Huge shout out to Sparkely for the tip on this! You really can just walk into the tent during rehearsals and it’s exactly as described in the previous review. The next day, we brought over some food and sat outside on the picnic benches(there was a concert going on this time). We soaked in the sun, had a great view of the water and listened to the music. Both afternoons were wonderful!

No one has reviewed this??? I’m in Mendocino for 11 days and this wonderful event is in full swing! For the past 23 years the MMF has pitched its tent right on the water’s edge and brought great music to this coast side town. Though you pay $ 33 — $ 50 for a ticket to one of the events(opera, big band, classical piano, orchestra, etc.) we opted to watch a few of the rehearsals for FREE! To be honest, I’d rather watch the rehearsals to see the artists at ease, watch the frantic director dash all over the place, and be thoroughly entertained with quality music and performances. I’m just so fascinated with the backstory /and behind the scenes workings of things. So far we’ve seen the rehearsals of: * La Boheme * Big Band Orchestra * 2nd Orchestra * Closing Orchestra BRAVO!!! Free is good.
