I decided to look past the bad review and see for myself what was happening in this place. I have been in St. Bernard for over 15 years and my wife was born and raised here. We actually avoided this restaurant for a while thinking there is no way it could touch the old Pudgy’s from Village Square. When I entered the store and talked to the customers(all repeat) that were there waiting for their taters, no one could believe that a bad review was ever written about the place… then I kept being told to try the«Super Duper.» I got the fried chicken spud for the wife, the alligator tater for the neighbor(yes, made with real alligator), and some fried mushrooms for myself. I was told that both potatoes were GREAT… and better than Village Square. And the mushrooms, very good. The one thing my wife asked me to pass on is that they don’t have dinner rolls :( I think that’s a fair trade for a good meal at a reasonable price.

I feel bad leaving an honest review bc they lady was really nice but it was horrible. Everything we got was MICROWAVED. We ordered 2 super spuds, boudin balls, a kids plate and 4 drinks(2 of which we weren’t charged for) and it came to 42 dollars. Not sure how that happened. I asked before we ordered if it was real crab meat and she said yes however that was not real crab meat. It had the weirdest texture like an extremely mushy pulled chicken. The guy making the food never left his spot once and the fact that everything was cooked in the microwave grossed us out.
