All the people are friendly, but it seems like they hadn’t set up a business account before… then the ATM failed to make my deposit and it took about 2 weeks and 3 – 4 calls(waste of time) to straighten out… then I found out I cannot take a pic of the check to deposit it, and with a business account cannot use an app to view my account on my phone… however this is available for a non-business account. I DID read all the details, before opening the free account, but I thought we were in 2015 and some things were a given. Every piece you want to use online is an extra and requires and additional set-up…but they don’t inform you of this at the start, so its always a surprise… extra set-up to use the online, extra set-up to use the bill pay… if I am even allowed. Just highly disappointed in this local bank. I wanted to support local business. Ugh.

I prefer, often, to use small business. Especially after the megabank meltdown of 2009 I wanted to support a small local bank that had managed to stay above the fray so we decided to use this as our primary bank. One of the first things I learned AFTER opening the account is that I had to deposit checks in person… not into an ATM. When competitors not only allow you to deposit via atm but also using your own phone, that’s just nuts. That might have changed by now as I’ve not deposited money into the account since July, 2013. I agree the with the other review that their online banking system is just so far behind the times. The fact is that Centier does NOT run the online portion itself. It is a 3rd party business. It leads to all sorts of odd situations and a serious lack of functionality. It would make more sense for them to outright purchase a system and run it in-house themselves. I do have to agree that the actual people working at the branches are fantastic and know their stuff. Since I was always going in to deposit checks, I got to know people at «my» branch. Everyone was always friendly and awesome. But I’ve gone back to the megabank where I can deposit money via ATM nationwide and much more functional online banking.

Customer service is good but their online banking is absolutely antiquated. If you do online banking avoid the small banks like this one and use a large bank like CitiBank or Chase — trust me.

I’ve only banked with«BIGBANK» my entire life, i.e. Chase, BofA, CharterOne, LaSalle, etc. I’ve grown tired of the fees and decided to cut the cord. Centier Bank gets customer service right and understands that its YOUR money. It’s a nice feeling. Smaller banks pay attention and to me, that’s much more important!
