Good olé Pete’s. I have been coming here for years and it is a great place. It is not a chain and they have a lot of things cheaper here than anywhere else. The staff knows a lot and I have chatted with several about ways to mix certain things I have bought. It’s not a fancy store but they have so many beers it makes me smile! There are a LOT of craft beers! I don’t like when there are 3 of those and millions of cans of beer flavored water like Coors light. This place is well stocked and even has a TON of those mini bottles behind the counter when you want to try something new but afraid of commitment to an entire bottle.

Great selection of wine and liquor and a staff that is knowledgeable about good wine in all price points.

The name alone piques your interest, no? One of my favorite liquor stores in the area mostly because the wine selection is much better than most in the Region. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, and the store is usually pretty tidy. If you’re into craft beer, you’ll probably have better luck at Pat’s in Chesterton, but you can’t beat the Liquor Bucket for wine and booze.

Before the expansion Pete’s was good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to shop there. Post expansion, the selection is probably the best in the area(aisle after aisle of wines with an impressive array of beer) and the customer service can’t be beat. Now if Indiana would just start selling liquor on Sundays…

This is by far the best place to find quality wines and craft brews in NW Indiana. They offer the widest selection of craft brews I’ve seen anywhere. The price is right, too. They frequently have sales, which makes it easy to stock up on your favorites. The employees are really nice, too. They are knowledgeable and can help you find what you’re looking for.

Pete’s is my favorite liquor store in the area! They have expanded the store and have a great selection at low prices. The beer section is massive and has a bunch of hard to find craft beers from all over the world. If you like craft beer this is the place. They even have discounts if you purchase a certain amont. I have not seen this at any other store in the area. They are always friendly and very helpful when looking for a specific product. Make sure to ckeck it out.

Ah, the liquor bucket. Sounds trashy, doesn’t it? But it’s not, I swear. It’s only probably the best liquor store in Merrillville! The employees here are so very friendly! Always ready to converse, make recommendations, etc. They don’t look at your like you’re up to no good like employees of other liquor stores I’ve been to. The selection is great… They recently expanded in the past year, taking over the spot next door vacated by the former BMV(or DMV for those of you from Illinois). Honestly, I always thought it was funny having a liquor store next door to the BMV… Because in my experience, after you’ve gone to the BMV and waited in those lines, chances are you’ll need a drink, lol. But, I digress… The BMV has moved and the Liquor Bucket is bigger and better. We come here for beer. Micro-brews, to be exact. There’s a pretty good selection too, from local to foreign breweries. A good portion come refridgerated as well, which is a plus! The prices are pretty decent too, as you pay for quality. They have specials sometimes too, so you can walk out with a deal. A good portion of the store is wine, so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that their wine selection is decent as well… I’m not very well-versed in wines, so I can’t say for sure. They carry Tabor Hill’s wines, so that’s good enough for me!
