My Mother (recently widowed) was taken advantage of by this guy Shawn Carroll. Traded in her old camper for a newer/​smaller camper. The new one was supposed to be a 2005 so the Ford warranty was till in effect. He said he would have a license plate for her before her «once a year» big trip. The radio was missing its face plate. He said he would pay for a new one. However after all was said and done — nothing was as promised.
He never filed the paperwork for the new license plate claiming she had told him it was going to be registered in Montana. We told him it would be registered in Arizona from the very beginning. After several phone calls, he finally left a message on my moms answering machine saying that the Arizona licensing process can be very expensive, «It might cost $ 5000 extra to get it done in Arizona» So… she should use his «special» service to get a license in Montana where she will save a lot of money. He later denied that he had ever said such a thing. Mom had a witness listen to the recording so this witness was there and was able to shut him up. And yes we still have the recording.
When we asked for the radio plate — he claimed that he couldn’t find it — offered to buy one for her but balked when we demanded it be the same quality radio and installed. He said «I’m not paying $ 500 to install a new radio». Funnily enough he was able to find the face plate pretty quick.
The RV was sold on consignment and he previously offered the original owners contact information so we could discuss the RV but then later refused sharing this information.
Thankfully, he purchased Mom’s RV but forgot to have her sign the bill of sale. It was when she refused to sign that we received the license plate and the extra keys.
The latest insult is that Mom took the RV to the midwest for her annual trip and she had to abandon it in Nebraska for transmission trouble and we are waiting for the bad news. .. We tried to get Ford to help but it turns out that this wonderful purchase — this great deal — is no longer under warranty after all. It is a 2004 not a 2005.

It was a trade in but the guy didn’t pay off the other camper. My mom has still been getting billed by her bank monthly! So she is paying for 2 campers right now! Legal action is waiting in the wings if he doesn’t come through soon. This guy is not trustworthy.
