We were in the area and wanted a good home-​cooked country meal — Bonnie’s delivered and then some!
I had a hankering for fried catfish until I saw they also had fried chicken livers on the menu. I told our waitress I couldn’t decide and she said, «Why not have both?» So I did.
Two fried filets of catfish and a side order of chicken livers and I was a happy boy. I couldn’t finish them so I’ve got some leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
We also tried their spicy corn nuggets which were awesome — highly recommended!
We’ll definitely stop by Bonnie’s the next time we’re in the area.

Got gas next door on the way through the area. On the way back a couple of days later, it just happened to be meal time (how convenient, eh?). Pulled in to the gas station next door to see if I had won $ 1.2 BILLION dollars — nope, not on the last drawing. Walked over to Bonnie’s and joined a half dozen diners. All seemed to be enjoying their food and the service — as did I. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken with green beans and corn fritters. Waitress was very friendly and helpful — even brought a tea refill before I needed it. :) Just might have to plan my next trip this way to be in this area around meal time again!
p. s. TV was playing a changing selection of flower pictures and playing country music — much nicer than a ball game!

Stumbled on this place tonight on the way to a wedding and could not have been more pleased. Service was excellent and the food could not have been better. They have a very diverse menu ranging from burgers to seafood. I’ll find my way back sooner than later.

Might seem a little out of the way to drive to Menlo for a meal, but it’s well worth the effort. Bonnie’s is one of only a few restaurants in the county that still can do good country cooking. I’ve only been there during their wonderful Sunday lunch buffet, but I’m pretty sure if the rest of their food is just as good we’ll definitely check them out some other time of day as well.
