Staff here are really nice and friendly and they have some great books here. They even have some good CDs and DVDs and even computer games. Some of the prices are higher than I expected for a half price book store but much less than Barnes and Noble for sure. Great place to unload your old books, movies and CDs as they buy used books, CDs and DVDs and give you cash (not a lot but better than getting nothing).

This HPB seems like it needs a BIG facelift. When I went in a couple of weeks ago I was looking for some good reading material and manga. I came in to see that the store was packed with people that seemed to wondering around with no pourpose.
Their was only one person working the WHOLE store. It was rather dissapointing. And it was impossible to ask the man a question because he was constantly checking people out.
Now lets get to the books. the fiction section was terrible. They had about 50 diffrent copies of all the books that looked terrible, and i only found one book that looked ok.
The next section that I went to was the Manga section. This section was not as terrible, Now dont get me wrong, the section was VERY small. But the books where quite good. I picked 7 or 8 titles and also found one that was in Japanese!
If you go to this HPB bo not expect a any good reading, but the comics and manga are preety good :)

I thought i’d review this one since Lake County gets very little run on Unilocal.I have been to all of the half price books. Rocky River’s is by my work so i’ve been there the most. The old Shaker Hts. location was my favorite with the Mentor store a close second. I only really buy music here. I’ve browsed the books, but never found anything too interesting. They are not too generous on trades. But i have yet to bring in my copy of the dead sea scrolls. Those might nab me that Motorhead anthology they got up there.
That said, the vinyl selection is always mediocre, but there are a few gems every now and then. One time i picked up a belly dance-​Middle Eastern lp that is still one of my faves some seven years later. I even stumbled in here in a complete haze after a root canal to wait for my ride. I had blood on my chin and i think i might’ ve been drooling. But i look like that most of the time i see records.
