A real joke! After having my mom’s Bible for over 5 months, and telling her numerous times that he would have it back soon(only to say when she checked back in that he needed more time), she finally had to go down today and practically take it back. Pages were torn, pages were cut wrong, the cover had numerous bubbles on the front and back. The inside cover was peeling away as it had not been glued properly. I can not believe my mom even paid this man. Even more so, I can not believe a person in business would even consider this mess acceptable. I can’t believe she paid him. This was a brand new Bible when she took it in to be rebound and now she will have to have it redone again or will have to settle for a shotty job. Would NEVER recommend.

First time awesome, second time dissapointing! Nowdays not a lot of people dedicate to this fine craft. The first time I went to The Book Craftsman I took a bible to get restored for my mom´s birthdate and it was excellent !!! The delicate and fine touches were great and definetly this is not an amateurs job and after 4 years it´s still perfect! BUT a couple of weeks ago I attempted to restore another book and the previous craftsman doesnt work there anymore, so I didnt get a service because the owner Mike actually doesnt know a lot about bookbinding nor restauration. But good news! I come to learn that the previous craftman that worked there now has its own bussiness called American Book Art just around the corner and the prices are great! Thank you Benjamin, you are a true artist !

The added two books were finished when promised and beautifully restored. These gentlemen are artists!

My husband has had at least 3 books rebound here. Every time, perfection. They are very pleasant to speak with. We have never had a problem with their opening hours.

I have stopped by a few times throughout the years. The store has never been open. Finally a person inside unlocked the door but could not give me any information however I did receive a business card. I have called during their so called business hours and have yet to get an answer or receive a call back. I am going elsewhere. thank you.

I have used Mike«The Book Craftsman» for years and years and I always get my binding or repairs done on time and for a very fair price. I have sent many of my viewers/listeners to him and will continue to support this business.

I sent my Great-Grandmother’s prayer book to The Book Craftsman FOUR months ago. «Mike» is the owner and is exceptionally rude. No matter how polite I was, he always had a snide remark to make. I normally write positive reviews, but I want to prevent others from dealing with the nightmare I dealt with. My prayer book needed something done at a jeweller. He said he had a partnership with one and would take care of it. His only way to connect with the jeweller was to be at a coffee shop at a certain time, in hopes the jeweller came in for his regular coffee. Then the jeweller went to Thailand for a month without telling him. I asked to just pay him for the binding work he did and then contact the jeweller directly. He would not hear of it. Four months later I asked for my book back, half repaired after he send me the most insulting comment in an email. If you do use The Book Craftsman, it won’t be long before you are reminded of this email. He is an old man, who should retire, or at least NOT be dealing with people. I deal with many people in my profession. I used every skill I had to be kind, and not say anything that might set him off. No matter what I did, he would always slide in some nasty remark. If karma exists, Mike will be paying back the misery he causes others for many lifetimes to come.
