The food was UMAZING!!! We had a server that really knew the menu and directed us to some of the best meals we’ve had in a long time! Cannot wait to go back! New favorite!

Great food and great atmosphere!!! My husband had a steak that was cooked perfectly and I had the fish tacos which I highly recommend. We are visiting the area for a few days and will definitely be going back here to eat before we go.

After a long day of soccer tournaments, we were starving for some substantial food! We entered and were told to choose our seat; the ambiance was perfect! It was so chill and the perfect noise level for a bar and grill. All of the cocktails on the table were superb and the food even better. My dad and I ordered steaks, my mom the salmon special, and my brother, who is exremely picky, received a completely personalized pasta dish based on what he likes. The flavor of the food was perfect! The staff was friendly and accomodating, creating a perfect atmosphere for needy children or a relaxing dinner party with friends or family. I would definitely suggest this venue to anyone!

I kind of like Kahootz. I went there because my mother was raving about it. The food here is awesome, but there is not much variety on the drink menu.

Surprisingly a very very very tasty steak joint right in the middle of America’s heartland. Prices are great for the quality of food, which is above average to excellent(depending on taste and item) Ask for extra ice cream on the caramel bread pudding dish.

We rolled into Boise in late September, blinded by hunger after driving for a very long and full day through some pretty uninhabited parts of Idaho. And although hunger may have had its influence, this is still a great little steak house. They were very close to closing time when we arrived, but I never once got any vibes that we needed to rush. The service was excellent, the ambiance typical for a old fashioned, casual steak house. The special for Monday and Tuesday was an 8 oz ribeye steak for $ 13. Really? These prices are unheard of in our neck of the woods. I wondered if we were getting a not-so-tender cut. But how can you lose… after seeing vast expanses of nothing but cattle ranches for the past two days. This obviously is a beef(and Idaho potato) mecca, so sign me up. I think we got the last two specials available. Lucky us, seriously. Our steaks came with a choice of starch(I highly recommend the wild rice pilaf), a slice of incredibly delicious, soft white french bread, and some beautifully grilled asparagus. This was a great little steak, cooked to perfection. It could have used a tad less seasoning, but overall was exactly what I was craving. To my surprise, I polished that entire steak off, me, a usually reformed non-red meat eater. And don’t get me started on the bread pudding. Thankfully we shared. They split it before bringing it to our table on a sizzling platter, each portion with healthy scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream & side of caramel sauce. Me, who thinks she does not like caramel. Excellent meal, great memories! If I lived in Meridian, I would find myself tempted to come here often.

Excellent food chicken Parmesan was excellent! Drinks from bar are not that great stick with their abundant and excellent beers and wines. I had the steak and it was juicy and melted in my mouth cannot complain there. Staff was excellent could easily become my local spot that I go to often.

We decided to to try out Kahootz after reading some other Unilocal reviews. We are SO happy we did. We went on a Friday night so there was about a 30min wait but it was totally worth it. We ended up grabbing a drink from the bar and waiting on their patio under the heater until a table was ready. My husband got the Reuben sandwich and I got the salmon over risotto. They were both amazing. The servers and every staff member we encountered were wonderful, even though it was super busy. We are so glad we found this little gem and will definitely be going back. It’s a perfect date night location.

I have driven by Kahootz a million times but have never gone in. It kind of looked like a dive to me! After reading up on it via Unilocal and a recommendation from a colleague, I knew I needed to stop by. I’M SOGLADWEDID. From the atmosphere to the food(oh, the food!), to the service… I could keep going on and on. Give Kahootz a try… no matter HOW long the wait is. It’s worth it. Food: Oh wow, their menu may not be huge but it’s FILLED with goodness(though it IS a little expensive). We started with the Con Queso dip, which was HUGE(definitely enough for 4), and contained big chunks of sliced jalapenos and onions. It was the best queso around, as my husband claims, though I still prefer the cheese dip at Corona Village. Next up, we ordered the French Dip(we added swiss). It was a big, toasted sandwich and came with a side of fries that could not have been seasoned more perfectly. We finished with the bread pudding(half order) and MAN, that dessert rocked our socks. The bread pudding was soft and doughy but came out on a steaming skillet, which caramelized the caramel(ha!) and then they poured even MORE caramel and a fresh scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. This is the dessert of champions, I tell you what. ORDERTHEBREADPUDDING! Drinks: Over 43 beers/ales/ciders on tap! Tons of wine to choose from. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is AWESOME. Despite looking like a dive from the outside(sorry Kahootz), the inside is actually really nice. It’s an upscale sports pub and has limited seating, so it makes it feel very cozy. There are TV’s scattered throughout with eclectic memorabilia all over the walls. It’s a little dark inside, so it feels warm, friendly and has a great vibe. Service: When we arrived, there was a 30-minute wait so we sat at the bar top when a spot opened up. Not only was the bartender kind and helpful, but the service was fast and top notch. Each server was kind and respectful, and our drinks were always filled as soon as they were down to ¼ full. Great job, Kahootz! Happy Hour Offerings: n/a Healthy Hack: n/a Tips: If the line is long, it’s long for a reason! They’ll seat you quickly. Still don’t want to wait? Try snagging a seat & eating at the bar. The service will be rockin’ there, too!

One of the hardest things about a new town can be trying to find a new place to eat. Sometimes Unilocal will help, sometimes it becomes an abyss, where you try to categorize how much to trust the rating. In this case, the rating was well-earned and highly appropriate. Basically here you have a sort of brewpub/alehouse that also happens to have food, definitely in appearance. It’s very eclectic inside and very comfortable. I really dig the interior quite a bit. However, they call it a steakhouse, which denotes much higher standards. Fortunately, the kitchen staff is very high end and these guys can definitely be trusted to execute. You can put a blindfold on and stab a finger at the menu and hit something good, if not great. The pterodactyl wings were gigantic things, somewhat similar to Hooters wings, but the grilling and the sauce combination was worlds better. I wouldn’t order them again, as they weren’t crispy enough for my suiting, but they were solid. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, but failed with the rub, which was also what they used on the vegetables. Speaking of those, the asparagus was exquisite beyond belief and one of the best I’ve ever had. Bread pudding was also very rich and while delectable, was borderline too much. Were it not for the grace note of the almonds, it would have been too far into cloying. As it was, it continually was on the borderline of balancing between too much and perfect. I don’t think I’d order it again, but everyone should definitely hit it up once, just like this place. If I lived in the area, I’d definitely be found here often.

It had been a long time since had been here… like visiting a long lost friend. .awhhhh! Staff was very friendly and down right gushing with apologies that the«inside» was full and we could eat in the covered outside dining if we’d like. So we ventured out. Cody our waiter was attentive and quick to give suggestions/opinions so the Pteradactyl wings, Rueben sandwich & Steak salad were ordered and VERY quickly brought out. Food was hot & pretty darn good! My husband exclaimed the corned beef wasn’t «screwed up»(which is his way of saying it’s good). Wings(not so spicy, kinda sweet, savory) were served with a wash cloth(any clue here?!) and were impressive to see. Speaking of impressive, the bread pudding wasn’t the best I’ve had but was pretty good with enough to share and a cup of caramel sauce! We’ll be back!

Love the atmosphere. Wait staff is great. I appreciate that they save the large booth for six plus groups. Food was delicious. Can’t wait to go back again.

We finally tried Kahootz after several rave reviews and I have mixed feelings about it. The food was delicious but I was not a fan of the drink situation and the service was SLOW. I did not feel that our experience was worth the $ 86 + tip tab. When we arrived around 6 there was only outside seating available and it was too HOT. We oped to sit at the small bar and order a drink while we waited for a table. They didn’t have a large selection so I ordered a grey goose with 7up and sprite. I thought it was very small and weak for $ 8.50. We started with an appetizer of chips, queso & salsa. I’m pretty sure I could eat the queso everyday! I ordered a side salad with ranch and a baked potato as my meal. The potato was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Garage Grinder and it was very good and flavorful. We did not order dessert but next time I have to try the bread pudding… Someone in the room ordered it and the caramel smelled yummy. Our server was very nice and did a great job but I believe she was the only server. We waited a loooong time for food and drink refills. They were also sold out of prime rib by the time we ordered so go early if that’s what you’re looking for.

Preface: Not only am I a diehard foodie I’ve worked as a manager in the food and beverage industry in CA for over 15 years including serving as a GM for a fine dining waterfront restaurant. So my views may be skewed a little and my expectations high. That being said, Kahootz really surprised me. As you walk in it has the feel of a bar/pizza house but don’t let that fool you. The service was friendly and on point. The food was great with great portion selections. My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and had a great flavor. A touch over seasoned but I won’t hold that against them. Great beer selection also offering 44 taps of primarily high quality craft beer. A reasonable wine menu for the size of the restaurant as well. I’d definitely recommend Kahootz to anyone dining in the area.

It’s an ok place. Most of the tables are tall, which can be weird and hard to capture your napkin when it falls off your lap. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The beer options are ok, but you need to like ales, and heavy porters… meh. The wine options aren’t bad. The food… sigh. We started with the pterodactyl wings — 5 come on the plate and they are huge. Not really super shareable. We all went with the steak sandwich — and i was very unimpressed. It was cooked to the point of no return and the result was meh. The description made it sound amazing… I was lucky to finish the meal. I can’t say i’d go back, i can’t say i’d suggest anyone else go there. It might be the place for you, but it won’t be the place for me.
