Woohoo — thanks for sharing your review Mikey U. Live Tahitian drums, the smell of fresh ti leaves, plumeria and other purty flowers, positive competitive energy, fresh & warm malasadas, and great family and friends for company throughout the weekend — five stars all around. This competition is a great warm-up and intro for beginning dancers — they actually have a beginning and advanced category in each age range. And no rayon pareos here — it’s a bit more challenging having to show your moves in a cotton blend! Te Pura o te Rahura’a update: 12 of 19 total dancers advanced to the Solo Finals; 8 of 12 placed; 4 were first place in their respective categories and one Junior Overall winner! Congratulations to all of you for your hard work and determination — keep dancing! Fun beginning to the Tahitian dance competition year(also made easier because of the new Marriott Courtyard one freeway exit away w/a pretty great breakfast buffet at about $ 7 — review forthcoming).
