Awesome candy, great gifts, fun staff. Expensive, but that’s to be expected. Fun place to shop. Terrific experience, always!

Lee’s candy kitchen has just about every candy you can think of, even the ones from when you were a kid! This is a regular stop for us when we visit my family in New Hampshire. They have decadent chocolates, sensual body candy, and fabulous sugar candy! One of my favorites is their dark chocolate sea salt caramels. I would recommend having lunch or dinner at Giuseppe’s and get your sugar fix at Lee’s candy kitchen. The staff have always been friendly every time we’ve been there. The only reason I gave it 4⁄5 stars is due to the cost; I did feel it was slightly pricey, but what I got was worth the money, especially if it’s a «treat» and not a frequent purchase.

The mini sea salt caramel truffle I had was to die for! We got some other gourmet hit chocolate mix and some cute risotto dish packages to give as gifts.

To start with, the rating is not low because of the candy, it’s low because of the poor customer service. The candy is more expensive than some other places in town though. We came here every time we were up at the lake, and this year was no different. Well, at least we tried to go. We stopped by the store to check their hours before going to dinner. We were told they were open until 9, so we went of to dinner. Dinner was running long so our group of 8 left EARLY to make it before close. We arrived at 8:45 to find that they had closed. Pretty disappointing. The man we had spoken to was still in the shop closing up but he completely ignored us. They lost an easy 100+ dollar sale, and we ended up going to kellerhaus, which is just up the road and much cheaper and has got great selection, along with ice cream.

I feel like they are kind of expensive and about 60% normal candy you can find else where. The other 40% of the stuff is more unique. Candy cigarettes are so hard to find now, gum/chocolate cigars, sour drops, bunches of older candy. Has some nice gems in there. But for a package of sour strips is 2.99. Crazy. I spent 3 dollars on the jar candy instead. That stuff is generally $ 9.99/lb. They have a bunch of good stuff in the jars though, there’s someone right there to wait on you. However, the gold mine is the fudge. This fudge is absolutely to DIE for. I think it is $ 12/lb, and each block is ¼ a pound, so $ 3 a block. They are pretty good sized but good lord they are delicious. I love their fudge so much, and I’ve been going here for many many years, and it has always been consistently good. I left mine in the car for 4+ hours in 80 degree sunny weather, no problems. Still soft as always, and no melting or nasty sticky. I could probably eat the fudge all day… Definitely stop by and grab a block of fudge, so many varieties and it is in a good location.

I stop here every year during vaca. The prices are a little steep(then again, it’s in the middle of a big tourist spot), but they have some good options that you can’t find everywhere. I try to get one weird new thing each time — this year I grabbed the Cinnamon Chile Dark Chocolate. My mouth burns, but it’s entirely worth it. They have a good mix of good homemade stuff, and classic standbys. Definitely worth it if you are in the area and in need of piles of candy.

Solid selection of all that stuff that rots out your teeth. They even have the long forgotten Mallo Cups… I consumed these by the palat as a kid, collecting the cardboard«coins» and sending them in for some prize. Clever marketing, I dare say… probably subsidized by the Dentist lobby.

Nice little store I happened upon in Meredith. Loads of candy to choose from and they are open to free samples of anything you like. Chocolate covered peanuts and jelly fruit slices were the best I tried. Definitely worth a visit.
