. They were very up front with all costs associated with his care and were very thorough with follow up care instructions. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!

Especially just having come from a small spay neuter clinic where the people were a little less than friendly, this place made even me feel special. My dog had complications following his neuter and was so in pain and uncomfortable for days. I finally decided to bring him in (it helps I have a good friend who works there and I hear her stories about how much they care about their patients, etc.) Even though it was WAY more money than I would have paid at a regular vet it was so worth it. My dog was showing signs of recovery immediately being brought back home. He was more himself which let me know I made the right decision. The staff & the doctor were all extremely nice and compassionate about not only my situation but all the others coming in at midnight as well. They have some kind of policy where you can bring your animal in without being charged within 24 hours of leaving and I utilized that when I was being an over-​paranoid dog mom and they acted very nice about it the whole entire time!!!

When our little Alice Joy, a 4 year old ginger cat, got lethargic and stopped eating, we were very alarmed. We have four cats, but little Alice is the smallest and my husband’s constant companion. We knew we couldn’t wait until Monday to take her in, so took her to the Emergency Center on a Saturday afternoon. The medical people got to work just like medical people at a human hospital, working fast and seriously. Alice’s symptoms were very puzzling so they did a lot of tests to try to diagnose her. She was a sick baby — a one point they thought we were going to lose her — but in the end the antibiotic seemed to kick in and, after a three day stay, we were able to bring her home. So far she’s doing ok at home, so we’re hopeful. The doctor who saw her when we first took her in, whose name I’m afraid I didn’t get, and the one who treated her the most, Dr Wooley, were wonderful, very professional and caring, just what you want when a pet you love is in trouble.

My dog was in a lot of pain and it came on within minutes. He couldn’t move, his stool was reddish brown and howling in pain. I am new to the area and hadn’t estsblished a vet yet. My husband was out of town on a job, so it was up to me to try to help my dog. I had called Emergency Animal Clinic in Richardson first since it was the first place I found. My husband had the credit card and my mom offered to use her care credit but they wouldn’t see my dog without them being present even though I could provide Id for both they stated they had to be present. My mom found this place and had explained what had happened. They were more than willing to see us and try to help. However within the hour of finding this vet my poor dog passed away. I wished I had found them first then maybe he would have had a chance. They did take him still and cremate him and give me his ashes. Thank you for being receptive and understanding of the situation.

Dr Wooley is great! She explained the issues and plan of care. She was very thorough in her work up and plan of care.

They saved my dog’s life. He was suffocating, unable to breathe when I (barely) got him there. Dr. Dennett (an amazing doc who has such a confidence inspiring manner) was waiting for me and started working on him the moment I walked in the door. My dog went into cardiac arrest shortly thereafter and they were able to revive him. Then he had three surgeries and a week in the ICU/​hospital. But he came out alive.
Dr. Britton, who did the surgeries, is also a rock star. She told me everything that was going on, answered all my stupid questions, and was so helpful even after he was discharged.
I’ve been in the Dallas area 28 plus years and this is the best veterinary clinic of any kind that I have ever been to. I had not even heard of them before my regular vet sent me there but I will never go anywhere else again with an emergency or difficult case.
This kind of outstanding care is not inexpensive but I do not understand complaints about that. Medical care is expensive, whether it be for you and I or our pets. That is just the way it is. If you don’t like that, get insurance or accept inferior care.
My pets are family and they get the same care any family member would.

They saved my dogs life with surgery and mult blood transfusions after post operative bleeding from a normal spay. I think they all are amazing !!! And their surgeon Dr Britton is a ROCK STAR … Without her my Nola would be at the Rainbow Bridge.

Very nurturing and caring. Had to drive my sick dog there at 3AM during Icemagedon. I’d do it again if I had to. He’s feeling better after shots and medicine.

I have had to take several of my pets to emergency clinics throughout my time in the Dallas area. This is by far, the most compassionate and highly-​trained group I have encountered. I would trust any of my fur-​babies to their excellent care at any time :)

My 12 year old Siamese cat, Bobble, had been diagnosed with end-​stage renal failure by our regular vet the previous week and we had made the decision to keep her with us over the weekend and make the tough decision about euthanasia on Monday.
However, she passed away in her sleep during the wee hours of Sunday morning. My husband was out of town, our vet’s office is closed on Sundays and I was at a loss as to what to do with the body. I called two crematories listed on the web but got only answering services or machines. As a former police officer, I’m not squeamish and I could have frozen her body if I had to, but I really didn’t want to do that for both practical (no space in the freezer) and emotional reasons.
A friend suggested calling an emergency clinic and we had brought our dog to the one on Belt Line once before when he had a problem after hours so I called LRH EPCC. I was freshly grieving at the time and the person who answered the phone was really wonderful and caring. She told me I could bring Bobble there, where she would be held until the cremation service picked her up Monday morning. That was a tremendous relief, as was being able to pay for the cremation services there and I was told I’d get the ashes back by Wednesday. I got a call Tuesday evening that they had been returned, and when I picked them up, again the staff member (a different one) was extremely caring. They did not charge anything to do this, which I didn’t expect.
Losing her has been tough but these people helped me a great deal and I’m grateful that they were nearby.
