Horrible Service. Idk if it’s really his name but«Jake» took 15 mins to make my drink and there were only 2 people waiting including myself. His presentation looks as if he just rolled out of the street and his hands were filthy. That was the deal breaker for me. Also he decided to share that he hadn’t taken his break for over an hour and that he’d make my drink after his break when I had already been waiting. He mentioned that he had only been working for 10 days. Last checked you get breaks every 2 hours. And it’s very unprofessional to share this information to your customers. I would highly recommend to either tell this guy to shape up and get a makeover or take him off payroll. Very disappointed with this location. Were you guys that desperate in hiring, you hired a hobo?

I come in here 1 – 2 times a week because unfortunately it is the closest one to me, but unfortunately my patience Has dwindled to nothing. Every Time I go in it takes over 15 minutes and every time there’s only one person ahead of me. Doesn’t help when the person behind the counter wouldn’t give me the courtesy of getting off the phone with the owners while complaining she does so much work and is better working alone and is overwhelmed. My smoothie was messed up and the person ahead and behind me was. Please get off the phone and may attention to me smoothies are expensive and sucks I have to wait another ten for a new one. I’ve been going to ECS for over 11 years but I have to consider time as a factor now. The issaquah one is always awesome!

First time to an emerald smoothie. Staff was nice and helpful. They need more options two each sections of drinks and charging more for certain boosters is ridiculous! For a 16oz drink I payed around 6.25 for a small drink! That’s crazy! But mark up is probably because it’s on mercer island. In the end the drink was good but probably won’t be coming back very often.

The staff has been friendly here no complaints. The location is convenient;however there is no parking out front you have to park across the street. With more and more of these closing down it’s great to have one nearby. If you’ve never been I would recommend trying the pacific breeze it’s a great mixture of something sweet but overall healthy.

The gal working with the orange hair this evening is one of the worst customer service workers I’ve ever seen. No eye contact, slapped my change down on the counter. I asked her name and she realizes at this point she messed up and is being syrupy sweet with the next 2 customers. Too little too late! I’ll be contacting the owner tomorrow, as he happens to live here on MI too.

Over priced, not Jamba Juice, and I got charged for my 3 year olds empty cup. Well done.

This smoothie shop is located in the same building as Island Square apartments. If you are a resident of the apartment it seems very convenient to visit this shop since you can access it via the parking lot. Their smoothies here are not cheap! Two smoothies came out to around $ 10! Their menu here is rather extensive though. Most of the smoothie drinks have some sort of energy mix and/or protein and/or vitamin boosts already included in the drink. This model is very different from Jamba Juice, which usually gives you one free boost plus charges extra for additional boosts. I had the Orange Dreamsicle and it was okay. There was this strange harsh taste that I think might have been the energy mix or the protein mixed in. I usually don’t add crazy protein shots to my smoothies so I’m not 100% sure what the taste was. There is a frequent buyer card that is good if you come to Emerald City Smoothie a lot. Also there is limited seating at this location. This place seems like a grab and go kind of establishment.

I really appreciate the service here at Emerald City– especially Amber. She creates consistent smoothies, is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and always makes me feel welcome when I walk through the door. I appreciate that EC promotes to a more active crowd– I get their smoothies for a purpose, not just a sweet drink… and I get both! Thanks Amber and EC!

I love smoothies! Any time is a good time for a smoothie. I like to drink them especially in the summer time when it is dreadfully hot. It’s the perfect solution to cooling down, don’t ya think? Thankfully on the island, we have a smoothie shop to go to. At the same time, I wish we had a Jamba Juice instead. Emerald City Smoothie doesn’t have that upbeat, fun, and hip atmosphere like Jamba Juice. It reminds me more of a body builder’s mecca. The shop is full of jars of protein powder and other snacks that body builders consume, I suppose. The floors are gray, the walls are white, it’s BORING. Where is the spark? Onto the smoothies. They have a good variety of smoothies, most likely not as many choice as Jamba Juice, but decent. They are separated into different categories: treat my body, no fat, low sugar, boost my immune system, lose weight, bulk me up, mrp’s, and kids. It takes me a while to decide on what to order because there a handful to choose from. Imagine how long it takes me to decide at Jamba Juice… My favorite fruit is the mango, so the first time I came here, I ordered the ‘mango mania’. It contains mango, pineapple, nonfat milk, and protein(powder?). The baristas at the counter are usually young, mostly high school students. Usually, they are chit chatting away until somebody orders. I don’t mind that because it’s the same case at Jamba Juice. Although, the baristas at Jamba Juice seem more lively and content. Baristas at Emerald City Smoothies just don’t look happy, kind of a mournful, depressed type of look. Anyway, they get the job done, and eventually hand you your smoothie. The size of cups are just like at Jamba Juice. If you’re picking it up as a snack, I suggest the smallest size, the equivalent of a 16 oz. at Jamba Juice. If you’re in for a meal, get the next size up, the equivalent of an original at Jamba. Mango mania is a rather thick smoothie, it almost has the texture of a milkshake! When I first tried out the smoothies here, I thought they put ice cream in them! They probably do, or maybe it’s just the nonfat milk that gives it that consistency. The fruit flavor isn’t as strong as I would like it. Also, I get kind of sick of the taste after a couple sips. That never happens at Jamba for some odd reason. I came here another time after my first, and tried the raspberry dream. It is a raspberry, strawberry, nonfat milk, energy mix, and protein smoothie. Like the mango mania, not enough fruit flavor and the consistency of a milk shake. Not satisfied. Giving this smoothie shop another shot, I tried the peach pleasure. It contains peach, papaya, strawberries, nonfat milk, and protein. I was yet again, disappointed with its lack of fruity goodness and non smoothie like consistency. I think if I’m in the mood for a smoothie, I’d stick to Jamba Juice. Or… I could just make my own smoothies at home.
