If I could give this place zero stars, I would start there. I literally live right behind the lowes in Willoughby and frequent it at least once a week as my husband and I just purchased a house in the neighborhood. Everyone is always so friendly at the Willoughby location which is completely the opposite of the Mentor location. I am currently 8 months pregnant and visited this location because my Willoughby store was out of rubber flooring I was picking up for my husband. It was 830 am and the place was so hot I could barely breathe in there to start. It then took me 20 min to find someone in flooring to help me find the correct flooring I came in for and he rolled his eyes when he had to go fetch a ladder to get the backstock up top. On top of that I had to load it in my own cart and the flooring was extremely heavy. My next stop was the home furnishing section to get curtains for my bedroom. I had my two year old with me and he was less than thrilled that we had to search for more help to find the specific curtain fabric I came in for. There were two employees on the clock looking at curtains in the same aisle as I struggled to keep my two year old from climbing out of the cart and neither of them were helpful. They pointed to a vicinity that the curtain could be in and went on their merry way. I finally got fed up and went to checkout and told the cashier what happened. She then called over the PA for someone to help me in that aisle so I went back and waited another 5 min for no one to show up. Never again will I visit or recommend this location!

It took multiple horrible customer service visits for me to write this review. I’m actually still sitting in the parking lot because I’m that frustrated with this place. I’ve always been a Home Depot shopper, but have decided to give Lowe’s a try on a few occasions. And now I’m questioning myself why? The sales people are seriously SO rude, they don’t want to help you, they act like they’re going out of their way when they do have to help you. You all could really take some pointers from Home Depot. I have never had one bad expierence there and the employees are so much nicer and helpful. If you don’t like your job, get a new one! Or maybe they just need a new manager! Eitherway fix the problem! The employee in the lawn and garden section has seriously got to go! This would be the 3rd time I’ve had to deal with him and he is seriously such an asshole!

Jan. 25 @ about 5:00pm I ordered a bathroom toilet paper roll. I ck-ed the time that the store will be open, it said(8:00pm). After the nightly news, which is on @ 7:00pm, I drove up to Lowe’s to pick up my item, which I ordered online. THESTOREWASCLOSED. Came home & Went on their website… guess what? It said it was OPEN…(NOT).

Our story begins with Home Depot in Mentor. My family was in need of a new washer and dryer and had purchased a model from Home Depot that was set to be delivered 3 weeks after we ordered it, 2 days before Thanksgiving. The day before delivery we called to make sure that the delivery was still on schedule only to find out several very disconcerting things. First was that our delivery had been rescheduled to the day prior to Thanksgiving, a day we would not be home and we were never notified of the change. Second was that when Home Depot sets up a delivery, they are no longer involved. They outsource delivery to another company who has no motivation to resolve any issues whatsoever. They recommended 2 solutions, either have a neighbor let them into my house or leave the door open for them to do the installation. We chose to cancel the order. We then went to Lowe’s in Mentor to shop for a washer and dryer, the day before Thanksgiving. The appliance manager, Enore, was very helpful and assured or machines would be delivered the following Sunday. When the much anticipated delivery day arrived, our order was unfortunately delayed. An emergency had occured and the delivery was rescheduled to the following day. Enore, made sure that the delivery occured after we were home from work and even came out on the delivery himself to enure we were fully satisfied. Unlike Home Depot they took full responsibility for the delay and made every effort to rectify the situation. We will now be lifelong Lowes customers.

Wow, what a POOR customer service experience, actually a continued nightmare, I am having with my local store Lowe’s in Mentor, OH. On 12/16/2012, I visited the store to see what kind(if any) of oversized foyer lighting they might carry. In speaking with the local salesperson, John, he inquired if I was aware of special order pieces and/or their newly acquired ATG stores web store. I had not, but he informed me that ordering through either of these outlets was simple and that the items could even be shipped directly to my home. I thanked him and looked through the special order books and didn’t find any product to my liking. I went home and entered the ATG stores portal through the Lowe’s website and found exactly what I wanted. On 12/22/2012, my husband and I visited our local Lowe’s store to order the product in-store. The salesman, Don, had never done an ATG sale before and so called in three other salesmen to help… finally, Cynthia(Ass’t Store Manager) came to the rescue and was able to get the light ordered. All told, this process took over 1 ½ hours!!! Not the«easy process» I’d envisioned. While there, Jan, in installation sales, confirmed that Lowe’s could do the installation. So, we paid an additional $ 35 so that an installer could come out to measure and quote on the installation of the fixture in our 20 foot foyer. Five days later, John, the installer, looked at the ceiling height and seemed surprised that it was indeed 18 ½ feet high. Even though it was on the work order, it was as if he was looking at an alien. He said that he’d report back to installation sales and that Jan or Carol would call me back. Another four days passed before Ron, another installer, came to look at what was required and said that he would get the quote back to Lowe’s in several days. Finally, eight days after the second installer came, I received a call from my local Lowe’s store with the final installation quote. The caller, the original salesman, Don, left a message saying that anyone could handle the payment and generation of the Installation Contract. I should have known better… I spent 1.75 hours, and got over 7 different people involved, before the necessary paperwork was generated and payment was made. During the almost two hours I was in the store, the manager on call, Jason, did not respond to one of the EIGHT calls for help that went out to him. Too busy, I imagine. I should have known that this would not be the end of the end of my saga… it is now 1÷15÷2013, I paid for the install on 1÷10÷2013, and I HAVENOTYETRECEIVED A CALLFROMTHEINSTALLER. I spoke to the MOD, Jason, at 4:45 pm YESTERDAY… he promised to look into it and get back to me… surprise, surprise, NOTHINGYET! And this is the same Jason who did not respond to one in-house page over an almost two hour time period! Talk about worthless! Some of their employees tout the acquisition of ATG, but Lowe’s is not doing their customers any service by promoting their use of this USELESS program. Their sales staff and management staff are virtually worthless… I will NEVER, EVER order anything, including installation, from them again.

While visiting my mom in August 2011, I took her shopping for some household necessities — welcome to Mentor! Everything is a strip mall and mostly big box national chains! First stop on «Tour de Mentor Ave Mega Box Store Strip» is Lowe’s Hardware — my mom needs a dehumidifier for her apartment which is a garden level apartment and — hey — it’s OHIO! Let’s try not to live in the bottom of a swimming pool for six months, right? This Lowe’s is pretty standard as far as my experiences with Lowe’s stores goes: very big store, no staff to help answer questions, dirty floors. Check-out was relatively painless and we didn’t have too much trouble picking out a dehumidifier and some cheap tools(made in China, of course!) so my mom would have some basic tools at home. Lots of parking but if you have a nice car, just park at the outside edge of the lot.
