Pizzelle Pastries

This very sweet talented lady (Leslie) deserves some Unilocal love! I have a family full of celiac disease so when we saw she had gluten free pizelles, we tried them. These cookies are similar to waffle cones but pressed and stamped with a beautiful design. I will try to get pictures before we snarf them all down next time. They make GREAT gifts for anyone, but especially people with gluten and dairy allergies and even diabetics because the amount of sugar is surprisingly low. She has a bazillion flavors and they are all delicious. We usually get a mix so we don’t have to choose. She alaways has a special flavor too and the maple bacon ones tasted SO good with coconut ice cream and some berries. She also makes regular ones as well for those who can tolerate gluten. Honestly, I tried both and for once thought the GF ones were better. More crispy and no sand like most GF baked goods are famous for! If you are visiting the Mesa Market, stop by. She also has a Facebook page and would probably do special orders for gifts. She also sells very high quality pizelle irons and has a recipe book available.

These Pizzelles are absolutely amazing! Delicate and flavorful, you can try to eat just one, but I’ll bet you can’t! They come in numerous flavors that will temp every craving. Definitely worth the drive to pick them up!
