My story goes back two years, when my wife and I decided that we would purchase our first brand new bedroom set in our lives(in our 40s). I wanted to avoid the discount furniture stores, so I shopped some of the ‘local’ stores hoping to get better quality and better service. Unfortunately, I didn’t get either. When we first picked out a bedroom set, we had to wait as they didn’t have it in stock. That is fine, we liked what we saw on the floor so they had them order it. It arrived and was delivered exactly when it was supposed to. Unfortunately, the headboard was not the one that we ordered. When we called to address it, the response was«well that is the one you ordered, you even signed off on the order form»(which showed a part number). Apparently, the part number they ordered was for a different headboard and we were supposed to recognize that they typed in the wrong number. We raised a fuss, so they agreed to swap it out for $ 500. We paid the difference as this was the first brand new bedroom set we owned and we already coughed up $ 7k, so what’s another $ 500? A few weeks later they swapped it out and life is good … for now. Fast forward to a month ago. We complained as our $ 2700 mattress set sagging and causing severe back pain. They kindly offered to send someone out. The technician came out and did some testing and said«unless it sags 3″ or more it is not covered under warranty». We followed up with the store and they offered up nothing more than what the technician said. Our last mattress came from a local mattress wholesaler for a grand total of $ 400(king size bed). We went back last weekend and ordered a new mattress. It’s 10 years later and he charged us $ 500 for a replacement. I would have thought Lazy Boy wouldn’t have been a little less lazy when it comes to customer service.

My grandmother was moving into a new apartment. My mother interior designed the whole thing herself, and she got a reclining chair from Lazy Boy. After we installed it, it stopped working after a few days. We called a guy to come repair it, and he couldn’t because it was UNFIXABLE! My mother called the customer service, and they told her they couldn’t replace the chair! Or repair it! So what is my grandmother left with… a broken chair.
