Merrick Library

Merrick library is one of the most beautiful libraries I have ever visited. I would recommend this library for all age groups. They have outstanding programs such as cooking classes, 3-​D printing, and SAT review courses. They also have a great app for free audiobooks and e readers. Merrick library allows you to feel part of a community and it’s a wonderful place to visit.

This is my library of choice in the Merrick area. It is located on Merrick Avenue, South of Sunrise Highway, across the street from the Merrick LIRR train station. The original library, which was established in 1891, was also located on Merrick Avenue, just a tad further south.
This building was renovated and re-​opened in the fall of 2005. It is a lovely place to read. There is a beautiful garden in the back with picnic tables and umbrellas. There are large windows throughout the building which allows the sunlight to pour in. On the second floor is a huge children’s section.
There is so much to say about this wonderful library! You can vote here, attend meetings, join clubs, watch movies, go to classes, listen to a musical, exercise, study, use the internet, or develope your «opus» in one of their private rooms.
