We had lunch and were disappointed with the food. We ordered the daily special«prime rib sandwich» and instead of enjoying the flavor of Barbecue we received meat(I guess) covered with a ton of melted cheese ! I don’t know if there was meat under all that or not. What we received was a cheese sandwich– I could have stayed home for that.

My husband ordered the pulled pork(no surprise there) and covered it with the ‘sweet’ BBQ sauce. His fries looked yummy.(I wouldn’t know, he didn’t share.) He mentioned later on that the food passed his test, which means we will be going back. Now, here’s the thing, I don’t like BBQ. I go to these places because HE likes BBQ. So I was checking out the menu hoping to find something to eat. I noticed that they had baked potato, so that made me happy. I was going to order a burger, but they were all ½ lb. and those are just way too thick. Then when I read they were ½ pork and ½ beef I thought, well they probably taste yummy, but I didn’t want to risk it. I asked if they had smaller burgers on the kid’s menu, but they don’t. However, on the kids menu they have a grilled cheese sandwich! I ordered it along with my potato. The sandwich was perfect! Just the right amount of American cheese, not under cooked, not burnt, just the right amount of crisp. I was happy. The baked potato was hard rather than mushy, so I had to slice it with a knife. It did taste good though, so I gave the sandwich and the soda an A and the potato a B. I wanted to try the bread pudding, but at $ 6.95 didn’t want to risk not liking the flavor. Wish they had that in a half serving. Anyway, we received the bill which was around $ 20 for 2 people. Always happy to get a yummy dinner under $ 25.

Outstanding food as always; even in the new location! The prime rib, pretty much the best one I’ve had in the valley. Keep up the great passion!

Decided to try out this place based on other Unilocalers reviews. We had Carolina, grilled cheese, pulled pork, and ribs. They were all good. Really Liked the option to try the different BBQ sauces they have sitting on the table.

Very good barbecue at a reasonable price. The salad was fresh, crisp and topped with excellent dressing. The pulled pork was juicy and delicious. The cheesy sausage was delicious as well. The sides were also great. Our server, Kristen?, was tremendous and took great care to make sure we were 100% satisfied. I would return here for sure and highly recommend this place. These folks know how to balance just enough smoke flavor as to not overpower the meat. Almost forgot to mention the sauces. Fantastic! In addition to the standard mild and hot sauces, they have a watery sauce that was out of sight. I can’t remember what they call it. I look forward to returning to Big Daddy’s for round two!!!

Mouth watering good barbeque. The mac & cheese is a must side. The ribs are bone sucking good. The brisket is very tender. I will be back for more! Brought friends from Austn, TX. First words from them were“The portions are large and the taste is fantastic”. I personally had the smoke prime rib which you can only get on Friday and Saturday. It was fantastic, tender-and tasty. We are bringing our foodie group, Boise Food for Thought of Idaho from on January 7th. We just can’t get enough of this place! To pass it by is your loss!

Some of the best bbq I have ever had! Their brisket and pulled pork alone is a good enough reason to visit, but then you see all of their homemade side options, like my favorite, the mac and cheese with bacon. The great service is also a major reason to go back, let alone being able to feed a famiy of five for under $ 50! Can’t wait to see what else this small mom and pop shop has in store for them.

I wouldn’t even give them one star but I’m forced to give one to write this review. The first thing I’ll say is the other reviews have got to be bogus or from the owners friend. While we were sitting eating for our meal two other tables were complaining about their food so I’m positive this bad review shouldn’t be their first. It’s dirty its too bright it’s got bad service it’s cold(the food I mean) the food is tough and fatty it’s overpriced(I mean expensive $ 50.00 for 2) and not worth your time. I feel sick from spending my money. Trust me.

The place has a great feel and the wait staff is very friendly. I have been here a few times and the burgers are fantastic. I ordered the full rack of ribs the other night and although they were good, they were not fall off the bone good. Overall great place, great service and good food. I am looking forward to trying other things on the menu.

Big Daddy’s does a good job on their BBQ. The location in a strip mall on Cherry in Meridian is easy to get to. Handicap parking is right outside, 2 spots, and with a properly done passage from parking to sidewalk. The interior is cute, sort of industrial modern. Clean, standard table-chair seating nicely spaced so you don’t hear the neighboring diners’ conversation. Service was quick and cordial. Questions were answered factually. Their menu features brisket, pulled pork, ribs-both St. Louis and baby back style pork, turkey, chicken and wings, links, and burgers. They do a brisket in the traditional Texas Way. Nicely done, not too dry, and with a tasty, smokey exterior. Brisket is not found at all BBQ joints around Boise-Meridian. The links are hot and spicy, so be aware. The turkey is a smoked breast, but tastes like it has been brined. My wife thought it was too salty for her tastes. We had sides of french fries, BBQ beans and potato salad. All were enjoyable, better than most places, but not the best we have had. BBQ sauce is available at each table. there are 3 types, vinegary North Carolina style, a spicy, and a sweet sauce. Beer and wine are available. I had a Sam Adams Oktoberfest and my wife had a Deschutes Pale Ale. Both hit the spot with BBQ items. We would definitely come back to try the pork ribs.

So Big Daddy’s has moved. Still a drive but waaaaay worth it. It has become a sit down dining experience. Same great food, same awesome prices. They now have draft beer and wine at their new bar. Big tv’s to watch games if you want. A def upgrade, however the food is so good I don’t know how they would upgrade that. Real southern BBQ recipes.

This is some of the best bbq we’ve had! I love their pulled pork melts and their mashed potatoes are to die for! We’ve had them cater a small Christmas party and were a hit! Glad they’ve moved closer to our house, but wish they still had their drive through.

Good BBQ. We had the brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was great. Cut it with the fork. The pulled pork was good too but I would recommend the brisket.

Excellent BBQ, great sauces and sides. Very fast. Definitely worth it. We had 18 people there and tried just about everything. Nothing but good words from everyone.

I enjoy the food from here and find myself craving a Big Daddy every once in a while. It’s good enough and unique enough to keep me coming back. I am border line 3&4 stars but am going with 4 because want people to try it. I want it to stick around for a while and get a chance to mature. Seems like only the BBQ chains stick around and I dislike the chains. Only complaint is this: I wish they did a half size version of the BigDaddy that was less expensive and easier to eat without slobbering half of it down my shirt. Have not tried the ribs yet but every place around here seems to fall down on the ribs so I am afraid to try.

I love this mom and Pop barbecue shop. Food is fresh to order and the customer service is amazing. I often pick up a meal to go and bring it to meetings where people often ask where I got it. No need to advertise because once you see this food you’ll be sold. I’ve tried the beef brisket tacos –which are very filling since they come in three tacos. I love the California pulled pork sandwich too. They have sauces on the side in the store and both sauces are great!

Their brisket is excellent! We frequently have the pulled pork, chopped chicken and my favorite spicy sausage(not for the timid pallet) The cold slaw and baked beans are our favorite sides and they often have tasty cheese cake! The proprietors are friendly, the service excellent and the restaurant is very clean. We are fortunate to have Big Daddy’s near by our neighborhood.

I’ve been a fan of Big Daddy’s since before they opened this location. Good food, done well and close to home. It’s not backyard bbq and can’t be because it’s a restaurant. But when I’m too lazy to make it myself these guys are my go to. Friendly staff, clean establishment, recommended.

If you want to read a short review, here it is.. . FANTASTIC! The owners are extremely friendly and remember me every time I come in. The food is excellent! Best BBQ I have ever had. Although it wasn’t planned, I somehow ended up buying a house close by ;) Price: 4⁄5 — A little pricey, but it makes it a nice treat once in a while. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 — Feels like you are at grandma’s house for dinner. Not a big concern as the food is what is most important. It just isn’t a place that you would go to dress up and go on a date. Staff: 5⁄5 — Extremely friendly. Mom & pop business. Location: 4⁄5 — A little off the beaten path & hidden, but makes for a nice treat when you are in the area. Food: 4.5÷5 — Excellent! Took .5 off just because sometimes the meat can be a little fatty, but for the most part it is always great. Value: 5⁄5 — Big portions of great food. Includes 1 large side and a huge entrée.

First time here, looking for a good BBQ place close to home. Hard to get closer to home than this place so we gave it shot. We noticed right off that the place is very clean. That always scores points with us at mom and pop places. The menu was basic but broad enough to give you a good idea of what your appetite will have in store. The gal behind the counter was very friendly and helped us right away. Food was outstanding! Brisket was delicious. Wife got the spicy sausage. And it also was terrific! We recommend this place ten times over! Hit it if you’re in the area. If you’re not. Get there anyway!
