We drove from Clovis to meet some friends for dinner(hour drive) on advice of our friends. We arrived at 5 pm on Saturday and the place was pretty much empty. This should have been a sign. Food was so so. Service was wicked SLOW! It took them 45 minutes to get me a beer in a place that was almost empty. The worst part was the pricing was not cheap. $ 180.00 not including tip for four people and one did not have any drinks. Two of us had pasta. I won’t be back.

Gave this place another try as they are one of the few restaurants here in Merced with al fresco dining. Hubby had the chicken cordon bleu. Never again. It was so overcooked the color was a burnt brown and it was hard. They are not consistent with their cooking. I wish Merced had more options for dining.

I went here yesterday and walked out of Five Ten Bistro saying«yuk» the food was horrible. Ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. I love bruschetta and it tasted awful. The bread and tomatoes were not fresh. Fresh tomatoes on bruschetta make a big difference. Actually fresh food makes a big difference. I don’t know what kind of seasoning the cook sprinkled ontop of the bruschetta but whatever was sprinkled gave the bruschetta an awful taste. I love bruschetta and I did not have another piece. This was a sign my meal probably was not going to be any better. But keeping an open mind since this was my first visit to this restaurant I waited for my salmon with dill sauce, wild rice and vegetables. This was not better. Just overall greasy and tasteless. The salmon and vegetables were swimming in oil and the dill sauce was to strong and ran over the rice polluting it’s flavor. Overall meal did not taste good and I felt sick after.

I have had lunch here twice since the fish episode and both times were very good. The spinach salad was as fresh as it could be. Today I had tomato basil soup which was very flavorful. The tortellini was supposed to be ravioli and pretty blah even with walnuts and spinach. I think this restaurant has possibilities but still has problems with consistencies. Stale bread and frozen butter?

You know what, the foods good so gotta give them credit. Fresh with a variety of options. My problem is that the price is a little steep, if it had a nicer looking interior you could justify the price but the presence just isn’t there.

510 is a great atmosphere whether date night brunch or family night out for dinner. The only place in merced with a gorgeous outdoor patio dining with a beautiful fountain and main street view. They always have new craft breweries on tap and always have friendly faces serving you food or drinks. This is were Merced needs to be!!!

2 stars. One for service good service and one for the patio sitting by Fountain. I had the Mahi Mahi. The rice was probably boxed with lots of added soy sauce and scrambled egg. The carrots were half cooked, the Mahi was over cooked and was cooked on a DIRTY grill. The pineapple sauce was canned pineapple with added bell peppers. $ 20. Will not return.

I’d been here before a long, long time ago but this was my 1st time with my kids and BF. We went to see a movie & were hungry. Everything just wasn’t catching our eye & then we saw this place. It wasn’t too busy when we got there. At 7pm on a Saturday I was unsure if it was a good or bad thing. The ambiance was welcoming, very serene with soft lighting. It felt very cozy, date like. For about 15 minutes we perused the menu as David brought us ice water. I could only give this place 4 stars because every couple of minutes(literally!!) the manager came out of his little office & this very BRIGHT light would just change the entire ambiance. Every time he walked in/out, it distracted us & turned our attention towards him. I was annoyed and felt that his little office should be in the back of the restaurant, NOTRIGHTNEXTTOWHEREDINERSSIT. It was distracting enough that I couldn’t give it 5 stars. We ordered the paprika fried mushrooms for an appetizer. The ranch dressing was very thin & watery. Besides being a bit hot/spicy flavored to me(from the paprika), I felt the ranch should have toned down the hot flavor. Well… it didn’t. Disappointed but not enough to make a fuss. For dinner, I ordered the mushroom cheese tortellini. It only comes with the mushroom tortellini, no sides, no nothing. Make sure you order a salad or something if you’re wanting more than pasta. Don’t get me wrong, it was delish. I enjoyed it. My boyfriend ordered the Flat Iron steak, medium rare with Yukon potatoes(not mashed) and veggies. The steak is topped with spinach/mushroom sauce. He says it added to the flavor of the steak & didn’t require steak sauce. Chicken marsala was the food choice of my oldest son. He loves chicken & said this one was very juicy and delicious. He wants to go back soon! My other son, eventhough he’s a picky teen, had a grilled cheese sandwich with french fries because nothing else piqued his interest. Let me tell you… he said of all the grilled cheese sandwiches, that one was on the top 10 that he’s had. The fries were nice and golden, tasty in his opinion. Would we go back? Yes, probably. but definitely not sitting inside the restaurant. Most likely sitting outside where we expect to be distracted and watch the passer-by’s. The food is great. See the pix I uploaded. You won’t be disappointed with the taste.

Have eaten here a couple times was mediocre at best gave it one last try we walked in waitress wanted to be very clear that we can sit but she is not sure when she will be able to get to us. She had absolutely zero people skills. Sounded like she wanted us to leave the second we walked in. Really hope management catches this one soon after 15 minutes at our table we left we went to Pinocchio’s across the way which is always a great choice

The boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch off of some Google recommendations. Very pleased! He had the steak sandwich with fries and I had the buffalo mozzarella ravioli with mushroom sauce and a side caesar salad. All was delicious! My favorite was the ravioli :) The staff is very friendly and location is perfect. Looks like they have a nice Sunday brunch with local wines & brews. We were looking for a good local spot easily accessible to the 99 and Five Ten Bistro was perfect. Definitely recommend!

I’m here to dispel some myths: just because I am vegan does not mean I abandoned my tastebuds, nor does it mean that I’m willing to pay $ 16 for some overcooked, watery pasta and a few random vegetables. I don’t expect a restaurant to be amazing at creating something off-menu because they have no vegan options. I DO expect a restaurant to know how to cook pasta, and to have a basic idea that barely cooked green beans aren’t a good match with a miniscule amount of overcooked yellow squash and random bits of zucchini. Oh, and then there was a «sauce» that was essentially water. For $ 16.(I really should have asked what they’d charge me for this gem before I told them I was fine with asking the chefs to come up with something.) I went with too many people to drag them somewhere else that would be vegan. I should have, though. I’m a grad student. If I am going to waste my money it’s going to be on food that is actually good.

I usually come here to host potential applicants. This is one of the many selections of places to choose from. I often find myself coming here mainly because management and food here is awesome. It’s no wonder my colleagues come here often to. They have a very decent wide variety of traditional American dishes. The heavy favorite is bacon filet migon. Absolutely delicious. And. you can’t go wrong with bacon! I will eat that everyday if it didn’t clog my arteries. Next to the restaurant is a small mini bar that is well hidden. The bartender(or at the one we had) is amazing. She knows how to keep a conversation and keep us entertained. The only recommendation would be to have it open later. This place closes at 9pm and I’m usually getting started at 9.

Omg! So disappointed with lunch today! This is the first time ever I had bad lunch here! The avocado on my burger was old as hell! It tasted so gross! The penne pasta was so watered down! Gross! Ugh!!! Tried the Mahi Mahi burger and it was ok. The fish and chip was a little over fried and fries were super salted. Ekkk, Service was just ok, for it being a very slow day. I really love the ambiance of this place and owners are pretty cool and chill I just wished service was better and the food of course! Don’t get me wrong, sometimes food is on point! Cooked to perfection and temps right, but sometimes, you get a burnt bun and cold patty lol but all and all, they do have a really good Southwest burger that never seems to disappoint

I usually go to the bar area for their appetizers and drinks. It’s a great ambiance with nice and comfortable seating and TVs. They have an excellent selection of beer and wine that can take months to explore all the way. I love their Calamari and their sweet potato fries! They have a restaurant side that is fine dining style with a pricey menu. Parking is on the back side of the restaurant.
