My hairstylist is Angela and she’s styled my hair for 6 years. I love the atmosphere, and the front desk is so welcoming.

I am new to the area and had a hair emergency. I went to a different salon which left me with orange fried hair and a cut that they told me to come back to finish because they didn’t’ have time. Impressions FIXED everything! I was so impressed with the team work. Jaime, my main stylist, had 2 other girls help so I got exactly what I wanted and everything was fixed. Jaime made time for me in her busy schedule, I never felt rushed (she even gave me a killer head massage), and she was so sweet. I really can’t believe they fixed my awful hair without having to get a crop cut. They have earned my business for life!

Not a big fan. I really did wanted to like this place just because I’ve been searching so long for a stylist I can go to more than once but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
Booked a haircut and color. I supposedly got the top stylist but wasn’t crazy about the haircut. As for color it was OK not great. I did the balayage. So after the appointment my stylist recommended to achieve the color I wanted I would have to come back. My hair was dark and I wanted to get close to light ash brown/​blondish as possible. So I took her advice and booked for the next day but with another person since she was too pricey for me the second time around ($ 180)!!
For the second time around (which seriously I don’t understand why would a stylist recommend back to back bleaching) I was desperate enough to do it because I had an important weekend and had no time to wait! bad idea! Talked to the stylist and told her exactly what I wanted and of course I knew that it was impossible to achieve my color within two appointments but did not expect it to look worse! I just wanted her to go over the existing balayage but somehow she added new ones and my hair ended being 3 – 4 different shades of brassiness! I thought OK she was going to put toner on and it will be OK but she used the blue shampoo thing to keep the blonde from being brassy but that obviously did not help. I should’ve stuck with the previous stylist bc at the end it was about the same price! She charge me $ 34 for the blue toner/​shampoo. I end up paying close to $ 300 for the two days.
I left feeling mislead and unsatisfied. I looked at myself in the car mirror and was crying. My hair was so brassy. I wish she could’ve used a different color toner. I seriously was embarrassed of my hair that I had to put it up in a bun and ran to walgreens to grab box color to tone it down!
Nice salon but not for color! Especially if you have dark hair.

I have come here on multiple occasions over a 5 year period. Never stuck with 1 stylist however yesterday I got a trim, color touch up and shelac manicure done by Jamie. She did such a great job and fixed a mediocre highlight job I had done a few months ago. I went into the salon unhappy about my hair and she was able to help me pin point exactly what it was that she would need to do for me to be happy. I don’t know much about hair so I really appreciate a stylist that isn’t afraid to give suggestions and input. I would highly recommend going to Jamie she was so sweet and friendly and spent 4.5 hours with me (nails/​cut/​color)! Will def. go back to her, she stood out for me from all the previous stylists at impressions not to say anything negative about the other stylists i went to over the years at impressions but Jamie stands out!

I have no interest trusting anyone but Impressions to cut my hair. Specifically, Madison. She has been doing my hair for a few years (many years now?), and even after moving out of the city, I will continue to go back to have her do my hair.

Claudia did an AWESOME job on my shellac mani. It still looked perfect after 3 weeks (amazing); I only took it off because the outgrowth started to look silly.

I had read an article in a Milwaukee business magazine about Impressions. They’ve been in business for 30+ yrs. so they obviously are going something right. I have gel nails so I gave them a call and set up an appt. I went there yesterday for the first time and was very impressed. The staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. I had a gel nail fill done by Monica. She was trained by world chamion nail artist, Amy Becker (of Masterworks). Monica did a fantastic job, I am very particular about my nails and had been going to Amy Becker recently until she moved. I have tried different nail techs and just was not happy at all with the results. What a relief it was to find Monica. I also had a brow wax and tint done by Angela. She did an outstanding job as well. I got to meet Julie, one of their hairstylists. She was on a break at the time, but was kind enough to take the time to do a consultation and she was able to work me into her schedule, which is very full. She went above and beyond. I was given a new customer «Welcome Bag». that had some Redken samples and some other little gifts. I’m looking forward to having other services done here.

Great service and atmosphere, and the staff is clearly among the best. Can’t recommend Impressions enough!

I have been going to Impressions for about 2 and a half years and have always left feeling beautiful with my cut and color. The kicker is, I was living in Minnesota at the time and I totally commuted for the hair services at Impressions. THAT’s how awesome it was.
I have been a platinum blonde for about 2 years now, and I had the color initially done at Impressions. It was beautiful off the bat and so I kept it up at impressions too. Once I got the color done in Minneapolis and it was. not right. I went back to Impressions and the color correction was amazing. (My hair had a weird gray-​purple tint to it before… scary.) That’s what keeps me coming back.
I have had a facial, nail services as well as hair services and even a massage at Impressions. The attention to detail is apparent and they have always taken their time with me to make sure we are on the same page (which can be very tricky when you’re getting a dramatic cut!) The front desk is attentive and welcoming and their boutique area is perfect for any last minute gifts you might need or some cute stuff for yourself.
Only downside is sometimes the place can feel sort of busy, which can be tricky for some true relaxation. I would recommend this place for nail services and hair services rather than massages.
I live in Salt Lake City now but when I visit the Milwaukee area again, Impressions will be one of the first stops I make!

Last week I walked in to Impressions with a serious color correction challenge — just the day before my hair had been destroyed by another salon… my roots were orange and I had streaks of grey /​purple from a terrible bleach and toning job. It was my first time at Impressions and I had Sarah — not only did she totally fix my hair but the price was completely reasonable, especially given the complexity of the color correction. Even though I live in downtown Milwaukee and used to go to east side salons I’m planning on making the drive up to Mequon from now on because of what a great job she did.

I went in to have my hair colored and cut, I was figuring 80 – 120, no 189! Color was not what I wanted, I asked for ashy medium brown — I got warm dark brown. I even came home with dye on my face. It was later fixed by another stylist and thankfully she did not get dye anywhere. I am glad that it was fixed, but I still did not have a good experience with this place. I will never go back with those prices!

Being a longtime patron of Impressions, it was only natural that I have my wedding updo and my bridesmaids’ hair done there. Once we set the wedding date, one of the first appointments nailed down was Impressions. We seriously booked our appointments in January knowing we wanted Impressions to be part of the day.
A few weeks before the wedding, I scheduled my hair and makeup test with Sarah, bridal hair and makeup guru for the salon. I brought in images of what I wanted. She worked from those images and my makeup description to create a preliminary style.
On the day of the wedding, I had a few mods to the hairstyle and makeup. Sarah rolled with the changes very well. She even pulled a few bobby pins when the hair wasn’t just right. She’s a perfectionist to a tee with bridal hair. She’s also incredibly sweet and saw me struggling with a rehearsal dinner, riesling induced hangover. She kindly let me eat Saltines and drink Sprite while she did my hair. I can’t say enough good things about how awesome my hair was for the wedding. It was exactly what I envisioned for the wedding. The makeup was equally perfect.
All of my bridal party raved about how awesome Impressions is as a salon. They had a wonderful time working with the stylists. Both girls looked amazing in their updo’s and makeup. We had a great, wedding morning at Impressions with their wonderful staff. I can’t thank Impressions enough for their hard work on my wedding day as well as for many excellent years of service.

Impressions is awesome! I have heard nothing but good things about this salon and spa and have experienced nothing but the best treatment here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Plus they have lots of great jewelry and little gifts in the front of the store. I would definately recommend this place to anyone looking for a salon or spa!
