Greeted promptly and given good service. Ribs were excellent. Side of corn was not seasoned, portion sizes were a little small for the price. Overall a good experience and worth the visit for good ribs and pulled pork

The pulled pork samich was on point. The potato salad and beans were a great compliment as well. I’ve had better, but this was really good. I’d advise to get extra BBQ… The only disappointment for me was the lack of hard liquor. Some nights beer wont do for me.

I was told to come hereby a local… wish we had not. Don’t waste your calories or time in Memphis here.

The food is pretty good, but the portions are really small for the price. I got the smoked chicken sandwich which was $ 7.95, for just the sandwich with no sides. And the sandwich wasn’t very filling, it barely had any meat on it.

Some of the best southern BBQ we have ever had! Quintessential southern BBQ joint– 100 year old building adds to the charm. Others said the restroom was disgusting but I found it clean and very 1950! We love BBQ and the BEST joints use plastic silverware and disposable dishes and that’s exactly what you get here at the Pig. My hubby does meat smoking and his is the best but The Pig rivals his! I find the price fair — $ 14 for 6 large meaty bones and 2 sides… could not eat it all! Service was outstanding– our server is from Baltimore so he recognized our«northern» accents. I highly recommend you stop here on your next trip to Beale street!

My intention is 2.5 stars for this dining experience. I ordered the pulled pork dinner, with bbq baked beans and french fries. The pork was nicely seasoned, and the presentation was good(comes with 2 slices of white bread and 2 pats of butter). The flavor was… lacking. Although the pork is moderately seasoned, it seemed to have little flavor other than smoke, and the portion was small(third pound or so?). The seasoned french fries were good, but the ketchup and bbq baked beans are obviously canned with a very generic flavor. I ate the entire thing(minus the bread), and continued my search elsewhere for decent bbq. I will never eat here again.

We do not recommend. After eating at Blues City Café last night, and getting a wonderful rack of ribs with sides included for 2 people for under $ 20… and then eating here at The Pig for lunch and spending over $ 30 on 2 tiny meals where we had to pay for sides, no thanks. The flavor wasnt good, the sides were tiny, and the pulled pork was dry. Go to Blues City instead!

Convinced by the guy outside to come in and eat which I never like. This place does mediocrity perfectly. More empty tables than full. Meat comes without sides unless ordered for extra $ 5 which seemed odd to me. Bbq beans were amazing but the fries were frozen bagged fries and undercooked. The meats were ok without being superb. Service was good with driver ks being refilled and given a drink to go. But then we’re given the most flimsy form of plastic cutlery which I didn’t use and opted to use my fingers for everything but the beans. Came with bread that was awful, thick and from a shop bought loaf. Not been anywhere else on the Beale strip but hoping it’s got more to offer than this.

Service was spot on, very nice folks here. Tea was good, food was good, the bbq ribs were different than I’m used to, but good. The portions ‘looked’ small at first, but as it turns out were not small at all. I couldn’t finish it all. They just have large plates

Walking around Beale Street, you have a few BBQ choices, there were people sitting outside eating, so we stopped & asked people how they liked their food. This food was under rated, I only gave it 4 stars because they gave me cheap plastic utensils to eat with. It’s hard to cut ribs with a plastic flimsy knife. At least bump up the quality. 4 of us dining. My Dad had legs/thighs, My Mom & I had ribs, my husband had pulled pork. The meat was wonderfully smoked with a dry rub & baked on sauce. It was all so tender & succulent. We ordered the platters & they do charge you $ 5 for 2 additional sides. The sides come in smaller ¼ cup or so servings. Baked beans & slaw were fabulous! Corn on the cob seemed way over cooked. The place was old Beale, bbq dive. Don’t expect fancy. Our waiter was great & attentive. I would love to eat this meal again, delish!

Pros: Nice server, local beers, sides were awesome(especially the potato salad and spicy baked beans) Cons: Disgusting bathrooms, the ribs had a lot of cartilage and were not very tender, over-priced for the food they’re serving I was expecting more from Memphis BBQ and I was disappointed. Many of the surrounding places looked cleaner and had live acts performing, so you’d probably be better off going somewhere else.

This is just another Beale Street restaurant with an over priced menu, okay service, and moderate tasting Memphis BBQ. I sat outside on a broken metal table that tipped back and forth the entire time. Homeless and sketchy people would walk by every now and then to ask for change and I am not cold hearted, but it got pretty annoying. My waitress offered a beer special, bucket of 5 beers for $ 15. I took her up on the offer and as soon as she brought out the bucket, the doorman made me pour the beer into a large plastic cup bc you can’t have any glass outside on Beale Street. She apologized, but did not offer to take them back or cut me a break on the price. I personally enjoy my beer in a bottle because it stays cooler, longer. You would think that the servers at an expensive BBQ restaurant on Beale Street would know better. I will say that the food at Pigs on Beale Street is better than Blues City BBQ, but the service was subpar for me. So, I finished up my warm beer, paid, and left. I will not ever re-visit this restaurant when visiting Memphis.

First of all this is delicious BBQ. I cant explain how delicious this meat was smoky and juicy enough for the meat to stand alone. But if you like saucy than do it up, cause both of their sauces were delicious. I want more now and will get some on my next trip to Memphis! I just wish they had the display shirts available when we were there. Regarding the other low reviews: We visited this place early so the service was great. When places are crowded… expect delays! your not the only person on earth. This BBQ joint is located on a «BAR-HOPPING» street with multiple police cars stationed at the end of the street. SO… if your bringing you baby here… your an idiot! Leaning tables and grit are part of the BBQ ambiance if you cant deal with that go to I-Hop. The pig is just keeping it real :) i love it!

The barbecue was not even good to begin with. My family and I are very disappointed. The family platter came out on our table room temperature and the meat was very dry and hard to chew. The only hot food available on our table was the baked beans which burned my tongue. The restaurant was built on a slanted floor so I felt like falling backwards in my chair. This place isn’t worth it for barbecue.

It’s ok. It’s not fantastic or something to go out of the way for. It probably has a better atmosphere at night, but I stopped in for an early dinner and it wasn’t crowded. My biggest beef(no pun intended) was the size of the order to the money ratio. This was the most expensive and least amount of product from all three locations I visited. The sweet tea is amazing. Really good sweet tea. The food was good, but I had better during my stay. I’m not against it, but I’m not going to knock down the door for it.

I’ll give this place the benefit of the doubt because the food is very good. I tried this place on a Tuesday night and it was quiet. This place is more fit for lunch before Beale Street gets crowded and the music starts playing at other bars. I had the BBQ sandwich meal and was very pleased with the food and service. As a tourist, this place is perfect to get a good meal before you walked around Beale St., load up on beer and bar hop.

I’ve been to this place twice now, and had completely different experiences each time. The first trip was accented by a less-than-attentive staff and ribs that were dry and just ok. I could not recommend this place based on that experience alone. However, I have since been back to give them another shot and am glad I did. This time the staff was much better and payed attention to refilling glasses, providing guidance on the menu, making good recommendations for sides, etc. The ribs were very good this time. Moist and tender, with a nice smoky flavor. I would not consider them championship level ribs, but they were very good. Overall I would say give them a try and I hope you receive my «second time around» experience.

This is what happens when you walk into an empty restaurant on Beale street on St. Patrick’s day and ignore the Unilocal reviews. This place was awful. I’m only giving it 2 stars and not 1, because our server was so nice and attentive. Every thing about the food was mediocre at best and served on styrofoam plates. I wish I hadn’t wasted the calories. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. We just wanted a quick snack. I had a bad feeling when I walked in and I should have listened to my intuition. We will not return.
