Went to Dollar Tree with my sister in Menifee to pick up a few things and the store smelled like mold and the floor was wet! I complain to the cashier and she stated that the management has been complaining to corporate about the health issues of mold! Corporate has done nothing. Seems they don’t care about their employees or customers only about making a buck!!! They also charge customers a dollar for cash back! Imagine that! After buying items at the store only to pocket a free dollar back from customer cash back requests! Here’s a plan fix the floor health risk issues, stop charging good customers so much for cash back after spending money in you store! I hope to see at least the floor issue resolved or the health department might pay a visit!

It’s okay Greeting Cards 2 for $ 1. Be careful selecting school supplies for authenticity. I exchanged a folder with prongs because the rings do not line up with the paper. The manager let me pick out any item I wanted and I chose a much needed notebook. Good service.

Kudos to the cashiers. I think I’ve only gotten females but they are always really sweet

My son, whom is 5 years old asked the clerk at the cash register to Chang his dollar into 4 quarters so he could get gum out of the gum ball machine. She gave him the quarters. He put his 2 quarters in and nothing came out. I told the young man at the register, my son put his 2 quarters in and the machine didn’t give him his gum. A woman that worked there, walked around the man at the register and said to me as she walked over to the gum ball machine and pulled a bunch of stuff away from the side of the machine and says they don’t own the machine and we have to call the number. I said,“what”? She says again you have to call this number, that’s buried behind a bunch of boxes, we don’t refund those machines… I said to the woman, this little boy save his dollar to spend it on something that just stole his money and you can’t give him his .50 cents. She said no. And starts to repeat herself, you have to call this number. I said ok, I heard you. I’m asking you if you have a machine in your store that your unable to refund this child that is standing here crying, why would you not have a sign up that people could see this so they would have an option to not use the machine? Again she says the same rehearsed line. I then said you shouldn’t have a machine in the store that you would not take responsibility for. As I walked away, she said loud enough for me, my son her co-worker to hear, so it was more than a mutter or anything under her breath, «oh my god»! Very sarcastic! I walked out of the store. I then turned around, went back into the store and went and asked for a store manager. That woman said that’s me! I said ok, I need your name… She points to her name tag and points to her first and last name very Rudely and says my name is «Emily Turner» and says to me «ok». Let me tell you this Emily Turner, I will never shop there again until you are no longer employed there! I will be calling your corporate office first thing in the morning! I refuse to take rude customer service. If you don’t like your job, quit! Lots of people in this town that need jobs!

Dollar tree is a chain and like all chains they all basically have the same stuff. Very inexpensive stuff made in China. With that said, the location in Menifee as measured against other stores in the chain, is very small. I’ve been to the mega store in Murrieta on Cal Oaks, now that’s a store! As for the store in Menifee there are pros and cons. Major pro is location. It’s close to my home and very convenient. I’ve never had a bad experience with staff. I’ve either had neutral staff no personality to over the top friendly… never met anyone of putting our rude. That’s a plus! I would consider this particular location to be rated«adequate» this store pretty much has just enough to fit your needs. Perhaps you may go in on a day that everything has been picked over and missed out because we do live in a small town and times that they sell out of items quickly, especially seasonal items. To better serve our growing community they need more stock. I’m not saying we need to build a bigger Dollar Tree, simply that it’s small for the amount of people it serves. You can buy everything here from socks, tooth brushes to pet supplies, arts and crafts, kitchen tools, cleaning supplies to party favors and junk food. Everything for $ 1! The Mylar balloons are awesome for parties or last minute gifts. Just remember that this is not going to be your high quality merchandise this is the budget level straight from China. I don’t think there is anything in the store NOT made in China. So, if you go in expecting to get stuff for a dollar and realize it may not last very long… you’ll be fine. We go for school projects, they have white board(sometimes), party favors, kitchen tools and cards mostly but have purchased even dishes and glasses and summer flip flops. They have it all when it’s in stock. The kids like the glow in the dark plastic necklaces too for parties and holidays. Adequate. Key word. Cheap. Key word! Not big enough or at least not enough stock. I’m a regular. I’ll be back. If I have time I’ll drive to the cal oaks location for better selection.

The line was INSANE. I am in a normal-sized, manual wheelchair and there are several aisles I can’t go down because of the junk on the floor. It needs cleaned and they need to hire more and faster cashiers!

Balloons galore! I buy balloons here all the time for my daughter, for $ 1 each!!! Can’t beat that! Party City usually charges me $ 9 – 25 for a balloon, so this is a steal! I also like to get toothbrushes, paper plates and any party supply here. The other day, I got tons of candies to fill a piñata for $ 9! My daughter likes bubbles so I buy a lot of bubbles from here for $ 1, it’s pretty awesome. Crafts are much cheaper here than Michael’s, so I end up buying little things to make.
