Boss Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

I’m so disappointed in this company. I’ve used them many times in the past and they’ve done a great job, better than average. And I’ve used lots lots of carpet cleaning companies.
This time when I received a quote, it was $ 100 more than usual. :(but I went with it because they’ve done such a good job in the past.
When the carpet cleaner guy showed up, he was just a regular carpet cleaner, from a local company. .the kind that just does an average job for half the price. So right away I kinda felt a little bait and switched because I justified the much higher than average price because of the much higher than average job they typically do. Previously, the «Boss» guys wore «Boss» shirts, so it never occurred to me to ask if they were contacted out. But it makes sense since they are in AZ and we live in NM
Before the guy started, I wanted to make sure that we were on the same page. Turns out he didn’t have the scotch guard I anticipated. When I called the company, they said that they didn’t add it because I’ve never ordered it before. I was under the impression, that I’ve ALWAYS ordered it and they’ve always done it. Especially based on the price and the sales pitch where they say something along the lines of «we sanitize, deodorize and scotch guard to protect your carpet»
Anyway, she said it would cost $ 30/​per room to add. We were doing 7 rooms!
After the guy left, the carpet was cleaner the heavy traffic areas were still visible. .it was an average carpet cleaning job. .except the carpet was extremely wet. We are on day 4 now, the carpet is still damp and now my house smells awful. It smells dirty, musty, and mildew-​y. The smell is so bad, I couldn’t even sleep last night. My husband called them this morning, they said they would call us back.. we are still waiting. Mean while, our weekend guest are showing up, I have no choice but to put all of our furniture back. I ended up having to go to target and spend $ 60 to buy air fresheners to cover the stink.
I wanted my carpets clean so I would have the fresh, clean feeling going into fall and now, I feel like my house is dirtier than it was before my carpets were cleaned. And I’m not even sure how to fix it, other than to wait for them to dry and hire a different company.
Don’t waste your money, hire someone local and good for half the price.
