Service here beats the food. The food isn’t bad though, just meh, so is the menu options.
I had breakfast here twice and lunch once, they are fast and efficient, great for a quick rendezvous without worries about lines, pagers, etc… go in and stuff your face… the way I like it. *Burrrrrp*

Great omelettes, great service. Best and most friendly waitress I’ve had in years. Yes the place is a bit dated but who cares. ten minutes after we ordered the food arrived hot and fresh. Waitresses are professionals, not kids working part time. I will be back often. It was very quiet inside there also.

Food like your grandma cooks… if your grandma just dumps everything out of a can, onto the plate, and into the microwave.
But, they do get the extra star for the friendly staff.

Friendly right when you walk in and GREAT pricing for whet you get! I love the feel the the restaurant gives and how simple the menu is too.

Absolutely delicious breakfast, great friendly service and quick !! Enjoyed my two egg veggie and meat scramble ! Their biscuits and gravy are to die for !!!

I thought this was place was great. I travel a lot and always seek out these little diner-​style places for a good breakfast. Some other reviews complained about décor being outdated but that’s half the charm. Service was fantastic and food was pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever had but solid all around. Except for the pancakes… the pancakes may have actually been the best I’ve ever had. I even went back a second day for more.

I’ve eaten there many times, and I think they do an excellent job. They don’t try to be fancy. It’s just a clean little business, serving mainly the local residents. and true, most of us are old, but we still appreciate tasty, well prepared food. I like it mainly for breakfasts.
I do admire the fact that they have employed some of their friendly, knowledgeable wairesses for nearly 30 years. Good food at reasonable prices. What’s not to like?

We’ve eaten here several times over the last couple years. Even on an off day for the cook the food is awesome. Service is friendly, place is clean and pricing is reasonable. They make several items from scratch like their thousand island & bleu cheese dressings. If you’re looking for some place off the beaten path, come give it a try.

Decent food, good service. Interesting cast of characters made up of regulars and staff. A place where people go to socialize. Prices are a steal and I really enjoyed their fish and chips. Breakfast meals are decent as well.

I’ve been here a number of times but, for whatever reason, I’m just now writing a review.
**THE SETTING**
The name says it all, «Sun City Family Restaurant.» It’s located in The community of Sun City in the city of Menifee. The restaurant is definitely geared toward senior citizens and while the décor might be a bit dated, I think it works. There doesn’t need to be anything ultra modern there.
**THE SERVICE**
We’ve eaten here for breakfast and it’s the same waitress every time, Laurie. She’s sweet and knows all of the regulars that come in frequently. It’s the breakfast place for this community. Take out is also available.
**THE FOOD** We’ve ordered almost everything from the breakfast menu. Anything from French Toast to Corned Beef Hash to Omelets to Breakfast Burritos, our food has always been served promptly and tasted delicious. The prices are inexpensive, too. It’s like comfort food.
**OVERALL**
We love this restaurant, it does cater to it’s demographic (seniors), but it works and whenever I have the hankering for breakfast, I’ll continue to choose Sun City Family Restaurant!

Well my family & I use to go to this place but I have to agree with some ppl’s reviews, the restaurant is out dated. It can get busy depending on the time of the day you go. Food is okay. Drinks are okay. But overall, this restaurant needs a few renovations.

The water was delicious. Clean, refreshing, hint of lemon due to the slices of lemon in the pitcher. The eggs benedict were cooked well the hollandaise sauce tasted good. The service was friendly and very attentive. The value was great. The negatives were the hash browns tasted of grill grease. the décor was very dated and falling apart.

This place is so outdated no fresh vegetables everything comes out of a can place needs renovation badly although the owner is quite nice and accommodating. They should throw away the microwave make everything fresh

I’ve eaten here several times and the place is always clean. The décor is very outdated but this is Sun City and it lends to the good ol’ fashion diner experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If there’s one downfall to this place, it’s the food. I know that taste can be subjective and in my opinion the food here is very bland. It’s not bad, it’s just not great. Perhaps the local senior citizens don’t mind the bland flavors but I prefer a little more sapidity in my food. Also, their prices are reasonable.

Honestly, this place doesn’t do much for me. Old looking interior, almost fast type minimal food. Nice people and servers. From the reviews I expected MORE!

The food is horrible! Eggs were watery, sausage had to much fat, hash browns tasted like oil, there country fried steak was not edible, coke tasted nasty, and their ketchup was some off brand and was watered down! highly dont recommend!!!

I give this place 4 stars because they aren’t super great but it deserves more than 3 stars. Keep in mind this place caters to the senior citizens in the area. Food is good ol’ diner quality food,… simple. It won’t knock your socks off and if you want it seasoned then ask for it. The staff is very friendly and willing to do what it takes to make your meal pleasant. It is a casual, nice place for a simple meal.

We love this place. You are immediately greeted when you walk in the door. We always get Mary Lou (I believe is her name) and she is so sweet. Pretty smile and great service. She is quite busy but never makes you feel rushed or ignored. This is not comparable to Dennys’, Coco’s, Carrow’s, etc. This is more home-​y.
The food is quite good, and a good deal, too! You won’t be disappointed.

We came here because of previous Unilocal reviews. I do believe they were understaffed today, but service was extremely slow. Breakfast was just ok. Portions very small and taste was average. In fact the toast came out after our meal was gone. The staff was very friendly and apologetic though.
I would like to give them another chance, but won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
