Spook Hill is such a great short hike to get beautiful views of the sunset and sunrise in the East Valley. It takes about 15 – 20 minutes to hike to the very top. You can do this in regular running shoes, but be aware that your shoes will get a little brown. I would rate it fairly easy, but it can definitely get your heart rate up. Sprint it and you will get a fantastic workout burning your glutes and quads. Even though it’s easy enough to bring your kids or dogs, you still want to be careful that they do not slip on some loose rocks. Coming down is a little faster 10 – 15 minutes and it’s pretty fun trotting down at a jogging pace. Parking is free and has never been difficult, a quick 1 minute drive off the freeway. I come here often because it’s convenient, fast, and a quick way to catch the sunset! There is nothing spooky about it so come check it out! :)

It’s a great«small hill!»! If you walk it at a nice brisk pace, you can get up within eight minutes — — try going up and down 5x, or sprinting, or running up. .. GREAT workout, GREAT views of the entire valley! I have some awesome sunrise pictures. I make it a workout every time by jogging up and down. .. and sometimes, just a speed walk. This is a hill for the beginner, or for someone who is super fit. Fireman sometimes can be spotted training on the hill!

Fun little hike coming in at .75 miles up and down. Watch out for snakes though. I highly recommend the hike as it only takes about 20 minutes to complete.

A little shocked that there is a «business» on Unilocal for this hill! I’ve always called it «Baby Mountain» because that’s exactly what it is. A baby mountain. When I was younger & couldn’t afford a gym membership, I made daily trips to climb this hill for some cardio. Now, I’ll just swing by for a post workout deal. It’s close to my gym which is convenient, but I don’t necessarily go out of my way to come here. It’s a very easy hike, I usually go up & down the trail twice, which only takes me 30 minutes at the most. You don’t even need water for this one. Once you get to the top, you never know what you’re going to find. Once I walked up on a «Romantic» dinner, sometimes it’s a family getting some fresh air, other times it’s some kids smoking pot. Parking is a little weird, you might have to drive past it a couple times before you figure out where to park. Also, I wouldn’t recommend bringing big dogs. I have a hard time bringing my dogs because the hike down is slippery, and if they pull, it’s very hard to catch yourself with gravel under your feet. One thing I’ll add, it’s surprisingly clean! For as much use as it the area gets, there’s rarely any trash. All in all, a nice little kicker if you don’t have time for a long hike.

Well, this little hike is good for beginners. It was my first time today. I was expecting a little intense hike but it was ok. It probably took us(my kids and me) 20 min to get up there, then hanged out for a little bit. It’s was good light cardio. I’ll come here again since it’s only couple miles from my house.

One of my favorite and most memorable trail runs. Very steep but relatively short climb to the top(I believe less than a mile). Very rocky and surrounded by some nice flat trails around the hill. If this were closer it would be in my weekly routine. Very strenuous. Great views of the city.
