Excellent service. Fresh food. Very yummy! The meat in their burritos is very tender and sauces are slightly warm but not overpowering. Definitely will return!

Nice looking place. Bar smells a little funky. The food was average — nothing I’d go back for. The nachos supreme had an underwhelming appeal to them. Baked chips and pseudo-microwaved cheese. It wasn’t served very warm and the whole mess cooled off pretty quickly. The waitress was nice and the dining area was all right. But if this is any indication of the quality of food here, I’ll pass.

Our local go to place. Good food, prices are reasonable, never a long wait, if any, and some menu items are definite«must haves».

Oh Tortilla Flat. What are you? You’re not really Mexican. Tex-mex perhaps? A little bit of everything with a Southwest flair? Not really sure. Your food is mediocre but your atmosphere is comforting. I have fond childhood memories of this place, as it was my father’s favorite«Mexican» eatery. Was it better then, or was my palate less refined? Who knows. So many questions left unanswered. Nostalgia bumped them from 1 stars to 2. Long live childhood memories.

ay qhe mal! I went a few years ago to this restaurant and I thought the food was not great. I’m a sucker for Mexican food and the little hombre inside me kept saying«go back; try it again». I did last night; and I should have ignored that little hombre. It’s a nice themed interior with pleasant servers. The food; however, continues to be lacking. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The chicken was a little soggy, and it’s the sauce that really did the dish in. Maybe it’s too sweet. It definitely doesn’t taste Mexican; it tastes like a pasta sauce. It’s too bad, mi amigos.

Being from Texas means I have a great eye for good food south of the border. This was my first time in and couldn’t wait for that good southern taste. The wait staff was very friendly & helpful. However, the food needed a lot of help. Store bought tortillas, tortilla chips, and salsa… taste not authentic & bland. Combination fajitas were okay but nothing to write home about — a nice grilled jalapeño would have been great. Since the wait staff was attentive, I will give them a second chance.

I have been going to tortillas since i was in my mothers belly at the Vermont location, every time I go south out of Vermont I stop to eat their DELICIOUSCHEESENACHOS and a house salad with extra extra cheese. I have never had anything else on the menu but their cheese nachos and salad are incredible, we have begged to re open one in Burlington Vermont but I guess they do not listen! My favorite restaurant and favorite memories at tortillas

This place should close perm enamel and reopen as a Starbucks. Worst attempt at Mexican food in the state in my opinion. All the bad reviews are correct. Don’t let the cleaned up look and new paint fool you. I made the mistake of going in cause my wife wanted to give them a fourth chance. Nothing’s changed still blows. The bartender was pretty.

The food is average but the ambiance is pleasant. I would stay away from their more expensive fare as it tends to be not as up to par as their cheaper dishes.

It has gotten better since the Epping location opened. They updated their menu and food. They were pretty terrible before. But they’re worth trying again now that they have improved their recipes.

Love this place. been coming here since I was a kid. The nacho’s are great and my favorite entrée is the oven beef quesadillas. Margaritas are good too. Only downside is the grease but I keep going back.

I’m not entirely sure why this place is a staple of Merrimack. I’ve been here a few times and I’ve been sadly unimpressed so despite living within walking distance, I have decided to pass on this place from now on. One of the biggest peeves I have is their need to put huge chunks of onion in their refried beans(that you cannot order without) and actually just most of their dishes in general. I absolutely hate onions, especially when they are uncooked and it seems that most of their dishes contain nice, giant chunks of them. The place is poorly lit and you are very close with neighbors, so having a private conversation is a bit hard. The only upside to this place is that they do like to overpour your alcohol, but I think it’s only to make up for the slow bar service.

I love this place!!! Waitstaff is incredibly helpful and the menu is yummy! A little pricy, but still reasonable. The drinks are awesome! Reasonably priced and delicious. Whenever we go out to eat I love to go here.

Tortilla Flat has become an inside joke in our family to mean a restaurant so bad it would defy even the most comical expectations of «The Worst Restaurant in the World». To be fair and honest, we have only been there once(repeat: «ONCE») — but that was all we care to try. It’s hard to do «great» Mexican food — if you want that, just go to La Carréta. It’s pretty easy to do «mediocre» Mexican food, even Taco Bell can reach that bar. Tortilla Flat manages to produce food so bad it litterally defies words. I can only describe it by example. For example, would swear on a stack of bibles that their«salsa» was actually ketchup. And not even Heinz, but some crappy generic brand — that was maybe left out in the sun after it had already expired. One would assume that the only reason for this businesses continued existence has to do mostly with their bar. I also found that when you take into account the overwhelming number of reviews that Unilocal deems«not recommended» — Tortilla Flat would in-fact probably rate amongst the lowest of restaurants anywhere, for all time.

Went there last night and ordered their famous nachos! By far the best I’ve ever had!!! Even the presentation of the nachos on the plate was impressive. Side condiments of sour cream and guacamole were far from skimpy which is my a major pet peeve of most places I go to. But here I had more than enough. The nachos were completely loaded yet not greasy. Staff was helpful and pleasant. I will definitely be going back to satisfy my needs for nachos.

New menu– bring back the a la carte menu! Chimis are different. No dipping sauce, queso blanco instead of sour cream. Why change something so good after 30 years? Don’t assume everyone wants rice and beans with dinner. Will try again, maybe a request can be accommodated.

Spur of the moment visit. Great chipotle pineapple margarita. Loaded nachos were the best in the area, couldn’t even eat my steak fajitas. We will be back!

It’s nice to eat at a place that hasn’t gone corporate or added«Bistro» to their name as an excuse to dole out overpriced/tasteless/tiny portions. Having lived in the Southwest for many years, this place would do well in that region. The rice was seasoned and tasty. The re-fried beans had a good flavor. The steak tacos(2) were a handful. My friend had the burrito and it was massive, he said it was very good. I asked for hot sauce and was given two types to choose from; the stuff for wussy taste buds and the stuff they fuel rockets with, YUM! Finally, I had the flan for dessert, it was exactly what I hoped it would be, delicious. The waitress(Samantha?) was polite and inviting. The restaurant and bar areas are clean with the traditional Mexican influences and beers. I’ll be back!

Think the place is nice beer selection no completely uninspired. Comfortable local bar vibe. The nameless bartender seemed very pleasant. Didn’t eat but I would come back.

My husband and I love this place! We always get Don Patron Raspberry Margaritas, delicious and strong. We also love the quesidilla El Grande, always good. We love the atmosphere also, can’t believe some of the bad reviews, as far as spiciness, just ask for hot sauce. Duh… Only complaint, none of the waiters know that the name Tortilla Flat is a book by John Steinbeck.
