Went there for years, but had back-to-back bad experiences last fall and again this year. Mediocre pieces of oil soaked fish and a piece of shell in the marginal clam fritters. Both of us not feeling good through the next day. Won’t be going back.

My husband and I love coming here on summer nights when we don’t want to cook. The clam cakes & chowder are amazing! This is a great place to come & just hang out outside while eating yummy seafood. I would give it 5 stars if they accepted credit cards.

I know it would be 4 stars if I didn’t order it to go. Even if you live close by, it will be tepid and soggy. Better packaging would help. A paper plate inside a paper bag is a huge problem. Good food, but for the prices you charge, you can afford Styrofoam.

We went there the other day to get food and after waiting too long, we figured out that they do NOT take credit cards. Their excuse was that they are a small family owned business and«cannot afford the crefit card fees». There are businesses much smaller than them who DO take credit cards(and for the prices George’s charges, I find that to be a poor excuse). I wonder how many customers they turn away each day because of that(more than they are willing to admit, I’ll bet). Needless to say, we left with NOTHING and went somewhere else… had some SPECTACULAR seafood, great service AND they took credit cards. George’s loss.

I’ve been eating at this restaurant since high school. I love it. The fried clams are one-of-a-kind. The bay scallops are so sweet and tasty. I usually get the seafood platter because I like the variety even though there’s no way for one person to eat it all. The New England clam chowder is perfect and the shoestring onion rings are so crunchy and yummy.

This is literally one of my favorite places for lunch. My sister and I love coming here for cheeseburgers(I never have their fish so I can’t speak to that), their burgers are my favorite burgers of any burger I’ve ever eaten! This is such a fun spot to come to in the summer. I usually split a thing of fries with my sister and there is usually a surplus. If you have to try one extra thing with your meal do yourself a favor; GETTHELIMERICKY!

Great place! No other place that can compete! This is my go to spot in the summer, their clam strips are great! I also love that I can bring my dog with me and there is plenty of shade for her. They never give me a problem when I ask for water for her, unlike some place who roll their eyes at you. LOVETHISPLACE!

The only reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars is because this is the first time I have been. My wife and I ate here on Saturday, 9⁄12. We both ordered whole belly fried clams. I had the roll and she had just the clams. The clams were delicious, the portion sizes were very good and the price was reasonable. Clams are no longer inexpensive and George’s is charging prices similar to other places. We also tried the fried mushrooms with a blue cheese dipping sauce. Delicious. None of the fried food was greasy. They are seasonal so I will have to wait until next year to come back. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Great Seafood. I have had both the fried clams and fried scallops. The onion rings and fries are very good. This is my go to place for fried seafood as in my opinion the best you can find in the Milford area. Fried food is not overly greasy and the portions are genorous. Prices are on par for the market. Friendly service and a clean outdoor environment. Family friendly. Even vegan food is offered. The only bad part is that it is not open year round. Remember that it is cash only. Try this place once and you will want to go back again.

My family and I have been coming here several times a year for over 30 years and this year is the first year I have to say we probaly won’t be back. The Seafood Platter was ¾ french fries(for $ 24.95). The large order of clam cakes was $ 7.95(for about 15 quarter sized cakes) and was very short on clams. However, the New England Clam Chowder and Onion Rings are still delish. It seems every year the quality goes down but the prices go up. Sadly, doesn’t seem to be worth it anymore.

Love this place! We eat here every year. Went this past weekend. My mother and I split a Captains plate. It was amazing! Super Huge! Full of fried clams, haddock, scallops, shrimp, fries, and onion rings. Everything was delicious, sweet, fresh, and tasty. It’s a ton of food though! I have no idea how one person could possibly consume this much but I’m sure folks do. My Aunt had just the fried clams, again her portion was huge(she couldn’t eat all of it) but they were delicious! You can’t go wrong here best seafood place in the area in my opinion and I’ve tried a lot of them.

Being a native of the Blackstone Valley, I have eaten at the Redwood as long as I can remember. Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s, there were drive-in restaurants on all the main highways such as Route 16. Since the advent of the super highway, those days are gone. Luckily Mendon still has one. Fortunately for us, this one still can provide a quality meal. Not many places can serve up quality seafood like they do here. The fried clams were excellent without one gram of grit. The onion rings were light and flakey. Just perfect. I was with a party of six and all were very satisfied with scallops, fish and even one burger. It’s the end of the summer season. I’m not sure when they close for the season. But you might want to get one more seafood meal under your belt before the long winter!

Have been coming here for a few years for our annual trip before they close after labor day. It’s a roadside place that has the walk up windows or drive up car service just turn on your lights and they come to you. Or sit at one of the many picnic tables and let a waitress come to you. The food is good for some things and average for others. The white chowder is thick and creamy. Though this year they seem to have gotten cheap with there clam cakes. Usually there bite sizes ones and large use to be about 24 pieces. Today’s though was all over the place with weird shapes and tiny pieces. Have had the lobster roll and it’s pretty good and fair priced. Don’t expect it to be top notch because it’s not that type of place. They also have kids meals and ice cream. Bring cash because That’s all the take.

George’s is what I think of when I think of New England Seafood. Kind of pricey, but the food is always fried and tasty. They also have good Lime Rickeys. I love their clam strips especially, and their scallops are great too. I believe they still do car hop service which is fun. Growing up, George’s was the Redwood Drive In. One of Mendon’s past police chiefs got shot and killed at the restaurant that was there even before that, and I believe it was called the Red Rooster then. A little bit of town history!

What a great spot for seafood that’s not an hour drive. Honestly i was a lil iffy about how the seafood would be being so far away from the coast but i figured I’d give it a try. Its is all outdoor seating and of course we picked a windy cooler day and there was no was this food was gonna be eaten in my car ohh no. so that part kind of suck but that was our own fault. since this was my first time i figured id just get there seafood platter to get a lil taste of everything. it comes with bay scallops, haddock, shrimp, whole belly clams, onion strings, fries and coleslaw. Our order actually came out pretty fast i would say about 8 mins and holy crap that thing was hugeeee !!! granted it had a lot of fries but it had a ton of seafood as well. tons of scallops and clams i only had 3 shrimp thought that was ehhh. i really like how the haddock was cut into bite size pieces instead of just a giant fillet of fish. The best thing about this besides the ridiculous amount of food was it was not greasy at all. i was surprised my fingers weren’t dripping with grease from touching all this seafood which was very nice. i hate nothing more than wicked greasy fried food. everything tasted great and was fried to perfection. if you order it it can definitely feed two easy. I’m used to putting platters down by myself but this one beat me.
