Albertson’s Mercer Island store is CLOSING on 7÷5÷15

I have no idea why this place is always empty! Way better prices and selection (for most things) than QFC down the street, much bigger parking lot, far easier to get in and out of because the driveway isn’t right next to a stoplight, friendly staff… really, the only advantage QFC has is that they’re open 24 hours, but how often does someone really need a 3 AM frozen burrito? And hey, there’s the extra special bonus of never getting almost run over by a speed-​crazed lady trying to jam into the spot right next to the door (which has happened to me several times at QFC).
Love you, Albertsons! I’ll be back.

Just wanted to say I experienced awesome customer service on Friday — I was outside Albertson’s stretching after a run and an employee went inside and brought me a bottle of water for free. It was such a random act of kindness. A great testament to the quality of customer service available at Albertson’s Mercer Island.

We had kosher cupcakes ordered from here for a kosher wedding. The cupcakes were ready on time, the clerk helped load them in the cart, and they were prepared beautifully. Other clerks in the store were also aware of the order and offered assistance.

I am a huge fan of Albertsons. I don’t have many near my vicinity because most of them are in the more «suburban» neighborhoods if you get my drift. I am a huge fan of their fried chicken because they’re always fresh (most of the time) and the service is pretty friendly and nice. This one is bigger than the Magnolia one (my usual location). They seem a bit more side-​eyed here, but nonetheless, the quality of is the same. The food in the deli is hit or miss depending on what you want/​like and the time you arrive. Their caesar salad is delicious-​a very big admirer of that.
Their food/​quality of produce is impressive and always looks high quality. I would definitely choose their quality over Safeway any day. Their meat selections are fresh and clean ingredients, nothing old or overdue. Love their chicken deals sometimes. And even their buy 1 get 2 free items from time to time. Definitely keep your eyes peeled for that. They have a HUGE selection of hot sauces, which is kind of surprising, but am LOVING since I love any kind of hot sauce. They have a growing number of items for the «Ethnic» sections which is nice.
Prices at Albertsons is always reasonable and sometimes even cheaper than QFC or Safeway (which are closer to me than Albertsons). I wish they opened one in South Seattle because I’d love to shop here more frequently. Thanks for being a friendly grocer!

I took a look at a lot of the packaged meat in the back and a good portion of the meat was sitting in its own red juices. That is a sign that the meat has been out for too long and it really should not be sold at that point. It looked extremely unappetizing and I wish this place would have done a better job with their meat department.
The prices for the produce seem comparable to a lot of the stores in Seattle. $ 0.79/pound for loose carrots, $ 1.99/lb for Fuji apples.
I did like that there was a large Kosher section here! I usually don’t see such a large portion of the grocery store dedicated to Kosher.

At first I received a warm smile from the old woman behind the counter. After I took a few moments to peruse the offerings she blurted out «if you don’t need kosher there’s a regular deli over there» while pointing her crinkled witchlike finger at me as if I should not take so much time to decide.
I responded by saying «no, this is fine can I have ½ pound of the tabouli salad please». Her response was slow and deliberate, she asked a few times «how much, a quarter pound?» as she metered out the salad with exaggerated effort into a tiny container bit by bit. I gave up on getting what I wanted and accepted the small amount anyway since it seemed fruitless to try and change her mind.
Reverse discrimination? Sure felt like it! I’m never going back, even though the salad was spot on delicious.

I was able to make it 1.5 years without setting foot inside but was with someone who had to stop in. Still sucks so moving to 1-​star.

Wait, what?! I’m the Duchess of Albertsons?! I guess I should write a review then.
This Albertsons is located just a mile away from my house so it’s a nice place for me (and/​or my mom) to walk and pick up some miscellaneous groceries on a nice day (we buy the bulk of our groceries from the ID and Costco though). This is also my go-​to place for last-​minute baking supplies when I’ve got the oven preheated and my cupcake recipe out but remember that I’m fresh out of flour. There’s also a QFC about a block away but I find that Albertsons usually has items of similar quality for better prices.

Although the service here is good, I really try to avoid Albertsons. It smells SO bad in this store… like rotten food/​meat. I used to shop here anyways because the sale prices are better than the two qfc’s, but sale items are all emptied off the shelf immediately, and not replenished — so the prices are the same, and the store is not nearly as nice as the southend QFC. And enduring that awful smell isn’t worth it, anyway.

the food selection is good, especially in the kosher department. however, I have had two bad customer service experiences. the workers don’t seem very happy to be working there, which doesn’t make for a very fun shopping trip.

The Albertsons on Mercer Island has the most diverse selection I have seen of this chain. The biggest plus of this location other than its giant parking lot is its selection of Kosher foods. There is a large Kosher grocery section along with a Kosher deli and bakery. There is also a separate section in the meat department set apart for Kosher foods.
I have not tried the Kosher deli or meat offerings, but of course I had to try the bakery offerings. There is a decent selection of offerings. It is good that they mark the items that are kosher and separate them out from the other items. The display case had kosher items like onion rolls and cinnamon rolls.
And of course there is challah which I picked up. I thought the challah was just okay. I don’t expect much from a grocery bakery, so I just give it props for even carrying these. Seattle could use a proper kosher bakery.
In addition to Kosher offerings, I do see the Asian selection is fairly decent. I actually found Sun Luck brand fishcake here along with items like udon. Prices are not great on these, but kudos for even offering a selection of these. I do also see that over the store they have these forms in the aisles in which you could request for products which I thought was amazing.
I don’t usually go to Albertson’s since I live in Bellevue, but when I do I go to this one. They have the usual grocery ad deals, but the Kosher and Asian offerings puts it over the top.

Need something Kosher? This is the place to go!
They have a decent selection of food and choices. They have aisles dedicated to various genres of food — asian, etc. — up front.
I’d go again. It was surprisingly easy to get to from South Seattle.

Alot of the things in here are kosher. I guess that is what you should expect if the area that you are in are dominated by Jewish people. so most of the things in here should be kosher. it’s pretty cool… One of my most favorite things to do to relax is grocery shopping. hahah funny I know… something about new groceries and yummy frozen foods makes mama happy hahaha… anyhow. the tully’s in the albertsons has kosher everything… the meats, fruits, everything!!! KOSHER… kosher salt. kosher aisle. hhahahahah I should ask. «is there anything here that is kosher?» hahahahha jk. anyhow. I love alberstons, mostly their fried chicken. I know. garbage. but who cares. it’s soft, tender, somewhat crispy. and CHEAP! awesome… well my dear Unilocalers if you guys every want to make dinner for some jewish people, and thought hey. I need alot of kosher ingredients, and foods buy it at this albertsons. awesome!!!
