Along with other reviewers, if I could give zero stars I would. I was not refunded my money after a medical situation and moving out of state. If you have ANY life events that you think may happen, do not do this challenge. If you really want to do this — just do the membership(which they don’t offer off the bat by the way — they want you to do the challenge and put up those big bucks). I started this bootcamp to kick start healthy living after being a super stressful job, 4.5 weeks in out of the 6 weeks(ANDONTRACK) I vommited up blood — I ended up having bleeding ulcers. This was not the camps fault of course, but by doctors orders I wasn’t allowed to continue any kind of strenuous workouts. I was not allowed to try and diet the rest of the program even though they spoke so highly of tilapagus — they wouldn’t give me a refund — they said I had to do it ALLOVERAGAIN. This was after already losing 15 pounds that quickly! Not only that, but I had discussed with Johnny I might have to move by the next program after being deemed healthy — and when I moved to Arizona they still wouldn’t refund my money. Your contract does not have any refund for shit happening. As others say, Johnny also doesn’t seem to have much nutritional knowledge, and seems much more like a business manager. The trainers and people you will meet are the only decent thing about this place. If you’re still hell bent on doing this — keep your fingers crossed life doesn’t come up, and you better have more than 20+ pounds to lose to succeed.

Review I have tried quite a few exercise programs throughout the years. Im currently a member of a well known gym. There, no one talks to you unless they are selling something. Members go about their workouts without interaction or direction. I have also tried many many diets. Some of them have worked and at least twice as many have failed. You read a book or hear about it from a friend who can’t seem to remember all the details. No support, no guidance. This is not like any of that. Everyone involved is there, present and helpful. The staff, the trainers and the other participants are all actively supporting each other with encouragement and advice. Add in the online communication and its a winning combination. You are the only thing that can hold You back.

Six weeks ago I joined the camp because I wanted/needed to lose some weight. I’ve been trying to do it on my own but always ended up quitting. I started this program a little scared because I didn’t know what to expect. After six weeks I can say that the camp helped me lose 21.9 pounds and helped me change the way I was eating. It wasn’t easy to get used to healthy foods and work outs specially during thanksgiving but I did it. I finished strong and everything was with the help of the trainers and the people surround me. I recommend this camp to everyone that wants to get fit and change their life style.

My experience at The Camp was great. I joined for a 6 week challenge that started in mid September. Over the next 6 weeks I physically and mentally pushed myself to a total weight loss of 24.8 pounds. The front counter staff take the time to know your face and greet you by name when you sign-in. The trainers all have varied personalities and styles to their workouts that keep things fun and from being monotonous. I was able to message the director with any questions and received prompt answers with words of encouragement. Overall, if you want to take control of your health(and your jeans size), while having a good time in a positive place, then give The Camp a chance.

I joined The Camp looking for a healthy lifestyle change, a way to continue my healthy eating and working out. I ate pretty good going into this challenge but did not workout– I thought this would be my solution. While the trainers are AMAZING the nutritional consultant(camp director Johnny) does not have the knowledge to be giving out nutritional advice. When you sign up you are given The Camp Bible– this is your guide of what you can/can’t eat, how often eat, etc. You are told to follow it to the T and not to deviate from it. Yet Johnny went against this! At week 4 when I was only down 5.5lbs Johnny recommended(which basically means I need to do this if I want to loose weight and get my money back) to do 2 Camp workouts a day and an additional cardio session. That means working out at least 3 hours a day where I am burning calories– Oh and DONOT add any additional food in. So basically my body went into starvation mode. I was only taking in maybe 900 calories(something I also brought up to Johnny– and he needed to do «more research» on). With taking in so low calories and then doing the amount of workouts he recommended I needed to do my body was left with nothing to survive on. I was weak, tired and EXTREMELY grumpy. At this time I also talked with Johnny about my concern for building too much muscle and asked if I should be lifting lighter weights and doing more reps. Johnny told me that you cannot build muscle in 6 weeks… what!!! When I entered week 5 I had only lost 8.2 lbs(and I had been eating by their strict diet everyday/every meal for the prior weeks) I was then told to do their Tilapgus diet– this is when you eat Tilapia and Asparagus for EVERY meal. Yep 6 times a day!!! In the The Camp Bible this shows as a week 6 plan if you are still not close to making weight. Also, the owner SAM posted several times on facebook this is a week 6 plan and CANNOT be done more than one week. This is a typical diet for a fitness competitor to do prior to a show as it basically dehydrates your body. Yet Johnny told me and SEVERAL others to do it for 2 weeks!!! On this diet you are only taking in 600 or calories! It’s no wonder that we had people on the brink of passing out in class due to their lack of nutrients and being dehydrated. I chose not to follow his advice for my last week and went back to eating FTDI. Another complaint I have is that when I first went in to get more information on the Challenge and talked with Johnny he was able to see the shape I was in– I had maybe 15−20lbs to loose as I would be building muscle in the process. He NEVER mentioned what my options were, do the challenge or get a membership. I would have rather had my $ 497 go towards a membership but did not know you could be a member without completing a challenge. He just wanted my money. the whole time he has been focused on hitting his numbers(hence the tilapgus diet for TWOWEEKS!!) I believe that as a company it is the obligation of the employees, especially the managers to be honest with customers. The challenge is presented as an elite group, only 30 are accepted yet we have over 30 in ours and there are almost 60 in the new challenge group! If you are willing to spend the money they will take it. it doesn’t matter how many they already have signed up. Do NOT believe their emails they send out that«Two more spots just opened», they are mass emails sent from EVERY location(I know because I got the same exact email from Menifee as I did the Riverside location) Coincidence? I think NOT! At the end of my challenge I lost 11.6 lbs and almost 14″ total. I am very happy with my results but do feel they were affected by their Camp director/Nutrition consultant lack of knowledge. I made some amazing friends at The Camp, and the trainers and office staff are OUTSTANDING!!! Many of the trainers work at other gyms, I would recommend you look them up and take their classes there.

THINKABOUTIT!!! The only way their business plan works is if you don’t succeed. These folks will tell you that they’ve transformed thousands of lives. That is true, but they don’t tell you that an equal or larger number don’t succeed and forfeit their $ 500.00 My wife joined and I supported her by doing the diet portion of the regimen. Basically, it’s daily workouts, low or limited carbs and diuretics. In other words, all the tricks we used in wrestling to drop weight before a match. That’s fine, but it’s water weight, and it comes right back as soon as you drink water again. I lost 30# just by eating clean with my wife. I didn’t participate in the Camp. My wife has been working out 5 days a week for years and had hit a wall. We thought this might be a good change to shock her system. As it turns out, the director of the Menifee camp is not very knowledgable, and just tells the girls to post questions to facebook… WHAT… Just ask your peers. What happens is that the 20 – 30 somethings with 40 or more pounds to lose, and most of the males show great progress. If you don’t show progress they just blame it on you not following the instructions.(EVENTHOUGHFOLLOWINGTHEDIRECTIONSHASLANDEDTHEIRCAMPMEMBERSINTHEEMERGENCYROOMFORSEVEREDEHYDRATION!!) On the plus side, my wife made some good friends and the workouts were challenging. If you want to try a boot camp, go for it. Just buy a membership for a month… don’t do the challenge. The deck is stacked against you. Statistically, more than 50 percent have to fail in order for The Camp to keep doors open and pay their employees.
