It’s a Michaels. They’ve got all the stuff you need to make whatever Pinterest inspired mason jar contraption it is that you want to make. Store is set up well, the lines can get a but ridiculous though — avoid Saturday and Sunday trips if you can. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact the woman’s working the register(she’s literally there every time I am) has 6 inch acrylic nails with airbrush designs on them and all her slamming on the touch screen just isn’t efficient. Make sure you have your smartphone with you, and google Michaels coupons there are always coupons online, this is one of those stores that the prices are never accurate because there is always a sale.

I needed my law degree framed and visited this Michael’s branch to see what I could see. My mom and I were shopping around the frames on the shelves and having some trouble because my degree is a weird size. There was a girl working in the framing shop and I asked her for advice re: frame size and adding custom matting to a purchased frame, etc. She paged a more experienced framer and he came over and talked to me and my mom about the degree. He said that it would actually be cheaper to get a custom frame with custom matting made for the degree. We compared prices, and he told us that because it was spring they were having a frame sale for graduates. It was fun to benefit from this sale even though I graduated two years ago. We chose the frame and chose from a bunch of colors of matting; it was so much fun, like picking paint colors. We prepaid, which made pickup really fast and easy. Usually they take the degree or photo or whatever from you when you order the frame and then call you in a couple of weeks when everything is done. I wouldn’t let go of my degree like that; it’s on super delicate paper and it just made me nervous. They were very understanding of my anxiety, and told me that they did need me to drop it off and leave it with them for 24 hours after the complete frame came in. So they called, I dropped the degree off, and they called me the next day to tell me it was all ready for pickup. They built the frame and added two colors of matting inside the frame, which makes my degree look super elegant. The frame is gorgeous, too, of course. I’m so happy with the job they did, the cooperation I got from the employees, and the overall experience. I just wish the frame shop was open a little later(they close at 7 on weekdays), because I had trouble getting there after work to drop off my degree, and ended up waiting a week to go on a weekend instead.

What’s there to say about Michaels that hasn’t already been said? It’s a chain, and while I would rather be out supporting local businesses, they’ll usually have what you need.

This store is better than most craft stores, they always seem to have what I need. Selection of wedding DIY and rubber stamping/scrapbooking goodies are awesome. This store tends to be cleaner than most craft stores as well which is a huge plus for me. Here is my two gripes: 1) Mark your items better for what’s on sale so I know what I can and cannot use my damn coupon on. Or have in store price scanners. 2) Have more people at your register, checkout is always slow here which becomes annoying when I wait and find out I cannot use a coupon on the item I am purchasing because it is already on sale.

i dont spend a lot of time in craft stores, but i decided i needed some new scissors one day and this was where i ended up. they had a lot to choose from. i got some fancy fiskars. i have been in other michaels stores and this one seemed smaller than average. the check out lines were long for the middle of the day.
