Holiday Inn Express & Suites Merced – Yosemite Natl Pk Area

I stayed there for 2 nights. I had the suite, it was a very large room, 2 queen beds, sofa, chairs, fridge, microwave, sink… room was clean, everything working well. They have an amazing continental breakfast, with lots of options.
Wasn’t bothered by any noise, it was really quite. will definitely recommend..

I have stayed here a couple of times over the last year. The other night I had a bad experience. I received one of the last available rooms for the night and it had a broken shower head and a bathroom that smelled like an ash tray. The heater was broken or poorly maintained which added a whole new aroma to the room. Room maintenance came up and was able to mask the cigarette odor a little bit. This is a non-​smoking facility. Not wanting to stay another night I checked out the very next morning. The front desk clerk dismissed me after I told her about some of the challenges in the room, saying they will look into it. A couple days later the manager contacted me and apologized for the inconvenience and offered to make up for the discomfort. I greatly appreciate his apologies and found him sincere. This meant the most to me after being dismissed.

Nice, clean, hotel with helpful staff. My family and I were stuck with car car repair problems and they accommodated our late check out and needing to wait some extra time for the repair to be done.

Decent expected a bit better for the brand. Noise factor by being right by Freeway. Won’t come here again because of that.

Great staff manager was very courteous and helped us out. We get into the room the room was spotless. We had a problem with the Wi-​Fi the manager came to help and he went out of his way to make sure it worked. My pregnant girlfriend asked him where you drinking fountain was he went and got a water bottle out of their fridge and gave it to her for free! The pool is pretty nice and was rather warm considering it was late at night when I went in. The breakfast the next morning was pretty good and they had lots of options to choose from.

The room was spacious (two queen beds, large mini fridge) and very clean. Pool was decently sized with a good amount of towels for everyone, they also had a ton of chairs to lay out on and tan and continental breakfast was surprisingly good. They had different options daily, eggs (scrambled, hard boiled, omlette), cereal, pancake maker, sausage, fresh fruit etc. with ample seating (atleast 12 4-​tops and 2 couches). The parking lot is large and the hotel is located 2 minutes from the highway, very convinient. I would return

Stayed one night (yesterday) at the holiday inn for a meeting and left with over 20 bed bug bites all over my body. If you are staying here check your mattress!

We had a phenomenal stay here! The room was clean and quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The pool was the perfect temperature. The AC is ice cold. There was even a fridge in our room! They have a note on the counter in the bathroom to let guests know if they forget a toothbrush, etc, to ask for a complementary one. There is a spot to get a candy bar or soda. Their breakfast was not spectacular, but their coffee was awesome and there were a lot of options. I would stick with eggs and toast. Beds were comfy and there were plenty of pillows. The staff was so courteous! We forgot our pizza in the fridge (which we had loosely wrapped in wax paper because the box wouldn’t fit in the fridge) and called to ask them if we could grab it — they wrapped it up really nicely with plates and plastic wrap and put it in a bag for us to pick up at the front desk! I was just floored at the service!

The room was large and the receptionist was accommodating. My only complaint is the location of room 216 right behind a façade that blocked natural light from entering the room and attracted quite a few pigeons. The breakfast was adequate and had convenient hours. I would stay here again although I thought it was a bit pricey for the location.

I always carry my sheets when i stayed in any hotel, because of bad experiences, this time I forgot and it did not matter” The blanket and sheets of my king size bed smell mmm CLEAN. And I slept very comfortable.
The Staff is Great” Breakfast was included, and the pancakes were good. The employee in the dinning area by the name Maria was very helpful and courteous.
I love a clean place and I will recommend this to a friend.

Stay here instead of best western

The service from the lady at the front desk and the maintenance guy was good, but after a 6 hour drive, the last thing you want is to walk to your room and everything be all over the place. A bed was used, the TV was on and the bathroom had stuff thrown around. It was quite obvious the room wasn’t cleaned before we got there. I have some pictures.

My 5 star is for the quality and value of my stay. It wasn’t in a neighborhood that you would go and explore, though. The hotel counteracted the neighborhood with a very clean facility. The grounds and the parking lot was kept very nice. The staff was terrific! Everyone was friendly and helpful and I was especially impressed with the maid service. My room was huge, quiet, and very clean. (even the carpet!) My first night I slept with the extra blanket provided. The maid noticed this and made the bed with the extra blanket for my second night. I was very impressed. The breakfast buffet was included in the price of the room. It was great! It was all you can eat and the staff kept everything well stocked.
We had a very nice experience. But again, I would say the neighborhood has deteriorated immensely since my first visit to this particular hotel in 2011. A great place to stay, but not the neighborhood to explore.

Dirty sheets had been left on the sofa bed. Sheets in a plastic bag to make up the bed were sopping wet! Clerk brought up wrong size sheets and no pillowcases. The entire hotel had the thermostat turned up way too high. Our room was 80* by morning and the hallways were hot also (winter month). I heard several guests complaining. There were limited choices for TV viewing, and nothing for the 7 and under age group. I would never stay there again.

I should mention first that I haven’t actually stayed at this hotel, but I had a wonderful experience with their staff and I wanted to make sure others knew about their great customer service. I had booked a room around the holidays, but when the actual day rolled around, we weren’t able to make it to the hotel. I called that evening hoping that I would be able to cancel and maybe get a partial refund, but I ended up calling a little late and the manager was not in. The person I talked to on the phone though was very pleasant and helpful. He told me to call back after a few days to talk to the manager (he was out for the holiday) and said he’d probably be able to help me out. When I got in touch with the manager, he was so nice and he issued me a full refund. He made the process incredibly easy. If I’m ever in the area I will definitely make sure to stay at this hotel.

We returned for the first time since our less than great experience last year. This time was great. We had originally booked just for Saturday night, but decided to drive down early for our event, and added Friday night. We booked via
so it showed to them as two separate bookings. Viktor checked us in and linked the reservations so that we didn’t have to hassle at all due to the separate bookings.
The room was clean and comfortable. Our room was serviced nicely. The breakfast was good — better than many we have experienced since our last visit.
We have since stayed at them Hampton Inn next store but we found this to be better. See you in December!

Breakfast area had plenty of room for a Monday. Shower had low pressure but sufficient. No funny odors anywhere. WiFi was not working properly, 30 min on phone with tech. He finally agreed and I was out a half hour of my vacation time.

The view is not good: it was a roof.
The first room we had smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite this being a smoke free hotel. Our key didn’t work either. However when we informed the front desk lady she gave us a new room and a new set of keys. The keys to the pool did not work, and a staff member had to let us in. Breakfast was delicious, very good.

The neighborhood isn’t somewhere you’d want to be after dark on your own, but the inside is clean and beautiful with a modern flare.
The free continental breakfast is large and very nice. The pool and jacuzzi are on the small side, but clean and heated.
The staff is efficient and we were able to check in two hours early.
I would recommend staying here if you ever find yourself in the Merced area.

The staff is so, so helpful and provide Otis Spunkmeyer cookies at the front desk. When you check in on Unilocal,you get a free bottled water. Some of the workers are very sweet about it, while others will hold your water hostage and closely eye the Unilocal voucher before releasing the off-​brand bottle of water.
A minus is that there is no room service and not a lot of great or healthy options nearby.
Parking is free and if you have any concerns the staff will do their best to make your stay comfortable.
