The Daffodil Festival features all of the hallmarks of a successful town fair: vendors selling repurposed wood planks featuring inspirational messages for your country kitchen, apple fritters courtesy of the local Lutheran church, a 45 minute set by a(I assume) powerhouse band called«Straight to VHS,» carnival rides for the children that aren’t busy harassing the ducks, and, lest they be accused of false advertising, a load of daffodils. Parking is available at designated locations throughout the town, and the shuttle system seemed to work pretty smoothly. We parked at the mall and waited about ten minutes for a ride to Hubbard Park around 11 am. The wait for a departure took about as long. Not as ideal as on-site parking, but understandable. The food court area got pretty out of hand once lunch time rolled around, so eat a little early if you’d like to avoid lines.
