A+ for the trainers. They know their stuff, instructions are clear and they show you how to do everything correctly with proper form. They will make sure that you are able to do a lift/exercise correctly before adding more weight or going onto the next step. Sparta puts as much emphasis on rest and regeneration as they do on training hard and being powerful. They help you understand and set goals to be a complete efficient athlete. There is state of the art equipment. Force Plate, which analyzes the amount of force you put into the ground. Based off the findings they help you strengthen your weaknesses. There is video feedback after your exercises so you can see an exercise you just did. You can see if anything needs to be worked on, or what you did right to continue to improve, and be a self aware athlete. Sparta has many different athletes coming through the door; soccer, rugby, volleyball, baseball, water polo, skeleton(you might have to look that one up), football, track and field. No matter your sport they are able to train you to become a better athlete and obtain your goals. Fun atmosphere, great people, dedicated athletes, good times!

I can go on and on about how dedicated and knowledgeable the staff is at Sparta, or the detail that goes into every personalized workout, but I wanted to write a review that touches on one of the subtler gains I have taken with me from Sparta and then implemented them into my sport. I am a pitcher whose biggest problem my entire career has been maintaining continuous focus from pitch to pitch throughout an entire outing or game. In the few months I have been at Sparta, this issue is becoming a thing of the past. Within every workout at Sparta, there are many lifts that involve a great amount of technique and skill. In order to truly master these skilled techniques you need constant focus. You will get stronger, and faster no matter what from these lifts, but the complexities of them have given me much more than strength or speed. They have trained me to go movement by movement through every workout in order to succeed. Now when I throw my bullpens, play long toss, etc. I go «pitch by pitch», and that is the only way to have a long and successful big league career. I have always known about the idea of going pitch by pitch. I have read about going pitch by pitch, been told about it hundreds of times, but sometimes it takes more than words for some athletes. For me, it took Sparta. I can’t wait to take this new found focus, and see the results during this upcoming season.

This place is as good as it gets for serious training. If you are a high school, college, or professional athlete this is the place to train if you want to take your game to the next level. They use sports science and the force plate to test all their athletes and from the results, they come up with a workout with specific weights for that specific athlete. The trainer to athlete ratio is always 1:1 for your training days and they give you upper body workouts for the other days. It is well worth the money. They put their athletes on a regeneration program where they track sleep habits, water consumption, protein and veggie consumption, and fish oil pills. Amino Acid and Protein Supplements are supplied by Sparta for their athletes. It is a very serious environment for serious athletes.
