What a great place to hike! We did 9 miles last Sunday, and had a muddy fun time. The trails are well marked, and give hours of beginner to intermediate hiking enjoyment. It is mud season, and there are restrictions– ie: during mud season– no mountain bikes, please pick up your dog poop, carry in/carry out. That being said, there’s always the few who break the rules. Please, for the love of God, adhere to the rules. If we all do our part, we have a beautiful place in our town to explore. Thank you to those that follow the few easy rules. Great local place for all to get some exercise and catch some sunshine!

I love this trail, we come here at least once a week to bring our dog here. He loves it. It’s great for walking, bringing your dog and mountain biking. The trails are great and you can choose from different ones. There are also different ways of getting here and parking, I go to the Amherst road lot. The trails are always clean and there are some pheasants too that my dog loves to find and chase. You can also sometimes see the beavers sunbathing on the rocks, lots of beaver damns. The trail is also marked very well so it’s impossible to get lost. Just be aware that sometimes they do archery here, they do put a notice on the board but you don’t see it, and we came on the trail one day and saw people with their bows shooting on the trail and I was worried about my dog and one woman there with her child was being a jerk about it while her husband was understanding that we weren’t too impressed in not knowing they were doing archery club here. But some of the land is owned by this club. Just make sure you check the board before going on the trail! It’s a great trail for anyone!

Like the previous user remarked, the loop trail is quite hilly, but the park is remarkably pristine. I hiked for roughly 4.3 miles on the loop trail and did not encounter a single piece of trash. It was a thoroughly enjoyable hike and highly recommended for anyone looking to spend an hour or two hiking in this part of New Hampshire.

Dog-friendly, kid-friendly, mountain bike friendly, horse-friendly. Great for trail running or taking a nice leisurely walk in the woods. Some hills, nothing strenuous. Bridges, a beaver dam & home, & a few benches around the water. Often owners let their dogs off-leash here so just be mindful of that. Usually the parking lot is full but it never feels crowded. Popular spot without being overrun. Trails are kept up very well. You can get turned around here, there are tons of trails, most loops, & it’s easy to get turned around so take a map if you’re not familiar with the trails.
