This speedway continues to improve. Let me describe one way they have done so: I understand this gas station isn’t a family-owned and operated joint with roots spiraling deep down into the community; however, that doesn’t mean Speedway isn’t invested in the community. Upon a recent visit, I saw taped to their cashier’s counter — a VERY eye-catching, conspicuous place that tons of people are bound to see — a poster stating someone’s cat had recently been found and the intention was to get the kitty back to its original home. I think what had been in poster kitty’s spot previously was a display of e-cigarettes or 99-cent, Pennzoil-flavored cookies. I’m used to seeing plenty of «4 Sale» flyers and Cheapo Insta Weightloss Program vouchers out and about in gas stations, NOT posters trying to send a lost cat back to its family. That the notice was displayed in such a prominent place said, to me at least, that the operators of the gas station were willing to assign that space to a monetarily unprofitable venture that would intangibly benefit the overall well-being of the community. Rock on, Speedway.
