Very knowledgeable, friendly staff! Lots of hard to find equipment at competitive prices! They also offer many classes and they even offer year round childrens swiming lessons! With small class sizes so my daughter finally learned to swim properly after years of trying in larger less focused classes else where. Very happy with our experience here and the service of the employees. We won’t go anywhere else for our sucba needs!

This place is wonderful! My boyfriend and I recently got our open water diver certs here, and we were both very happy with the course. Dave is awesome! Very patient, happy to stay late to make sure we have sufficient practice with all the skills, and very passionate about making sure we are comfortable, safe, and having fun. We were blown away by the level of service as well as the great local diver community we met while doing our open water dives. Highly recommend both getting certified and getting certified through this dive shop!

I found this little gem from a friend of mine. My kiddos did swimming lessons and did great! They were each evaluated and made sure to be put with the right group. The group size was no more then 4 so personalized attention was easy. After I signed up I found out a lot of other friends do swim lessons here too! I recently found out that my neighbor did scuba lessons here. He loved it! Can’t say enough good stuff!

I know Aquatic Specialties offers SCUBA instruction, but this review is all about the adult swim lessons. I had my first swimming lesson today and I am so pleased and pumped to go back! I’ve wanted to take lessons to become a better swimmer, but most adult classes I found seem to cater to people who can’t swim at all/are afraid of the water or waaaaay on the other side of the spectrum for the ones who are prepping for a triathlon. I am definitely somewhere in the murky middle. I signed up through one of those daily deal sites, without which I am not sure I would have ever known about this hidden gem. Before I came for the class, I was asked about my skill level and what I was hoping to get out of the class. They recommended a class with a similar-level swimmer. I was a wee bit late because I drove past the plaza a few times, and then there was some paperwork to fill out. I’d recommend arriving a wee bit early for your first class. Once you’ve suited up, you get right in and get going, though, and it is quite the workout. The pool is not super large, but it gets deep quickly and is long enough to make you work to get across. The instructor was awesome and gave really useful analogies that helped me visualize in my mind what I needed to do in action. She was super encouraging and good-humored but I could also tell she was aware of our comfort level. Each exercise she gave us built on the one before and I can already feel that I have improved. The time flew by and I am so excited to go back next week! I even got a great tip from a sassy young swimmer who told me if you jump a little while you tilt your head you can get water out of your ear easier. Plus, they have a cool dog named Bubbles and a little shop in the front where you can pick up gear. It is basically perfect.

Informative and friendly! This place has a pool on site and if they don’t have it, they can get it!
