Pueblo Viejo Mexican Food

I came by here because I was craving a breakfast burrito but yo my surprise they weren’t even open! What kind of place that sells breakfast isn’t open at 8am?!

Best carne asada torta around. Really good salsa too.

Taco Tuesday, always a hit! Fresh, fast and delicious. Oh, and inexpensive. Service is ok, not always friendly and that’s what knocks off two stars.

I got to say that I was not impressed by the exterior… once in the restaurant it is clean, bathroom was clean and overall nice… they are friendly: D I ordered a chicken burrito and a small orchata. It was under $ 9 the chicken burrito was nice and big and I got to say it was a nice surprise. I am used to dry chicken but this burrito was moist and flavorful. Had many salsas to choose from and I asked for some guacamole after I ordered and did not charge me extra for it :) I would definitely recommend.

If want to eat some AMERICAN– Mexican food this is the place to eat :)…
Today I had the combination plate #2 (enchilada and chile relleno) the majority of chiles relleno a I’ve ever had have cheso cotija or other kind of Mexican cheese not cheddar cheese smh :(

First time for me. Too many people behind the counter talking didn’t feel that personal attention. Food was amazing. Going back in hopes the atmosphere is different.

Love the Carne Asada fries! And the shredded beef tacos are amazing!!! Staff is extremely friendly. I am there at least once a week, and never had an issue with the food or quality.

The food was good, but the service was terrible. The girl Erika who took our order was rude and wouldn’t give us our 10% with our discount card and our order was wrong. We had the taquitos, Carne asada fries, quesadilla and bean burrito. All were good except the chicken in the taquitos was very dry.

Ordered a Chile Verde burrito, but they shouldn’t call it that cause there was no green sauce (Chile Verde) at all and the pork was cold! Also they charge for salsas not going back

I consider myself an enthusiast of authentic Mexican food, and this was my first time at Pueblo Viejo. I came at 2pm and it wasn’t crowded. The store looked nice and clean though, low noise level and good lighting.
The service was very quick. I ordered the special which was a single enchilada (I added chicken at no added cost) with beans and rice with a small drink. The enchilada was pretty flavorful, it came with red sauce that was very mild. I could have done without the lettuce and tomato garnish that covered it but it added a nice freshness to it. Really enjoyed the rice. The beans disappointed me, I thought they were quite bland and did not seem fresh.
Overall, positive experience. The beans were a big let down but I plan on going back for the taco special because it seems pretty crowded in there on taco Tuesdays.

Awesome food. The staff is always friendly and the food is always fresh. Their salsa is by far the best I’ve found at a local taco shop. Love the flautas for $ 0.99 on Mondays too! Can’t beat it.

Was told this the brother of owner Mi Pueblo and better. NO, its not. Seems cleaner (tables tops aren’t sticky), newer décor but not even close on shredded beef tacos. Felt meat was watery, tasteless, shells fried burnt oil. Not for me. Besides, Mi Pueblo has better prices.

I have eaten there often because of the enchiladas, the counter girls are consistent in being rude and unfriendly, if it were for them, I will never go back
Will someone train these girls in human relations???

Taco Tuesday! The only reason I keep coming back. Their tacos are my personal favorite tacos in the area. The quality is just right and I wouldn’t change a thing!

I come here every week and get their beef flautas with guac, so crispy and delicious! Best food ever!!!

I moved to the area 4 years ago. I am vegan. Its wonderful that they offer potato tacos! No meat just potatoes, lettuce and pico de gallo, I don’t eat the cheese.
My son and my husband are addicted to the bean and rice burritos.
The chips come with cheese on them so we always ask for no cheese. Let’s face it, it’s Mexican food, it’s kind of greasy (if you’re looking for low fat Mexican food, this isn’t your place)
The salsa bar has some of the best red sauce in town.
The service is always fast and friendly. I would call this place reliable. You can always rely on it to be good and the service to be good. It’s not the best place in town but it’s certainly not the worse. It’s convenient to our house and we enjoy going one or twice a month.
We don’t eat meat so we’ve never had the problems with meat as the other reviewers. The beans and rice and potato tacos are yummy and the salsa is bomb.
The prices are reasonable and they have good specials. I recommend trying this place. Don’t expect to be knocked off your feet by the best food in the world, but you’ll be satisfied. The portions are big and food served hot and cooked to order. Enjoy!

Im new to the area and was looking for some authentic Mexican food. What a mistake! I ordered some asada tacos but the meat they use here is horrible. (taste bland, no seasoning used just bad!) Not sure if it gets cooked and sits in a fridge, but definitely NOT FRESH! First time here and last.

Love their chicken tacos and their red hot sauce. It’s so good! I’ve never had red sauce like theirs before its got a nice kick to it. However I am not a fan of their shredded beef tacos no flavor. Overall I really love this taco shop!

I have eaten here many times over the years and I will say I have had good food here over the years. Today however I ordered a tostada and although it had lots of meat (Carnitas) it was very dry and tasteless. It was also tough and difficult to chew. The beans we’re also dry and the tortilla was cold and looked like it came out of a box. There were many people here having lunch but for myself there are many other places I can go, where I can depend on having great food. I wonder how many times this place has changed ownership over the years.
