I’ve wandered over to the Peabody Place«shopping center» quite a few times seeing as how my salon is located in the actual Peabody. It’s actually a super cute space, and at one time I can imagine it was an awesome place to shop. Sadly, this little chocolate shop and three other stores are all that is left of the legacy, and not for much longer. I went today on my lunch break and was informed that they will be closing(along with Maggie Moos according to the owner of this shop) shortly. The only good to come along with this news is that all these chocolate creations are 50% off. Yes, you read that correctly. I would hurry down here and pick up a bag or 10 of all the wonderful candies they have lining the glass cases in this shop. They have everything you could imagine– fudge, toffee chocolate, truffles, coffee flavored gems, chocolate covered dog biscuits, chocolate covered marshmallows and twinkies(on a stick! everything tastes better on a stick people!) peanut butter cups(the size of your head) coffee, t-shirts, mugs and even gummy bears. I refrained from buying anything, but my friend bought about a pound and a half of everything under the sun. We spent the remainder of the evening at work in chocolate induced comas. It’s sad that two grown women cannot tell their chocolate eating limits. Everything was to die for– my favorite being the white chocolate and sprinkled covered marshmallows. Mmmmm delicious! Don’t fret– they still have a couple of Tennessee locations you can go to– one in Murfreesboro, Nashville and Lebanon. Hey, who knows how far you are willing to travel for chocolate… it is worth a mention.

I’m easy to please — I love dark chocolate. You could dip a dog bone in it and I’d eat it. Thankfully, I was in luck — they sold white confection-covered dog bones — for the pups, of course. I picked up a bag, I think it was $ 3.99 for a little bunch. They also sold singles. I noted the amazing chocolate cups, brittle, and basic chocolates, as well as the so-perfect-they-almost-look-fake caramel and chocolate covered apples.

Went in here for a cup of coffee since the Starbucks next door is closed. They had samples of fudge out which were delicious. I wanted iced coffee since it was over 90 degrees that day, but they didn’t have so the girl at the counter offered to make me an iced vanilla latte(her favorite). She then put it in the blender because she said it tasted better that way, and it did. Coffee was passable– nothing I would travel to get. Service was outstanding but super-slow. Took a solid 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee.
